Wow! SOOO much fun!!!! This was my first time doing an escape room. I actually hadn't heard much about them at all so I didn't know what to expect. Went there with our office department for a celebration. We had a group of 10 and did the Temple room. Since our party was large, that was the only room that would accommodate us all together. After a brief overview of the rules, we were led down a hallway to our room. She said we had 1 hour and could have 3 hints, if needed. The room was dark and it was a little scary walking in, not knowing what to expect. We found some lanterns in the room and started on our way...we looked for clues...completed puzzles. It was a great team effort and everyone contributed! I would definitely recommend this for a fun team bonding event! We got out with record time to spare! They took a picture of our group after we got out and texted it to all of us. Fun, memorable, and enjoyed by all! Can't wait to do this again! read more

This place deserves its rating. My 11 year old and 3 of his friends came and had the time of their lives. They were so super excited and screaming the entire time. The dragon tower was finished with 10 minutes to spare and they did a laser game after that. Unfortunately, I wasn't playing so I excused myself to the restroom and our game monitor noted the fees while I wasn't present. I checked my credit card transactions when I came home n I was shocked to see the fees. I called and they waived the fees, citing that they only cared that we had fun and that we had a good experience. They are so polite, and made us feel welcomed the moment we stepped into the door Our guide was informative, not intrusive and super helpful. Wish I could write his name so he'd receive good feedback, but he was a younger, thinner hapa haole guy that was about 5'7. Please give them your business as I promise you won't be disappointed. Came here with my kids and we had an awesome time. My youngest son who was the bday boy wanted to do something different so I was YELPing what to do and I came upon this place. My kids have tried escaped rooms and virtual reality (VR) games separately, but at the same time?! Anyways, originally, my kids were going to be the only ones doing it because the last time I did VR from another company, I felt dizzy, but the staff member that I was talking with assured that their equipment is the best and almost guarantees no dizziness. It's a good thing I listened because I had a blast with my kids. We did the DRAGON TOWER and that freaking fun. There's a max of 4 players and you gotta work together as a team. This escape room wasn't too difficult nor was it easy for us so it was just perfect for 1 adult to 2 kids. There are 3 other VR escape rooms to do and once we complete all 4 courses, we end up on their Wall of Fame. This VR place allows you to roam a large room without getting tangled up with your teammates because you wear these ghostbuster proton pack-looking backpack. They also have escape rooms that aren't VR, but they were both recommended by the staff. The staff are friendly, helpful, and informational. I don't know if they have a parking lot, but there are street parking so good luck with that. We booked our room at 6pm so the street parking was wide open. Anyways, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended. $45 for regular admissions and $34 for Kama'aina discount plus 10% if you're a student or military. Don't to check in to get a free "hint" in case you need it. read more

Both times I had to email with questions and they were very communicative and got back with me quickly. We've done several different escape rooms...gotten out of most. So since this is a new one, we wanted to give it a try. There is a VR room, but was worried about getting hurt since we're clumsy bunch and not used to this VR stuff. Plus putting on masks that were on strangers just didn't sound appealing with all the Flu/Corona/Colds going around this winter season. The worker...Keith?...was super nice and good fun. The room and game itself was pretty good. We had 8 of us, and were able to work on different clues at the same time...but then there were times with only one clue, so jus talking stories cuz you can't have too many "chefs in the kitchen." Our group is pretty well mixed, so different brains made it easy to figure out most of the clues...and since we've known each other for over half our lives, we know who is good at what. We did use one clue and got out in under 40 minutes. Think wasn't super hard, but was still a fun time. read more

Went here for my niece's birthday. Had a room booked for 5 and found out the public parking garage next door closes its tickets at 430. Street parking wasn't that hard but it was confusing with when you were allowed to park versus not. Found a street stall out front that had a max of two hours. Fed the meter and got inside just in time. This was my first experience with a virtual reality escape room, third escape room. I thoroughly enjoyed it after getting the hang of the system. We did the dragon one and it was pretty interesting. Got out with a few minutes to spare! We are doing another one soon since we liked it so much. We tried the Depths of Osiris room (it was underwater and lots of fun!) & Hospital of Horror was a little scary maybe not something for smaller kids but I recommend trying both! The two person, virtual reality experience was everything that I thought it would be. A couple of my friends recommended this place and said that their rooms are easy. My husband is new to break out rooms and I wanted to introduce him to something fun so I thought this would be a great introductory experience. I was right. it helped that we unintentionally signed up for the easiest room, Depths of Osiris. You can enjoy the VR experience with a group of four OR alone, but some tasks will be easier with a larger group. However, Depths of Osiris would be too easy for a larger group. Hella fun!!! Ron is a very sweet guy, super helpful! My sister decided to have my nieces birthday celebration here, per her daughter's request! This was a good one!! 3 VR rooms available, and if I'm not mistaken, 1 escape room! What an adventure! I've never done this before, I've heard about them all the time, just never went, but what a great, mind skills experience. I found out that I'd probably not that great in solving clues, but when someone in your group does, it's like wow, that's awesome, okay next puzzle! It was so much fun! I really enjoyed myself. We all did! After everyone was done, we cleaned up and Ron offered the birthday girl and 3 others to sample VR. It's very entertaining just to watch, I had a great ab workout! Everyone laughed and tried to tell them where do to go, but they can't hear you, just each other, with their headsets. So if someone (the worker/owner) is watching us watch the players, they're probably laughing at us, yelling at the players. I would definitely come back, so much fun! I was looking for an activity for my daughter's 17th birthday. Been checking out all the different rooms out there to escape from. It would be most of our first time going (except 1 person) in the group. So we really didn't know what to expect. I contacted them via website, on their contact us page. Ron replied to me very quick and answered all my questions! He made it really easy for me to choose them! The cost was perfect for our group of 16. We got there on a Saturday night. The street parking situation was a little tight, as they had the Salt Night Market going on, and a lot of the parking was taken. I contacted Ron to inquire about parking being scarce and he said the building had 3 stalls that they could utilize so I was happy about that! My guests all got in and we were ready. Got in about 30 mins early, just to make sure on parking and signing the waivers on the tablet. We did the Temple Room, the interactive escape room. It's 8 to a group, so we split into adults vs kids. The first group went in at 8pm & 2nd group at 9:30. Because we were going to be there for a good 2.5 hours, we had Domino's deliver to us and we brought a cooler with drinks. We also brought a cake for the birthday cake. All this to munch on while each group waited on each other. Ron was so accommodating. I asked if we would be able to do this and he advised that he had a pretty big waiting area. You may want to bring a small little table, if you want something sturdy. The room is pretty big! The Temple Room was awesome! I can't give away anything, but the adults & kids were able to do it. Hints are given, if you ask. It was sooo much fun! While we were cleaning up, Ron offered to let the birthday girl and 3 other friends sample the VR game! It was hilarious!!! We could NOT stop laughing, as we watched them go through the game. Thank you Ron, for doing that! The rest of my group will now have to come back for it. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon at Beer Lab when one of our friends decided to sign us up for an escape room. As my husband and I had never experienced one before, we weren't sure what to expect. However, Chambers Escape Games did not disappoint. When we first arrived, the lobby was bright and clean with polished wood floors and interesting furniture (you'll know what I mean when you visit). We we greeted by the front desk and properly checked-in. Once it was time for our adventure, our "tour guide," gave us a few instructions (i.e. if it's too heavy to move, it's most likely not meant to be moved, don't break anything, etc.), before leading us on our merry way. We entered the first part of the escape room, it was pitch black except for an electric lantern and our first clue. From there, each room expanded into another part of the mystery. I think what makes Chambers Escape Games so successful is the fact that they've created a fully immersive game that really pulls in different skill sets. Our team, bless us, was slightly inebriated when we did this, so you bet we were a wreck and a half, but we made it, and we definitely had to communicate with one another in order to solve the different pieces of the puzzle. Overall, if you're looking for an exciting activity to try, especially with a group, I would highly recommend Chambers Escape Games. While it was only my first visit, I can definitely see the appeal, and not only do they have the regular escape room, but they offer VR as well. Virtual reality escape room = Awesome! I honestly had no idea what to expect. My first worry was that I would get motion sick from having the goggles on for an hour, but that wasn't an issue at all. The digital imaging was so clear that you really felt like you were transported into another world. We did the space center mission and it was really cool. You enter into a room that has a square on the ground. It's crazy because the room looks so empty and it's hard to believe you're going to do an escape room in it. They put a battery backpack on you and then you get the goggles, earmuffs and hand sensors. Once you put them on, you're in an alternate reality. It's so crazy!! It takes a while to figure out how to navigate in this alternate world and that's part of the fun of it. This "room" was the right level of challenging for our first try at a virtual reality room. I was honestly so impressed by how they were able to create an escape room in this way. It was such a unique experience and so different than anything I've ever done before. I loved it! read more

If you love escape rooms, Scavenger Hunts, riddles, AND Indiana Jones, this place is for YOU! When we arrived, we were introduced to the concept of this escape room by the very creator himself! It was cool to see how passionate and proud he is of this company, and rightly so. It was a truly amazing experience. We literally felt like we were on an Indiana Jones crusade searching for treasure, all within an hour time limit. Everything was so elaborate and detailed, it felt like a movie set! We did the live-action option (there are also virtual reality room options). Everything from lighting, sound effects, elaborate props, and even sand at our feet made this particular escape room so exhilarating! Very happy to report, we found the treasure and made it out safely with 10 minutes to spare, with zero hints from our guide! (You can collectively ask for 3 hints). Background: I just did an escape room in Los Angeles and was floored because of the production quality and theatrics that I would expect from the movie capital of the world. I have tried an escape room on Oahu and after experiencing the one in California, now had higher expectations of what an escape room experience could be like. Our team of 6 included 2 newbies and 1 person who had never escaped (3 times). This would have been my 4th escape experience and I had a 100% escape rate. I hoped that the overall experience for the newbies would be outstanding so they would do this again with me. We booked The Temple Live game. He helped coordinate everyone to get into their places and know what to do. They even told us not to worry about cleaning up all the decorations. My new fiancé was totally surprised and she had an amazing experience, she mentioned she loved Rons enthusiasm from the get go. 7 girls arrived to my daughters big 13th birthday party with their arms crossed, all awkwardly standing apart from eachother...they went to Chambers with my husband (ages 11-33) and came back laughing and chatting like they'd always been best friends! What can I say but worth every penny! All of them wanted to go again sometime and my husband said it was soooo good that we'd be inviting other parents to do an adult get together at one. The room is very immersive and there are enough puzzles that everyone will get a chance to work on something (They did the Egyptian Temple). There are all kinds of clues, hidden, written, puzzle, visual etc. If you get stuck, no worries! Someone is right there to give you a tiny nudge. Now, I can't go into too much detail or it will spoil it for you. But if you had 8, 13 year olds that wanted to try these rooms alone, they could do it with a couple nudges. If you're in a slump (like me) from not being able to travel and experience new things, try a VR game at Chambers Escape! I've never done immersive VR before, so this was a totally new experience and it was SO FUN. Made a reservation on their website for 2 at 1:45pm on a Monday. Parking: Meter parking out front. Panicked a little because we didn't realize it cost a quarter for 10 minutes. We ran out of quarters, but were able to scrounge up enough coins from our car to pay for a little over an hour. Bring quarters! VR Experience: I don't know why I thought I would just be standing in a room, chillin', moving my arms around a little bit. NO! Be prepared to move. That's the fun part! You are physically carrying out tasks in a beautiful VR world! That means, WEAR clothing you are comfortable moving around in. I wore denim jeans and although I wasn't uncomfortable, they are not the best for bending, squatting, dodging, ducking, etc. Don't forget you are also wearing the goggles, a headset, a backpack, and your face mask the entire time! I was a little exhausted after the game (in a good way), but take that lightly since I am terribly out of shape. The game assistant stays in the room with you to help with the equipment and give you tips if you need! Our host was very kind and friendly! I've never had a real VR experience before but when I saw Chambers Escape Games pop up, I knew I had to give it a try. Their location is pretty nondescript, and you wouldn't really notice it if not for the banner hanging outside. Come in through the side door (as the front double doors were closed), and it's right up the stairs on the 2nd floor. After signing in, Ron led us into another room and explained how it works. You put on high-def gaming laptop that you wear as a backpack, HTC VR set, numchucks that serve as your hands, and noise-canceling headphones. There are currently 3 VR experiences you can choose from, a space-themed one, underwater one, and a medieval one. We decided to give the medieval one, Dragon Tower, a try. I don't want to give too much away but it's pretty much like being in an escape room, except it's virtual. It's a bit trippy because you have to remember to press on the button for your mic to work (just do what I ended up doing- continuously pressing on it on both "hands"). Surprisingly since there were two of us, I am proud to say we were able to escape with 0:17 left on the clock. I was just happy to get to the final stage lol so needless to say I was very surprised we didn't get sacrificed to the dragon. I wonder how that cut scene would have been though. read more

Chambers Hawai'i is in Kakaako. The building is a little bit outside of Salt (about 5 minutes) and Chambers is on the second floor. When I went last, there was plenty of street parking. Pro Tip: Keep the phone number handy, because sometimes they lock the entrance door. I was initially skeptical about this escape room because it's virtual reality (VR) and I was worried about getting sick. Turns out that doesn't happen! I've been to most of the escape rooms on Oahu, but this one was a super cool and immersive experience! Felt like I was in a video game and it was an incredible feeling. We fricking fought DRAGONS!!! Looking at the photos of us after we all laughed though because you're really just wearing VR gear in a black room and it looks ridiculous, but you're so involved in the game, you don't really notice. Currently there's a $25 promo until the end of February. After, the price increases to $35. We spoke with the owners and they told us they also have live escape rooms in the works; one is supposed to be Egyptian-temple themed! Definitely recommended! read more

Despite some technical difficulties, the service they provided was AMAZING! Here's a little backstory: I got lung surgery a couple months ago so per doc's orders, I can't lift more than 10 pounds during my recovery period and unfortunately if you're doing the VR room, you have to carry a techy backpack that weighs around 13 pounds....I thought I would have to sit this one out but they went above and beyond to find solutions that would let me still participate -- thus born the idea of using a roller chair! They strapped the backpack to the chair and I just maneuvered by wheeling around. I may have been handicapped but I'm glad I still got to play! The experience was fun overall and took a little brain work but we managed to escape plus a bonus round! If you're prone to motion sickness, it might be a good idea to take some medicine to avoid any dizziness. They also have a regular escape room so I would like to try that one next time! read more

It had three levels and we aced it with two minutes to spare. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Zachary, our castle guide was funny and helped guide us. The rooms and lobby was clean and compliant with the COVID rules. We had such a blast we're planning our next challenge. Take your kids, your family and your friends. Worth every penny!!! read more

Best experience ever. Reality will never be the same. The first one we tried was the Dragon Tower which had 3 levels and it was the coolest experience ever. If you love Game of Thrones, this is the version for you. Teamwork and communication is key, and of course, having fun. First is you're trap in a cage. Second, is the alchemy which was so fun because I am a chemist. And the last one was.... mindblowing. We beat this one with 3 minutes to spare which was really close. I just experienced the Space Station Tiberia which had 2 levels. Basically, there's a meteor trying to kill us all. I am afraid of heights so even if it's in virtual, it felt very real. This one was really tricky compared to the Dragon Tower. We beat this with 13 minutes to spare so they let us try the hospital horror which was just an interactive VR but it would be fun of they made it into a full escape room because when it started, I wanted to get out already. If you're afraid of spiders, don't do it. Tips for first timers? 1. If you have long hair, make sure to tie your hair because you will get sweaty even if the place has AC in it. 2. Play barefoot. 3. Strap your mask up and not like when you have a diving mask on. I have yet to try the underwater one and their live game so I'll be sure to come back. I am excited for them to have new versions too. The live escape room was quite the experience and a definite recommend, all the special effects really made it a fun experience. I need to come back here to try their VR system escape room version. I tried the Treasure one or something like that and it was a group of 5. We didn't win but we went over 10 minutes so not that bad. Parking was kind of confusing. It said street parking on their website but on Yelp it says garage parking. We set a time for 7:30 pm and the garages around their where closed. We parking right in front of it and they said we couldn't park in the coned area. We had to write a note to place in the car with who to call and where we'd be at so they wouldn't tow my car. After that, we entered the building and it's sort of confusing because there's a lot of doors and entrances to things so you can get lost. The lady left us after we parked so we got confused where to enter. We found the door which was the first right when you went up the stairs. That room was AC which was nice cause it's super humid rn. After she showed us our room and introduced the story line of our room, she said we could start. I brought my bag with me and left it in the room. The lady basically stays with us in the room the whole time and doesn't watch us through the cameras. The set up is so nice! I'm not going to give too much away but I loved it and totally unexpected. If you're into escape rooms/break out rooms, I'd definitely try this one out! read more

Chambers was an absolute blast. We had scheduled a day of activities for my sister's birthday and the climax of the event was to do the temple run. We had a group of 10 people scheduled for 1pm. Makai Parking wasn't open, but thankfully there was more than enough street parking for us. The facilities were top notch. The room was a 3rd generation Escape room so had some tech involved to make everything work well. Our guide, Bell, was great. She was Instructive, helpful and informative. She was so quiet that we didn't even see her most of the time! Suffice to say we succeeded and the family wants to come back again to try the VR rooms. We did the live Temple escape room. I've done probably upwards of 20 escape rooms and this is one of my favorites ever. It's such a cool experience - the puzzles are next level and it really feels like you're stepping into an Indiana Jones or The Mummy adventure. Parts of the room felt downright magical, and the whole group really enjoyed it. I felt like the price was truly worth it for the quality of the room and the enjoyment we got out of solving the puzzles. There were also a variety of different puzzles, so it felt like everyone in our group got a moment to shine. Overall, a great experience. We're hoping to come back soon to try one of the VR rooms, but this live room is well worth it.
