Family of three stayed at Chalet View Lodge for 2 nights 11/21- 11/23/12. We stayed in the Deluxe Terrace Suite Room 304. First I would like to say that the room was nice, and clean. I am giving the room a 4 star and the dinner a 2 star. We have stayed at this hotel numerous of time. When we first stayed at this hotel, we stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin with a kitchen, the next stay was The Villa with a kitchen, which is gorgeous, and this time the family suite- no kitchen. We decided not to cook our meals this year, since our stay was so short, and stay in a room with no kitchen. We have never had any complaint about this hotel until this stay. The telephone in the room did not work, there were a roaring noise when you made a call, and it was very annoying. I called the front desk,
and another phone was brought to the room, and it was the same way.... We decided to call the front desk back to make Thanksgiving dinner reservations at the Chalet Grille, located inside the lobby. we made reservations for 6:30 pm. We requested the waiter to bring us some dark meat from the turkey, her reply was that we would get both. While waiting for our meal, the waiter brought the soup and bread to the table, the bread was hard and some of it was burnt. We requested her to bring us some more bread. When our meal was brought to us, we were really disappointed that our meal came to us barely warm, also we didn't get dark meat with our turkey. It took them about 15 minutes to bring out the food. We asked the waiter if she could bring us some dark meat, also I asked if we could be brought out another plate of hot food, because it was cold. We waited another 10 to 15 minutes for the food. At that point we really had lost our appetite, but still trying not to spoil our thanksgiving day. When the hot food was brought, we really didn't want to eat, we ate some and asked for a take out box. Our bill came to roughly about $91.00 for the three of us. We have come to realize that we will go back to renting rooms with a kitchen, so we can cook our own meals. The next day was check out, and we wanted to talk to Megan (the manager). We informed Megan about our experience we had at dinner reservations, and that we were disappointed with our stay. I told her that we had a history of staying at Chalet and we have referred others to Chalet. Also I told her that I didn't see why our food was barely warm when they brought it to our table. Megan did hear the complaint and and she offered us a discount on our room. We are not sure if we will stay at this hotel again, but if we decide to stay there, we will not eat in the restaurant. read more
