Stylish atmosphere, they manage to have a large flatscreen TV to enjoy Fifa futebol but without it being in your face tacky. Some tapas are very good and overall a nice place away from the tourist restaurants which are just 1 block away. We stayed on the area for a month and Cham We had duck mini-burgers and pulled the mint from the Changria to top off the burger's flavor. The olive tapenade has lots of garlic, delicious. The ice cream isn't too sweet, just right.

Ok, where do I start?! This personally was my favorite dinner of the whole European trip! I loved the diversity that this restaurant offers. From the drinks to the appetizers and straight to the entrees. SAVORY is the word I would staple this place to! Being that we were in a large group, we decided it would be best to order multiple appetizers so that everyone would get a taste of something unique and different. The appetizers ranged from a salad that contained pieces of thin duck meat, deliciously breaded shrimp with a creamy garlic sauce, amazing cod meat fried bites and salmon ceviche! Just reviewing this again is making my mouth water I had a delicious champirihña which is a Caipirinha but made from champagne . I loved the presentation on all the dishes indulged in! For entrees I had a chicken sofrito which had pops of flavor that left us all wanting more and completed your bite with a crunch! My sister had churrasco slices that were nicely presented in a wooden board ( very juicy). The sliders are a must, being that they are not your average slider, leaving it as a you must try to know type of thing. By far this restaurant inspired me to not get comfortable with my cooking or searching for little gems around town! The service was great and the attention to detail was a 10! I highly recommend this place for a party in your mouth meal

My husband and I ate here and ordered 4 items to share and loved everything! Our favorites were the cod tempura and the stuffed mushrooms.

The food across the board was excellent--every dish we tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and felt thoughtfully put together. You can tell there's real intention behind both the menu and execution. What really elevated the experience, though, was our waiter, Bernardo. He brought incredible energy to the table--full of personality, engaging, and genuinely fun to interact with. At the same time, his service was top-notch: attentive without being overbearing, helpful with recommendations, and clearly passionate about what he does. Great food is one thing, but when you pair it with service like that, it turns into a memorable experience. Highly recommend--and if you get Bernardo, you're in for a great time.

I had read in Yelp that lines could be long, but we arrived early. They have a little red rope at the door where they explain the rules. The interior is kind of eclectic. They have wines at three price points, we got a really nice bottle of red called Pops reserve. For the tapas, we ordered the assorted cheeses, octopus risotto, duck breast with chips (not normally on the menu), and ceviche. All were superb. We started with the duck and ceviche. The duck was braised perfectly and seasoned well, wonderful. Then the ceviche had swordfish and tuna. I am not normally a sword fan, but this was very tasty. Next up were the cheese and risotto. The risotto was incredible, buttery and delicious. The cheese plate had 5 cheeses of different intensity. All were great, particularly the goat ones. It came with a pumpkin jam which I had never had before, but was very good. I definitely recommend this place

Having experienced fado outside of Portugal I didn't feel strongly that it was a must-do, but when I found myself at night on the street that is known for fado I prioritized it. For the best fado experience I recommend an intimate space, hopefully crowded with people but also with a view to the performers. Tasca do Chico is exactly that place. The doorman told us that space was standing room only, at the (tiny) bar. From there we could see and hear the performers while ordering food and drink. We'd not been there long before we were offered an available seat at a table which caused us to order more food and drink and stay a little longer. The fado here is quite good, made even more enjoyable as the artists change quite frequently; a song or two and a new artist steps forward, all very talented and enjoyable to watch and hear. The fado places tend to have lines out the door and a doorman managing entry. A place across the street looked much bigger but the intimacy is, in my opinion, what makes the experience both unique and special. Even if you have to start at the bar, Tasca do Chico is a great place to experience fado.

On the bright side, I met some new friends in line, and honestly, it was worth it even though I hoped the wait was shorter. The drinks and performances were incredible and exceeded my expectations. It's a small place so the performances felt very intimate, what a memorable night! Just a heads up: they only take cash, so don't make the same mistake I did. Cheers!

I did see a small sign with "Bairrices", so I went inside and followed the path. To get to the restaurant, I had to go through a door that led outside. Then the restaurant was on the right. I opted to sit outside and the server explained the menu to us in English. Basically you get served all 22 dishes plus dessert (see photo with yellow paper) for 22€ per person. If you end up liking any of them, you can order them again - as many as you want. Some dishes were cold, some were hot. The fried squid was my favorite. There weren't any that I hated, but like the server said, everyone's preference is different. There will be some dishes that you don't like. I never felt pressured to finish everything that was served. It was like a small (and affordable) tasting menu! Drinks cost separate. I highly recommend the sangria! For only 3€ you get a liter. It was so delicious, but also on the sweet side. The server was so nice and spoke English, which was very helpful. There is a small restroom next to the register inside the restaurant. I was able to pay with Apple Pay. They have free WiFi!
