We had no choice but to travel north since the freeway was closed into Reno and traffic in the north valleys was catastrophic gridlock. We had to travel north on Red Rock to 395. Through cell phone tower failure when my wife got a brief bar of reception she reached out to River Pines and Jess was amazing and was able to get us a room. We arrived there around 10:45 pm and Jess was waiting for us. The hospitality, empathy and kindness demonstrated by the owner and staff at the resort was so genuine and truly appreciated. We stayed 3 nights until we could return home once the evacuation was downgraded. Despite our circumstances the staff made our stay as pleasant as possible. My wife and I can't thank River Pines enough for being so accommodating to us. We spend a lot of time in Graeagle and the kindness shown by everyone we had contact with in the area just truly demonstrates why Graeagle is a special place.

Our virtual tour with Rachel made us fall in love with the venue; Kevin and Karen worked with us to make our budget work, Joe gave us a wonderful tour when we returned after booking; and Ashleigh patiently answered all of my questions--no matter how late I sent them. The venue itself feels like something out of a storybook. Every one of our guests raved about the beautiful setting, the accommodations, the incredible staff, the ceremony site, and even the fact that there wasn't a restrictive noise ordinance. Everything exceeded our expectations. Not a day has gone by since our wedding that I haven't said, "I wish I could do it all over again." I searched forest wedding and Twenty Mile House was the very first one that came up. We had compared prices to similar venues but found it ridiculous that for the same price, we would only have the venue, tables and chairs at the other places. So with that, Twenty Mile House became the winner. We absolutely loved the vintage cozy look of the homes, the miles and miles of forestation leading up to and within the venue, and the most amazing staff i have ever experienced with. Both Rachel and Ashliegh were absolutely amazing! They both listened and made all of my requests come true. Some had to be compromised, but it didn't change much of my vision. Our bartender Jasper was absolutely amazing and so kind. The lights, the vibe, the music, all of the vendors... they all worked together like a well oiled machine and made every wedding planning moment up to the wedding day absolutely perfect. I'm a chill bride and solely trusted the vendors and Ashliegh on their skills and talent. I'd be lying if I wasn't nervous at times, but said yes when they said "trust us". They absolutely delivered! The cake was exactly how I'd envisioned it and was so delicious, the food was a huge hit for my husband and I and our guests (I wanted to takr home the meatballs and freeze them), the DJ was perfection, the florals were immaculate (more than what i had expected), and the photographer Rachelle was sooo kind and made our little awkward selves so comfortable. Would definitely stay here again (all while I haven't actually slept here yet ) we also walked down to Martha's Kitchen and not only was the food DELICIOUS the waitress was also so sweet and attentive! Lucky for us we hit the jack pot and definitely realized after driving by all the other resorts, cabins, and inns that we ended up in the best one. Of all the other places you could tell these cabins had the best views and though close to each other still felt secluded. You have a full view of the meadow and mountains, not just the highway or another property across the road; we even saw a bunch of deer including a big buck! The whole property is also well past a golf corse so you really are tucked away. They are very dog friendly with lots of poop bags and trash cans as well a bag of treats at check in, they even will walk your dog if asked! They have free breakfast and unlike a many places it's not buffet style, they seat you and serve it up just like a typical restaurant breakfast but I wouldn't have minded a bit more variety. We can't wait to come back and stay in another cabin next time, maybe deeper in fall or even after a bit of snow; you can tell this property is breath taking any time of year.
