This store is located a block away from me so for singles it's not too bad. Yes, it's not the best price but I don't mind spending it local. The people behind the register are always nice and willing to help. Now the trade in counter service is rough, it's just not with people you'd want to be talking with or they just seem to be bothered by their job or just by speaking to people. Again, the counter service and employees are great. I just wish the second half was just as good.

Great selection of games and items to purchase, and I love that you can order food to eat while you play! What I love the most is how Gamers Guild has truly managed to create a "third space" for the community and allows you to come in, hang out, and play games without a requirement to pay anything. A really great selection of all kinds of books, music, video games, and more! Everything here is community-based, with the exception of selections here and there that are brand-new. So a nice way to support buying secondhand items from Phoenix folks, being more sustainable and supporting a smaller business, and overall just a good spot to come explore! I've found lots of cool vintage magazines, vintage video games, some vinyls, and a number of books here on 19th. I definitely recommend this location!

I walk in to Bookman's and often find displays that are Arizona focused in a way that makes you feel and know this place is home town friendly. No big box impersonal feels here! I frequent this store and stop in just because I'm passing by. As an avid reader, I read about 50 books a year, Bookman's is a great place to buy paper books at a cheaper price. My favorite part about local shops like Bookman's is how they don't shy away from displaying banned books all year long! I have to read at least one banned books a month! There's gotta be something in the banned books they don't want us to know and I'm determined to read as many as possible. Interestingly enough, this store is full of "entertainment treasures" too. Music, musical instruments and even gaming equipment can be purchased here. The only thing missing is a social lounge with a coffee bar. We'd probably go even more often if there were a coffee bar inside. Return Factor: 100%

Once we were there, my kids scattered, checking out all the STUFF!! It's a pretty cool store-- a few mins in, I was approached by an employee/owner? Idk, wish I would have caught his name. He very kindly let me know the comics my boy was looking at were VERY graphic for violence and even had a terrible grape part in one of the stories. I ended up telling my son he could not purchase those particular comics. He had tears in his eyes, mostly I think he was embarrassed but just in that RIGHT moment-- a fellow employee handed him Absolute Batman! Such a better choice and he even described some of the story to get him interested. Instead of my boy, spending his money on inappropriate comics. I bought his Batman comic and my little scored some sort of collectible stuffy that smells like coffee. ‍ WELL DONE SAMURAI COMICS!!

Should have walked away, so no one but myself to blame, but don't fall for the friendly neighborhood store facade, it's cut-throat. No transparency on their offering whatsoever. They gave me basically a 32% offer on a lot of products easily worth 1000. Should have walked away, but I didn't, don't make my same mistake, sell it on E-bay, and buy what you are looking for on E-Bay, prices are better both ways.

The prices on all boxes and packs are high and there are not any "cheaper" bins for my kid to go through to pick out cards she finds cool. I came to the hobby shop for that so it wasn't like shopping on eBay. The kid at the counter was very friendly and clearly willing to work out deals on higher end stuff and again, may create a great experience with someone in the business of cards, but if my kid wasn't getting anything, I wasn't either.
