Second time camping here and both experiences have been great. The staff have always been helpful and friendly. And I don't say that lightly. If the staff happen to read this, please know I genuinely appreciate how nice and professional you all are. The site we choose has full hookups and we've never had an issue. The campground has cable and WiFi if that's something important to you. They also do a really fun campground trick or treat during the Halloween season (call for dates) where all dress up, decorate their spots and hand out candy to the kids. The campground has plenty of shade which is nice. They also have a dog park with poop bags at the ready. They do have a store, but it is limited. Overall great experience and we will return. read more

One of our favorite places to camp. It's getting pretty popular though to you will most likely need to plan ahead and book. If you don't have a camper, they do offer some nice cabins you can stay in. They are small and clean but have no heat or air, which is common. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly. That's really what makes this place what it is. This park is great. Third year here at LB. Centrally located to Graegle, Portola, Quincy great badin lakes area. All the staff are great. They run a very clean park. Have a big pet area, small store and laundry house. The interior sites are mostly for vacationing campers while the outside spaces are usually taken for residents of local areas( mostly non occupied and they come on weekends). Do not stay here unless you like ridiculous rules and a staff of megalomaniacs. Upon checking in got yelled at by one of the staff members for having my dog on the edge of the grass. Additionally, throughout the park, cabins and facility they have ridiculous rules posted: "Do not unplug lamp from outlet", "limit showers to 3-5 min; extreme drought", "Keep dogs off grass" etc. The place is archaic and in need of an update. TV's in cabins are relics from 1980s with VHS, bathrooms are old and need a renovation. Front desk staff was rude and refused to give us back money for leaving early, since the conditions were subpar. read more

We are very pleased with Little Bear RV Park. This is our third year camping here and our only regret is that we didn't discover it sooner. We camped for 10 consecutive summers in South Lake Tahoe, and though Tahoe is beautiful, it has become overrun with tourism and homeless. Needless to say, being in a place like Blairsden/Graegle is filled with stunning beauty, fresh mountain air and nice people. The staff at Little Bear are kind and helpful. The grounds are well-kept, the bathrooms are clean and the fact that no tents are allowed helps keep the place at the upper-end of a mountain RV park experience. There is plenty of golf nearby with some great places to eat as well. If you play golf, be sure to ask for the discount coupons at check-in for a couple of nice local courses (Plumas Pines and The Dragon). Little Bear, Big Service! It is the people that make this park so special. From the moment you pull in they are there to guide you into your site. They delivered an extra table for our large group. The brought ice cream to each site for a special treat. When our propane ran out, they picked up our tank, filled it up and returned it. Lastly, we lost a cotter pin for a trailer and they tried to find one for us. We will come back here every year. Wonderful overnight getaway in Graeagle Ca. Close to the refreshing Mill pond (locals say there are leeches in the mud but we had no problem). Also lakes nearby if you'd rather explore out of town a little bit. The trains are close and super loud at night so you may want to request a cabin on the other side of the park but we were close to the clean bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers so that's a plus in my book and I like trains. ‍ Employees were helpful and friendly and grounds were clean. Only thing was there were some wasps hanging around our deck so we didn't sit there but at the picnic table with umbrella which was in the shade. Rooms are bare bones with electric only but they do come with a fan and small tv with a couple vcr tapes if you have kiddos. There is a bunk bed and a double bed, a mirror and some hooks. (No closet). The bed was pretty hard but you bring your own bedding so next time we will bring padding! Otherwise a very fun place to stay and near lots of quaint shops and places to eat. Rates are reasonable so will definitely go again!! read more

TERRIBLE service! Little bear has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in all my life staff was rude and so inconsiderate of your privacy. We paid and were given tours of our campsite and once we were settled in old man came in screaming at the top of his lungs saying just because we paid and received keys doesn't mean we are check in? Excuse me, how does that even make sense? The place is near a train track that will way you up 3 times a night. the entire place is dirty not to mention the bathrooms were awful and disgusting avoid this place at all costs. read more

I would give it less stars if I could. The staff is very rude! My husband and I love to find random campgrounds all around Nevada, California and Oregon and this is the worst place we have ever been to. We pulled up and the camp host greeted us by asking if we were lost or looking for something. We already had reservations for three nights so we let her know we have a campsite reserved. The camp host looked super annoyed and checked us in. She told us to go ahead so we did, still excited about the new spot we found. The male camp host came rushing behind us yelling so loud that other guest came out to see what was going on. He started screaming that we need to check in, we let him know that we just did and showed him our passes. He started screaming that we should have waited for him although we were never told to wait we apologized. He got on the radio and said he is lucky he is with his wife or I would have taken him out. The male camp host drove two times every hour well over 7 miles per hour (as is posted) in a loud golfcart. The next day while we were having lunch outside the camp host started blowing dirt and swigs with his leaf blower everywhere we asked if he could now blow it our way he told us to eat inside our trailer and to close the windows if it was a problem. This was our breaking point we packed our stuff and left we could not stand to stay another night we would rather lose out on our money than to deal with horrible people. I could deal with the super loud train that wakes you up 3 times at night and the dirty bathroom but the camp host were just awful. DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

We rented a cabin for one night. The park is very clean and the cabin and bathrooms were very, very clean. I have two complaints - one is just the constant barrage of negative messaging from the place. As soon as you book you start getting emails telling you off LOL! If you show up before check in you can wait outside by the dumpsters. If you try and check in after it is closed you can sleep out there and in the morning you will be "escorted" to your camp site. I suggest you word it in a more positive manner (I worked retail my entire life - no negative messages!) and only say it once. I get that there are a few people out there that are going to break every one of your rules. I have ran an Airbnb INSIDE my house for five years. But all of those emails are not going to stop those people and it becomes offensive to those of us who are adults and act as such. Second - the bed SUCKED. It does NOT accommodate two adults. It is too small (there was enough room to put a queen in there) and it sinks to the middle so you both slide into each other. Half way through the night I had to pull have the bedding and go to the bunk bed. They have these mattress toppers that are very slippery. You have to bring your own bedding. If you decide to do it - don't bring a slippery sleeping bag. You spend the entire night trying to keep it on the bed. read more

The 4 1/2 stars are well deserved. We had a great time. The cabin was clean and cozy. Bathrooms were warm and clean also. They do need some new shower heads though. There is gravel everywhere on the dirt and it does a great job of keeping the dust down. The roads are paved so you don't get a cloud of dust on everything. The staff is very attentive, and they have several games available to play. We played cornhole, and shuffleboard. Some don't like the trains, but our cabin was very close to the tracks, and we just got used to it. It was very quiet early each evening, so they keep the kid noise in check and virtually no barking dogs. Great job, we will be back. Thank you. read more

From the moment we pulled in, we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. This was our 2nd outing with our 21.5' travel trailer. After we checked in, one of the on site staff guided us in his cart to our spot. He got us into our spot perfectly. The next day we had an issue with a flat tire, on our truck. Jessie brought a compressor and filled it up for us and told us there is a Les Schwab in Portola, 15 min. drive away. Les Schwab was awesome, air conditioned waiting room and flat was fixed within 15 min., no charge. They are the BEST! The next day we had a challenge with our awning. David brought a ladder over and helped us extend it. When we checked out, Jessie guided us out to the Dump Station(all they had available for a last minute reservation) he did it for us and helped us with our sway bar. They are all about CLEANLINESS and SERVICE!!!! 92 spots, it was delightful! We never had to stress. We met 3 other families there and we will definitely be back very soon! It is within minutes to lakes, trails, hiking, ponds, golfing, little shops, market and their little RV store has a few supplies/groceries and ice. We left giving Jessie a BIG hug!!!! We are beginner Trailer Campers, so we didn't want to go too far from Reno, this is the place!! Very clean and tidy! All services are available, showers,water, electrical, TV (if you must).... The only downside for me was it sets next to railroad tracks, so about 1:00am, and a few more times the Train whistle blows! Bring ear plugs...That doesn't seem to bother anyone and also many of the camp sites are taken by year round folks. We had a wonderful spot though. Also really great folks at the front desk and very reasonable! There is ice and propane available too. Overall it was a great 3 days for us!! Check it out! read more

BEWARE!!!! Stay way! Worse place I have even been! Liars and thiefs, I was told there is good fishing, nope creek is dry, covered with weeds, Then they tried to put my 34ft Motorhome between a bunch of pine trees, I couldn't open any slides, so I decided to find another place, was there maybe 10 min, would not refund me 1 penny, I even asked for 1/2 of my money back, NO doing!!! As a former park ranger, I've worked in and visited many campgrounds. There are four problems I see with this one: 1) The train horn. My daughters were both revcovering from an illness and needed good sleep at night. Todd put them in one of the cabins closest to the raliroad crossing, so my daughters couldn't sleep and had to turn around and go home. Todd would give no refund. "I'm used to the trains", he said. 2) The leaf blower. The town where I'm from has banned gas leaf blowers, but not Little Bear. They blow the roads daily, blowing the dust into the campsites. When I told the person blowing that my wife has asthma, he refused to move away from our campsite and said, "Close your windows". Campground roads in the most popular campgropnds (national and state parks) leave their roads unblown, which adds to the rustic, natural feel of camping. 3) Sanitation: My wife, a public health nurse, was told that they clean the bathroom surfaces every hour, but she saw no evidence of that, as wiping down every surface takes at theast 1/2 hour. This was during the Covid-19 pandemic. 4) Congeniality. Many campgrounds are open, friendly places, with campers sitting around outside and children running around playing. Not so much at this one. I was told that many of the trailers are vacant most of the time, used occasionally by their absentee owners. Socially, the place has a cold feel. So - if you value a quiet (except for the trains), tidy (but not necessarily truly sanitary) place where you can be left alone, then this place is for you. It's just not for me. read more

When you pull in, you are greeted by a cute entrance with pretty flowers and bushes. Check in was a snap and the lady inside was so friendly and nice. You are lead to your space by an employee and he even helps you get into your spot. The park is VERY clean! Everything is gravel except the driveways, this is nice so there is no dust. There are grassy areas if you want to lay on grass or play games. They do offer WIFI, but it is basically nonexistent. We tried to walk closer to the office to connect, but once you get back to your space (At least where were in the far back corner), it disappears. There is a freight train that goes by every so often and I LOVE IT! I love hearing the horns echoing though the trees and valley. The office/store has some RV items if you need, they also sell ice. There is a propane place across the road. Overall, I rally like this place. We cannot wait to get back soon. read more

We have only been RV'ing for a few months, but this is the most beautiful park I have ever seen. The service is amazing with several staff available to lead you to your site and help you get settled. The setting is gorgeous, in the pines and right by the river. When we first pulled in I was very disappointed with our site as our awning was facing the street on a corner. The owner came out to help us get turned around and what I thought was the worst site in the park turned out to be a sweet little private space that we love. Oh we are still here! Even though it's the 4th of July week, its really quiet. Every time someone leaves, a staff member comes out in a golf cart to ensure that everything is perfect in the site for the next campers. The rates are very reasonable, there are cute towns with bars and restaurants and unique shops, (don't miss the hardware store in Blairsden). And the lakes basin rec area is nearby. I am a little biased about the area as I lived near Downieville as a child and we spent many summers tent camping nearby. Wel, heading out for pizza tonight, I will leave a review once we decide where to go. Can't say enough good things about this place, I would definitely come here again!!! read more

I had my first stay here a few weeks back. It is located in what I consider one of California's most under appreciated areas, the Plumas National Forest. When you first arrive you are greeted by a clean and well kept area, as well as friendly staff. They escort you to your site and help you park (acting as a spotter and guiding you). The grounds are very clean with nice green areas and gravel parking pads. The bathrooms are clean as well. The little store is convenient, and ice is reasonable at only $2 per bag! This is a great place to set up a "home base" and explore the local area. read more

This is the 3rd year our RV group, the Roving Roosters out of Napa CA, have had an outing at Little Bear a RV Park. The first year was 2016 and we liked it so much we came back in 2018 (prior commitments in 2017 prevented us from returning then), and have recently completed another trip there in 2019. The park is immaculate, the staff are friendly and efficient, the scenery is beautiful, and the owner Todd goes out of his way to be very accommodating. They are dog friendly and have a large area set aside for our fur buddies to frolic. We are looking forward to returning in 2020. read more

We just returned yesterday from a great 4 days at Little Bear RV Park. There are new owners that are personable, helpful and downright nice! They keep the park immaculate. The grounds are kept beautifully, you always see them out and about doing something to better the place. The bathrooms were spotless and well maintained a number of times throughout the day. The area is beautiful in itself. The park is quite, but there are trains that go by quite close to the park during the day and a number of times at night. That seems to be the only downside. We will go back again without fail. If you want a quite place to go, I would suggest Little Bear RV Park. They are open seasonally from April thru October. read more

What a cool place to relax and enjoy all this area has to offer: golf, fishing, hiking, floating the river. We loved our stay at Little Bear. Our only issue is that is was so hot when we were there and we had little shade. We went up to Gold Lake one afternoon and spend a nice cool few hours at the shore of the lake. Back at the campground: The owner is very nice and accommodating. There are two, (at least) couples that do the office and park work that were very nice folks too. We will be going back there next year and look forward to our visit. read more

This was my first stay at Little Bear. I stayed in a cabin. What an adorable setting! A double bed and a bunk bed. Perfect for me and my kids. Because of the gorgeous setting and all the pine trees and their shade the cabin stayed relatively cool in the tempurature over 90 degrees. The setting was beautiful, we spent time walking the grounds, playing the games available, and at the lake in Graeagle, and we took a trip up to Gold Lake, which was about 20 degrees cooler - SUCH a wonderful experience, can't wait to come back read more

Gorgeous property with spacious sites. Host was super helpful in getting us parked among the many beautiful pine trees. We have a travel trailer and were traveling with a motor home. Camped here for a week in a class A motor home. Luv'd every minute - hated to leave. The park is about the cleanest I have seen. Beautiful green and pretty flowers to welcome you. Most sites are spacious. Reasonable rates. The staff and owner go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be.
