    Our home for the night!

Wonderful overnight getaway in Graeagle Ca. Close to the refreshing Mill pond (locals say there are leeches in the mud but we had no problem). Also lakes nearby if you'd rather explore out of town a little bit. The trains are close and super loud at night so you may want to request a cabin on the other side of the park but we were close to the clean bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers so that's a plus in my book and I like trains. ‍ Employees were helpful and friendly and grounds were clean. Only thing was there were some wasps hanging around our deck so we didn't sit there but at the picnic table with umbrella which was in the shade. Rooms are bare bones with electric only but they do come with a fan and small tv with a couple vcr tapes if you have kiddos. There is a bunk bed and a double bed, a mirror and some hooks. (No closet). The bed was pretty hard but you bring your own bedding so next time we will bring padding! Otherwise a very fun place to stay and near lots of quaint shops and places to eat. Rates are reasonable so will definitely go again!!

TERRIBLE service! Little bear has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in all my life staff was rude and so inconsiderate of your privacy. We paid and were given tours of our campsite and once we were settled in old man came in screaming at the top of his lungs saying just because we paid and received keys doesn't mean we are check in? Excuse me, how does that even make sense? The place is near a train track that will way you up 3 times a night. the entire place is dirty not to mention the bathrooms were awful and disgusting avoid this place at all costs.

It's amazing, beautiful, clean and the staff are so nice. FYI there is a train that blows it's very loud horn as it drives by at all times at night. To be honest the first time it was 2am and scared the Sh-t out of us. Lol. But over all we loved it!

Needless to say, I called to cancel our reservations. I knew there would be a $50 cancellation fee no problem. In the fine print of the FAQ page, it says reservations must be cancelled at least 10 days prior (I didn't see that). I told the lady owner why we were cancelling. She said sorry, those are the rules and I understand what you are going through because I am about to lose my spouse. Losing a spouse is extremely difficult, but it is not even close to losing a child, especially when your spouse is elderly. It was really just a complete lack of empathy.

It's a hidden gem, compared to more popular, overcrowded nature areas. Mike and Brandi were super responsive and helpful via text and in person. It truly is a family business so always happy to support that. We stayed at one of the two campsites and it seems like, at least when we were there, the rest of the RV park folks there were mostly chill, quiet seniors. We helped ourselves to free hot showers (!!!!) and had the sparkling clean restrooms pretty much to ourselves the entire weekend. Nice hiking trail on their property, games and activities available if you choose. We chose to SUP, check out all the pretty lakes in the area. Highly recommend this campground, will visit again.

Only complaint is Dale and the boys working on their trucks ALL NIGHT LONG. I don't know what they were on but it rhymes with Shmeth. People actually live on the SE side of the campground so unless you're in to tweakers banging on things all night, don't stay on that side of the campground. Super loud metal on metal and welding and grinding. I didn't plan on staying at an auto shop but here we are. So we have to be quiet after 10 but they can rage all night? No thanks I do appreciate the care that the owners have put in to this spot, again, super clean and very well maintained. Location is great for golf, local restaurants etc. I'd stay here again but Dale and the boys better put their tools away. Other than that, super great experience

It is often simply used as overflow for the latter. However, although much smaller than Gold Lake, it is no less beautiful, and the lack of motorized watercraft give it a quieter, more serene appearance. Not camping at the time, we were simply looking for a nice lake to have a picnic by that was accessible by car. In the Lakes Basin area, in spite of what everyone says, this is no mean feat. The forest service seems to assume that the great majority of users have four-wheel-drive vehicles anyway, so no sense wasting money fixing the multitude of hazardous potholes on seemingly every access road. At this campground, we took one look at the dirt campground road and its giant potholes, and aborted an attempt to drive in. Fortunately, off the highway just south of the entrance is a large dirt area to park, fairly devoid of holes, that had a walk-in path to the campground and the lake. Goose Lake is a short walk from that parking area, and if you don't mind sitting on a rock, there is an abundance of beautiful areas to have lunch by and enjoy the water. Even if you only have a short amount of time, Goose Lake is worth a visit. The campground is small, with only 13 spots, and was quite quiet during our midday visit. The big disadvantage to this campground: no water. You would probably need to make visits to nearby Gold Lake and refill water supplies. The vault toilet was clean and relatively odor free. The daily camping fee is only $10, and does not take reservations. To reach the campground, go south on Highway 89 from Graeagle for 2 miles, then proceed south for 12 miles on the Gold Lake Highway. Definitely a four star for day use, but potholes and the lack of water knocks it down a star for camping...

The bathroom and showers are really nice. A short downhill hike takes you to a beautiful swimming hole along the Yuba River. Two adorable tent spots overlook the river. In late June, the temps were warm but comfortable during the day, and cooler in the evening and morning. The spaces are pretty close together, which was perfectly fine with our courteous neighbors. Your driving and reversing skills need to be strong, there is not a lot of room for error with some of the tighter spaces. They have a nice area as the designated dog potty place, dogs are expected to stay on leash and behave appropriately. We didn't have any problems and there isn't a big list of overly strict rules, but we did feel that the camp hosts would be helpful and put a quick stop to any misbehavior in the park. Across the road from the park is the Sierra Country Store where you'll find basic grocery items and an amazing deli counter with sandwiches, burgers, and milkshakes. We heard great things about the nearby Red Moose Cafe from our hosts and several neighbors, but we didn't make it in this trip. We'll definitely stay again and look forward to exploring more!
