I've been hounded...um, asked to write a review since I've been raving about Nightmares Live for a week. Like one of the previous reviewers, I've been to the Goretorium in Las Vegas and paid $40 at the door for a 15-20 minute walk through. They Say that Eli Roth spent $10 million on his attraction. I don't know how much was spent on Nightmares Live, but the props are the same quality and the maze is not much shorter than the Goretorium (if at all). I sort of feel ripped off paying $40, now. Well, you have to experience walking through a Hollywood set at least once in your lifetime so you can compare it to others. :P So saying, Nightmares Live is one of the the best horror venues I've been to (Vegas, Niagara, San Diego, Honolulu and Waipahu). Vegas (haunted hotel) was excellent and N.L. is up there with it. Niagara was different (a dark maze with guys with nightvision goggles stalking you). San Diego wasn't bad (another haunted hotel). Scream 808 in Kakaako advertises "Take your kids...", that says it all (anyone taking young kids to Nightmares Live should be bitch-slapped). But, Waipahu was a joke. My elementary school had a spookier haunted refrigerator box maze! I would have wasted 3 hours of my life that I would never have gotten back if I hadn't had my eReader with me. But wait, we're reviewing Nightmares Live, not the "Haunted" Plantation. If you are afraid of clowns, you'd better bring Depends (what's wrong with clowns, anyway?). These clowns bear fangs and weapons and are covered in gore. Okay, so that makes them scary. There's also psycho Santa (is it just men in costumes that freak people out?) and his helpers (they hold people down for Santa, I guess). The severed body parts and shredded intestines look pretty real until you get up close and poke at them. But that was the same at the Goretorium and those are real Hollywood props. The whimpering couple, who started out cringing in front of us, ended up cowering behind us as we made our way through the maze. The clowns kept us guessing where they would pop out from. Ryo, as Kate hinted, if you know there's a pop out around EVERY corner, it's not so exciting because you expect it. DUH! Waipahu, get a clue! After the 50th GRRRRRH in 10 minutes, not so exciting, anymore. 15 minutes of that sh..t and it feels like 50 boring years. Get some props people! zzzzzzzzzzz. (falling off the soap box) And now back to N.L.: So if you enjoy TransWorld quality props (you Haunted House Fans know what this is), Nightmares Live is the best Haunted attraction this island has to offer at the best price. Wonder what the theme will be next year!!!

Really scary Haunted House! New stuff every year! Great themes! Really creative. The have the most up to date masks, props and more. Last year they had a Haunted Christmas section. Doesn't sound creepy but when you are listening to Silent Night and walk into a room with dead hanging bodies and a scary goblin Santa chasing you you wanna poop yourself. This year's theme is NightMare Circus. All of the folks that are scared of clowns are in for a treat! LOTS OF FREE PARKING! Don't have to worry about parking in a creepy alley or having to pay like some of the other Haunted Houses!

Halloween is drawing near! My fiancé and I headed here to check out this attraction. I'm a screamer and jump at any little thing. Located at Flor-a-dec and parking is at West Marine. Free parking!! We got the fast pass and away we went! The props were great and very detailed and I screamed and closed my eyes holding my fiancé tight as possible. Totally recommend you come and go with a group of people. It adds to the fun and scare. We went right as they open so it wasn't busy.

The coworkers with one of the many creepy things there!

"Such A Scream" - Tom Waits…read more For a screaming good time (15 minutes), come to the Haunted Plantation to lose your voice if you're easily scared, just don't expect a lot of scenery. PARKING: You have to park on the street on Malakeke (free). Don't pull into the parking lot of the Haunted Plantation thinking you can sneak by, you'll get turned away or caught. Crossing Waipahu St was like being in a live Frogger game; only later did the police show up to direct/stop traffic for pedestrians, which was very much appreciated. I don't want to be a real live ghost at the corner after being squashed by a speeding motorist. PRICE: $21.00 cash only. You have reserve your time slot online, then go in person and pay up the cash. Stand in the line that leads up to the metal cubicle that opens up to magically reveal a table that will take all your money. ATM on premises. TOILETS: Port-a-potties. Dark too. Don't drop your phone into the abyss. DRINKS and THINGS: It was really hot in October. We ended up buying bottled water for $2 at the "snack cubicle" - another metal cube that had water, juice, candies for sale as well as those glow stick necklaces that light up and make you an easy target in the dark for the actors to scare. PHOTOS: No photography or video recording inside the HP. They are serious. If you get caught they will escort you off property. ATTRACTION: you wait in line at the entrance of the tunnel that leads you to the many cute plantation homes, the paths are lit with those mini candles on the ground. If you're lucky you're going on OCT 28, 203 SATURDAY on a full moon, so you can see better. Each home has a bunch of scare actors that dart across you, come up to your face, skittle on the floor, jump out from behind doors and corners, slam and pound the floor and boards. WEAR SHOES. One of the actors meant to slam the floor with his foot only to stomp on my husband's (protected) foot. Scared people may back into you and step onto your feet as well. If you're easily spooked, you'll get a lovely thrill and scream your head off. My son didn't scream once, but he's not easily scared. My husband screamed once. I screamed the whole way. I wish there was more scenery other than dark dimly lit rooms. There was only one memorable one, a barber-shop that had some light in them. If the owners of 17A are reading this, let me come do the mood lighting for future haunted plantations, I can make the houses a LOT scarier with blue, green, purple, red or orange lighting or a combo. I do my own haunted scenes at home and use theatrical lighting to make things pop. TIPS: Take cash, pee/poo at home, wear covered shoes, drink cold water in your car before walking over, wear diaper. RETURN FACTOR: Only if my vocal cords can handle it.

Let me just get to the point ... I spent $20 for this piece of garbage. You heard me .. garbage. The whole production felt too amateurish ... I wasn't even scared. Not once. This years theme was The Revenge of Dr. Carnage and Zombie Paintball bleh bleh. They couldn't even get that right. Having a bunch of people or 'actors' jump out and scream directly in your face really isn't scary, life threatening nor would it make me anxious. Seriously. It annoyed me to no end. The whole experience was just too stereo typical. None of the actors were convincing. It was like watching the worst B rated horror movie ever. It bored me and I wished they gave out refunds. I'd like to give them no stars ... that should be implemented here on yelp ... or to give out negative stars even that would suffice. Needless to say, walking through Dr. Carnage = Boring The Zombie paintball = Stupid Considering the fact that years ago when I was in the states, I did the BlackOut Haunted House in LA and I lasted 3 hours in the McKamey Manor in San Diego .. nothing really compares to either of those haunted houses ... but they were more psychological as opposed to gory. They were on my bucket list and I'm glad I got the chance to do those two :) There's a wait list for the McKamey Manor if anyone's interested. If your a masochist, you'll love them! It's truly hardcore ... :D BUMP*. Would I ever go to Scream 808's 'haunt' again? Hellz NO! Not even if someone else paid for it! Save your money and make the trek to Waipahu and go to Haunted Plantation.

Knowing what you are walking into would have helped me enjoy this better. There's no haunted house. It's simply just a zombie shooting. It's one small room. The zombies are behind a fence. You shoot them and your done. They might come after you and you can still shoot them. Just don't shoot the helpers. The helpers are a little too close making it a little dangerous for them, in my opinion. Give it a whirl, pretty cool. Will prob take some friends to shoot at the zombies before they are closed.

I haven't written a review for any business yet and this is definitely worth my first review!! I did this back in 2015 and let me just say I have never experienced a haunted house like this ever before - Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios doesn't even come CLOSE to this one! I really hate calling this a "haunted house" because its soo sooo soooooo much more than that. It's more like a "theatrical experience" where you feel like you've just been placed INSIDE a freakin' horror movie. My adrenaline and heart raced from the beginning to the end. Yes, you will be touched, pulled and grabbed but NOT tortured or put through any pain! You may have to run, hide, crawl and jump out of windows (no joke). So if you have any injuries that'll prevent you from being able to do these things - you probably shouldn't do this. Also, we got reeeeally dirtied up at the end of it - so definitely wear something you don't mind getting stained or dirty. I 100% recommend this to any thrill seekers who want to experience more than just your typical haunted house. Trust me, this is something that you won't be able to compare to any haunted house you'll ever do. You'll most like brag about this experience to everyone you know, like I did for the past 2 years! In 2015, this experience was done at the Waipahu Plantation but its being held at a new undisclosed venue this year, which makes it even better - I love surprises! I booked this ON my birthday - so I'm super super excited!!! I seriously can't wait!!

So I slacked a bit; this review is a couple of weeks late *embarrassed look* :X…read more A friend had found out about the Outbreak Experience online; knowing that I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie, he asked me to go. Getting the tickets ($25 each) seemed to be pretty easy; he bought/reserved our place on the website, which informed us to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the time chosen time. Followed directions and arrived 15 minutes early. Theyre located in Ward Warehouse village on the second level, a little next to Kincaids. Checked into a "front desk" there, where they took our printout and gave us actual tickets, then told us to hang around until the show started. Our group was fairly small compared to the other yelper's groups (45? yikes); i think our group had about 10-12 people, which was a decent size for the experience. As others have stated, the whole thing didn't seem to be worth the amount we paid: The breakdown: The Good: -The actors playing the soldiers were pretty good overall. They kept in character, and did crack a few jokes here and there. -The set was made pretty well. It contained a few different rooms that we had to run through. -The little "mission"/puzzle was a little entertaining; easy enough to solve but made us think. The Bleh: -The storyline was a major bummer. The story just seemed incomplete with a bunch of holes in it. We were left with a lot of unanswered questions -Definitely not for kids; I can see where people could take offense to the jokes that were cracked. One guy in particular kept getting picked on, which i think started to irritate him. -There were some things that just weren't fully explained; we were given blinking lights, but if they turn red, we're infected? But not really? I think its just touch activated; so when we all huddled together when the zombies first came out, we of course all turned red. -wtheck happened to the doctor, yall?? -The ending was really anti-climatic. A REAL let down. Overall, although it had its moments, I'd recommend others going elsewhere. I think it overall has potential, but *shrugs*.
