They told us that the actors were not allowed to touch us. Nor can we touch them. Which is good since you hear the people screaming! During our walk, the whole venue looked like a creepy museum. I noticed from the corner of my eye, the first part, a Victorian zombie started to follow us. You can see the neck collar dress and the crazy curly wig. The silhouette does not make it easier. Then on the second half, in the clown section, a large court jester followed us. It makes it more creepier since we cannot see his face. Near the end, a murder in black with a chain saw chased us out! I loved seeing other people run quickly away from the spot! The props were very well made. My compliments to the artists involved in this project! I enjoyed coming here for Halloween. Come with a group of friends!

Wouldn't recommend bringing anyone 12 or younger unless they're a scare fanatic. It was the attraction so all there is, is a big line to get in, an atm cause it's CASH only, and the spot to pay for the tickets. SLAAYYYYY

"Such A Scream" - Tom Waits…read more For a screaming good time (15 minutes), come to the Haunted Plantation to lose your voice if you're easily scared, just don't expect a lot of scenery. PARKING: You have to park on the street on Malakeke (free). Don't pull into the parking lot of the Haunted Plantation thinking you can sneak by, you'll get turned away or caught. Crossing Waipahu St was like being in a live Frogger game; only later did the police show up to direct/stop traffic for pedestrians, which was very much appreciated. I don't want to be a real live ghost at the corner after being squashed by a speeding motorist. PRICE: $21.00 cash only. You have reserve your time slot online, then go in person and pay up the cash. Stand in the line that leads up to the metal cubicle that opens up to magically reveal a table that will take all your money. ATM on premises. TOILETS: Port-a-potties. Dark too. Don't drop your phone into the abyss. DRINKS and THINGS: It was really hot in October. We ended up buying bottled water for $2 at the "snack cubicle" - another metal cube that had water, juice, candies for sale as well as those glow stick necklaces that light up and make you an easy target in the dark for the actors to scare. PHOTOS: No photography or video recording inside the HP. They are serious. If you get caught they will escort you off property. ATTRACTION: you wait in line at the entrance of the tunnel that leads you to the many cute plantation homes, the paths are lit with those mini candles on the ground. If you're lucky you're going on OCT 28, 203 SATURDAY on a full moon, so you can see better. Each home has a bunch of scare actors that dart across you, come up to your face, skittle on the floor, jump out from behind doors and corners, slam and pound the floor and boards. WEAR SHOES. One of the actors meant to slam the floor with his foot only to stomp on my husband's (protected) foot. Scared people may back into you and step onto your feet as well. If you're easily spooked, you'll get a lovely thrill and scream your head off. My son didn't scream once, but he's not easily scared. My husband screamed once. I screamed the whole way. I wish there was more scenery other than dark dimly lit rooms. There was only one memorable one, a barber-shop that had some light in them. If the owners of 17A are reading this, let me come do the mood lighting for future haunted plantations, I can make the houses a LOT scarier with blue, green, purple, red or orange lighting or a combo. I do my own haunted scenes at home and use theatrical lighting to make things pop. TIPS: Take cash, pee/poo at home, wear covered shoes, drink cold water in your car before walking over, wear diaper. RETURN FACTOR: Only if my vocal cords can handle it.

I haven't written a review for any business yet and this is definitely worth my first review!! I did this back in 2015 and let me just say I have never experienced a haunted house like this ever before - Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios doesn't even come CLOSE to this one! I really hate calling this a "haunted house" because its soo sooo soooooo much more than that. It's more like a "theatrical experience" where you feel like you've just been placed INSIDE a freakin' horror movie. My adrenaline and heart raced from the beginning to the end. Yes, you will be touched, pulled and grabbed but NOT tortured or put through any pain! You may have to run, hide, crawl and jump out of windows (no joke). So if you have any injuries that'll prevent you from being able to do these things - you probably shouldn't do this. Also, we got reeeeally dirtied up at the end of it - so definitely wear something you don't mind getting stained or dirty. I 100% recommend this to any thrill seekers who want to experience more than just your typical haunted house. Trust me, this is something that you won't be able to compare to any haunted house you'll ever do. You'll most like brag about this experience to everyone you know, like I did for the past 2 years! In 2015, this experience was done at the Waipahu Plantation but its being held at a new undisclosed venue this year, which makes it even better - I love surprises! I booked this ON my birthday - so I'm super super excited!!! I seriously can't wait!!

I'm not sure what possessed me to go to this one ... I had mainly got the VIP tickets that combined…read moreboth this and Haunted Plantation for $40 ... because who doesn't like front of the line tickets for Haunted Plantation!!! Let's just say, I wish I had gone with my first instincts and not gone. I knew it was going to be crap, I knew it was going to be a waste of time. Just like when I watched the trailer for it .... I had laughed the whole time. It was ridiculous. So why didn't I just give the tickets away or just not go? Especially since it was Haunted Plantation I was most excited for? I have no answer for that. I think maybe I didn't want to waste it .. who knows. Anywho, I'm glad I went so that I could tell all of you lovely Yeeps that ... next year PLEASE save your money and DO NOT BOTHER GOING!!!! It was poorly executed, the 'actors' were horrible, the story line was boring as hell and the make up .... nope, nope, nope. It wasn't scary at all and I felt with all the standing, bending down and 'running', I was doing a poor cardio workout ... you know like the ones they had in the 80s and 90s on VHS (shhhh .... I did say VHS) I mean .... you'd think that with last years one sucking so bad, they'd make this years one better. It's clearly not the case here. I'd give it a negative 0 if I could. Please make next years one more believable and just don't do the zombie theme anymore. It was horrible .... and please get some one more experienced to do your props and especially the damn makeup. Other wise ... just discontinue it ....

So I slacked a bit; this review is a couple of weeks late *embarrassed look* :X…read more A friend had found out about the Outbreak Experience online; knowing that I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie, he asked me to go. Getting the tickets ($25 each) seemed to be pretty easy; he bought/reserved our place on the website, which informed us to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the time chosen time. Followed directions and arrived 15 minutes early. Theyre located in Ward Warehouse village on the second level, a little next to Kincaids. Checked into a "front desk" there, where they took our printout and gave us actual tickets, then told us to hang around until the show started. Our group was fairly small compared to the other yelper's groups (45? yikes); i think our group had about 10-12 people, which was a decent size for the experience. As others have stated, the whole thing didn't seem to be worth the amount we paid: The breakdown: The Good: -The actors playing the soldiers were pretty good overall. They kept in character, and did crack a few jokes here and there. -The set was made pretty well. It contained a few different rooms that we had to run through. -The little "mission"/puzzle was a little entertaining; easy enough to solve but made us think. The Bleh: -The storyline was a major bummer. The story just seemed incomplete with a bunch of holes in it. We were left with a lot of unanswered questions -Definitely not for kids; I can see where people could take offense to the jokes that were cracked. One guy in particular kept getting picked on, which i think started to irritate him. -There were some things that just weren't fully explained; we were given blinking lights, but if they turn red, we're infected? But not really? I think its just touch activated; so when we all huddled together when the zombies first came out, we of course all turned red. -wtheck happened to the doctor, yall?? -The ending was really anti-climatic. A REAL let down. Overall, although it had its moments, I'd recommend others going elsewhere. I think it overall has potential, but *shrugs*.
