Got scammed by the dude, he forced me to buy a comic after I read it in the store. I was killing time with a couple friends, I don't even like comic books. There were no signs or anything saying if I read it I had to buy it. I picked up a random comic (he saw me do it and didn't say anything) and flipped through a couple pages. I put it back on the shelf and he said I have to buy it because it was now "Used". On my way out of the store he used a rude tone and made me buy it before leaving. Bad experience, will never go back there. If there was signage or something that explained I'd have to buy it, I wouldn't have read it in the first place. read more

Get a receipt when shopping here. I bought 4 Japanese Surging Sparks booster packs at 5.99 each. Somehow my total was 32 dollars. 6 x 4 is 24, so how did I get to 32? Only after leaving did I realize that I didn't see any tip screen, which is the only reason I can think of for the major increase in the total. The guy was nice, but be wary and get a receipt. read more

Please be careful and do your research before purchasing anything from this shop. I stopped in to check out the Pokémon 151 booster packs that were available and was floored to see a price tag of $20 per loose pack. You can absolutely purchase loose packs online for $5.99 each. The justification was people are pulling "thousand dollar cards" from these packs so $20 was a fair price. To date- there are literally zero cards in this set that are worth even close to $1000 raw. The most valuable raw card in this set is, on average, worth about $300. I understand everyone needs to make a profit but wow, this was incredibly dishonest and deceptive. Shameful. read more

I am no comic book connoisseur, but my 10 year old son recently developed an interest in graphic novels and comics... Of course, anything that is not electronics related, I am very supportive of, so I took him to this store to do some shopping. He really enjoyed it. They had a solid selection from a lay person's view, and were helpful upon request. I asked about Archie comics of which they have plenty, so we added some of those to our purchases and he seems to be enjoying them. Fantastic Worlds Comics carries various collectibles as well. I've now been twice and my son is already asking when we can return. On both visits, it appeared that there were regular customers coming in for their weekly/monthly pick-up of their favorites or special orders. I want to thank Bill over here at Fantastic Worlds comics. I have never been here and I sold my Captain America #111 for my trip to Las Vegas. He was very open and honest with me and gave me a great over so thank you so much Bill. It was a pleasure doing business on that. I needed the cash for my vacation. Bill was kind and listened to my story too along with another regular in the shop. Bill has guys that come in and help out with the shop too! They have everything from Pokémon cards to collectibles, to toys and more. They have bags and boards as well as a bunch of back issues. They got a new comic book section too. They have a ton of Funkos as well. I'm a funkos collector and they have a bunch of them! So shoutout! They have a bunch of graphic novels too. When you first come in on the right you will see them! On the left are the action figures too. There are more and more amazing prints in store such as original comic books such as the Spider-Man I'm posting! Bill gets everything and finds everything for people! I'm on the look out for a Superman girlfriend fat lol comic that I'm trying to buy locally and seeing the stuff in here I will be checking on a regular basis! Always looking for new comic shops to visit while traveling, I had one in Phoenix area already, but now I have two must stops when passing through. I had an extra day so visited "Fantastic Worlds Comics", and soooooo glad I did. Beautiful store that is wonderfully organized & full of different bins to explore. Istvan was working and he was very welcoming and took the time to show me the store & explain the deals. While I was there several customers came in, one was selling some of his collection & Istvan was polite & personable with each visitor. The boxes in the back were in four sections, there was $1 boxes, 4 for a $1 boxes and buy 1 get 3 free boxes. Basically in those boxes books are priced as marked so if u grab a $5 book, then u were able to get 3 of equal or lesser value free. So u payed an average of $1 a book. They also had some 40% off boxes, this with regular price boxes & wall stuff really provided a great selection of stuff to look at. Istvan was really polite, and I actually bought my first official graded Book. He worked a deal that we were both happy with, I have a reading copy at home & now a beautiful Uncanny X-Men #140 to display proudly. There was plenty of great books to purchase from cheap to untra-expensive, so a little of everything for every comic book enthusiast. Make sure you stop in and check out, I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

Been subscribing to a comic series here for quite awhile and they suddenly weren't able to get an issue in, and have no idea or plans to get it. This kinda defeats the whole purpose of subscribing as now I am forced to either drive around to other stores or pay a marked up price online- which is exactly why I subscribed and came here in the first place. read more

I go to a lot of comic stores. If you count vendors I meet at conventions and through eBay, the number of "stores" I deal with is not inconsequential. I was very happy to find this little gem just a few minutes from my office. This is not a huge store but, by and large, it is all comics. There is a small amount of gaming materials, but the focus is certainly comics, nothing else. There is a good and constant supply of nice back issues, including early bronze and silver age books. Bill, the owner, is knowledgeable and transparent in his business. I, for one, am glad to have another good option in the Valley. read more
