I had a day to spend in LA, and my local friend insisted that I try Memorylook's hojicha…read moreeinspanner. She let me know that Memorylook is known for einspanners and they have their own parking lot. When there's a parking lot on-site, say less.. Parking wasn't too difficult to come by, and there are even a few electric charging spots if you need it. I stopped by around noontime and there were people inside/outside chatting, working, taking pics in the photobooth, etc. The line went by quickly and I had my hojicha einspanner in no time! It was so tasty!! The cream top was light and not too sweet. The hojicha was smooth. I really enjoyed it, and the latte definitely helped me keep cool while driving around LA on such a hot day. If I lived in LA, I could see myself coming here to do work on my laptop or to meet a friend. Such a cute, spacious spot!

The cream top works nicely with the matcha, the matcha flavor is pretty light Blood Orangeade 1/5: this was honestly not my fav. I didn't end up finishing it, it tasted like syrup+sparkling water. The drinks weren't spectacular, but given the easy parking and tables, I'd prob come back to study

When I went to pick it up, I grabbed a saucer to avoid spilling on my way back to my seat. Before I could even walk away, one of the baristas snatched it from my hand and said, "You're not allowed to use that. The saucers go with the latte mugs!" I paused, glanced at the empty café behind me, and replied, "There are plenty available--surely I can use one." He continued, in a dismissive tone, speaking to me in a way that felt unnecessarily disrespectful. I chose to walk away and still enjoy my pour-over. But it's not just about serving good coffee. As Maya Angelou reminds us, people will always remember how you made them feel. And in this space, I felt unwelcome. As a paying customer--one who tipped in advance--that behavior felt undeserved and unwarranted. For that reason, there's no need to return.

As for the space itself, it's nice and modern but not a place I personally would hangout. As for the drinks let's get into it: - Cream Top Coffee (6/10) I think if it was a little sweeter I'd like it. - Strawberry Matcha (7/10) It's not bad, I've just had better. - Double Matcha (11/10) Sole reason I am giving this place a 5 star. The sweetness doesn't take away from the matcha. One of the better matcha drinks I've had in LA Overall experience was okay, service was good, not a fan of the location but definitely a fan of the double matcha. Would I go again? Yes!

However, I am almost embarrassed to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed Stagger. There was no line, but it makes sense with the fact that we came at 4 pm. After ordering, we were quickly served. Everything from napkins to drink caddies to straws to drink sleeves were self serve, which I appreciated. Not to mention the free stickers! The drinks were on the sweeter side, which is what I prefer, but not too sweet that it drowns out the matcha flavor. The double matcha was topped with a thick layer of sweet cream which balanced nicely with the slight matcha bitterness. The jasmine matcha, which was the seasonal drink, was very jasmine forward and garnished with flowers (I ended up spitting them out; had the texture of disintegrating paper straws). Otherwise, it was one of the better matchas I've had, especially because it didn't make me feel jittery. The vibe was quiet, clean, and minimalistic. The chairs looked straight out of a modern art museum. It's like musical chairs, but the loser still gets a chair, just one without back support. This is my first time visiting a matcha shop in LA, and the bar has been set very high!

Unfortunately, Community Goods is worth the hype and I will be coming back and waiting in line haha…read more I went for the first time a few weeks ago on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and waited 1.5 hours. The line is not for the faint of heart. I tried their matcha einspanner, breakfast sliders, and pistachio toast and all three were AMAZING. - Matcha Einspanner: One of the best matchas I've ever had! The matcha is so well balanced - you can actually taste the matcha, not too sweet, and creamy too. They also sprinkle sea salt on top which helps enhance the matcha flavor. My only complaint is that I wish the cup was bigger. - Breakfast Sliders: I wasn't expecting much from the sliders, but everyone always hypes up their slides, so I knew I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The egg is so fluffy and the sauces that come with it are so delicious, especially their hot sauced. I added bacon and avocado too and it was great. - Pistachio Toast: I feel like their pistachio toast is not talked about enough. It was so yummy and satisfying that I wish I could get another one. The toast is hearty and the pistachio spread with sea salt, olive oil, and olive oil is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I'm still thinking about their toast. Although it is quite pricey, I think the taste and quality justify the price. The interior is small and there's about 6 tables outside which is pretty crowded so you might have to take it elsewhere to enjoy. Parking is easy with metered street parking or free parking in the neighborhoods.

The line was full of restless people and It was overwhelming. It was hot outside. It's pricey also. But my food was delicious. I recommend but beware you need to make it an event instead of a stop. The staff was friendly despite the amount of people. Waiting in line at community goods is the equivalent of dining at a restaurant start to finish. That includes finding somewhere to park. So if you have a day off work and have time to kill but also want to get hard earned coffee come here It's pretty good but make your wait worth it and get the oats.
