It's the kind of hobby shop that harkens back to the days of saving your money as a kid, and spending it on kits. They also have trains in various scales and supplies for hobby railroaders too. They're knowledgeable about the hobbies and supplies they stock. It's a family owned business. At checkout, the older woman working as the cashier mumbled under her breath as she was ringing me up which I assumed was her talking to herself/noting what the costs were to ring up. She told me the total and I swiped my card not thinking too much of it. When I got back to my car I realized the math didn't quite add up. I checked the receipt and realized the jewelry beads were not discounted so I went back inside to request a price verification. I was rudely told that she had told me those weren't on sale - which maybe she did whilst she was mumbling but I hadn't acknowledged it as I didn't actually hear it. I let her know if they weren't on sale then I'd like to return those items. Thankfully a manager stepped in and let her know the beads were indeed on sale and showed her where it said so on the weekly flyer. The cashier apologized to the manager - not me.

I am simply a collector with my 7 year old daughter and this place is not suited for that. The prices on all boxes and packs are high and there are not any "cheaper" bins for my kid to go through to pick out cards she finds cool. I came to the hobby shop for that so it wasn't like shopping on eBay. The kid at the counter was very friendly and clearly willing to work out deals on higher end stuff and again, may create a great experience with someone in the business of cards, but if my kid wasn't getting anything, I wasn't either.
