Steak tacos
NiNi F.

My rating is strictly based on food and price for quantity. The place is decorated nicely. There's a few booths. I can see it getting crowded fast because it's not that large. Service wasn't an issue. Went on taco Tues/happy hr. Tacos are $1 probably a red flag there. So to get the tacos for $1 you have to buy 3 of the same records, and a drink which are about $16-17. Had steak and chicken tacos. Steak tacos came out cold had to send them back. Came back out and lacked flavor and tasted as if they boiled the steak instead of grilled. The chicken was gooey/gummy. Now the wing dings and fries were actually good. We got the Chalet sauce. Which is close to buffalo sauce. But to pay $16 for 6 wing dings not even whole wings is ridiculous!!! I know they have to make their monies but you can buy a pack of wings cheaper than 16. And there's a service fee/gratuity automatically added to the bill.

Girl Dinner

Came here for the girl dinner and we luckily had the early reservation because it ended up getting packed in there. The serving sizes were smaller than what I imagined but still was enough and I cleaned my plate. The garlic parm wings were really good just wish it was 6 vs 4. The drinks were also tasty and glad it was 2 cocktails. Service wasn't really there for me. I've been to this location a couple times to eat and for nightlife and overall it's an okay spot.

Stumbled upon this gem on Valentine's Day and I lovedddddd every bit of my experience! For starters, they had cute valentines themed drinks and they were so tasty! They also decorated for Valentine's Day and it was soooooo aesthetically pleasing, great picture props! The music was also a viiiiibe -- whoever was DJing understood the assignment that day! Our server's name was Alon, and she was amazing! Very attentive, sweet, and informative. I told her I needed her name so that people would know who to look for when they visited next lol. She maintained great service, even when it got busy and she had to help others! Now, let's get to the part that matters most: the food! My best friend and I both had their burgers -- so fillingggggggggg and the house made aioli chefs kiss! We already decided we'll be back to try the tacos bc Alon said they're fye and I trust her judgement! The drinkssssssss -- honey listen, the champagne drink was a cute starter bc that margarita definitely didn't come to play! Also -- we didn't have reservations and still were seated in a timely manner with timely service! I'll be revisiting them for sure!

Brunch board with a variety of breakfast foods.

Amazing service and the food was delicious! I'm so glad they offer a breakfast board filled with a variety of brunch foods because that was perfect for me and my friends to share. I love how they bring out shots in a cute airplane as well & offer mimosa towers as well. It looks small from the outside but Chalet is actually very spacious and has upstairs seating as well.

Brunch charcuterie board

First time having brunch at Chalet. I had a reservation and we were seated right away, which was nice. The restaurant had a nice vibe with music playing, but it wasn't too loud, which made for a chill atmosphere. I ordered the charcuterie brunch board, and the food came out hot and pretty quickly. The boneless wings were well seasoned and flavorful, but the regular wings lacked seasoning and were completely flavorless. The eggs were cooked well but definitely needed salt and pepper. The potatoes were a little hard and didn't seem freshly prepared. The pancakes and waffles were just okay, nothing standout but fine. The portion was big enough for two people, and we even had leftovers to take home. Our server was great, super friendly and attentive the whole time. Overall, the service and vibe were great, but the food just didn't match the price.

Came here on a Saturday for brunch without a reservation , and was able to get seating at the bar upstairs. I recommend making reservations. The inside was cozy and the vibe was perfect for brunch. Courtney was our bartender and she was super sweet!!! As for the food...shrimp and grits, i'd give a 5/10. It was cooked well, it was just too spicy for my liking (and i love spicy foods). We also tried their wings, with the housemade peach sauce on them...9/10! They were delicious. We started and ended the brunch with a mimosa tower. Worth every penny. Overall, i would come back for the vibe and the wings, but would def try a different entree!

My girls and I came here for Saturday Brunch! Parking was easy to find right around the corner in a lot. The inside was so much smaller than expected and to top it off, they were oh so crowded! Wait times were ridiculously long. We waited approx 1.5 hours for a table since reservations were booked out. The music was banging! The food was fantastic! We enjoyed the brunch board and half mimosa tower! It was perfect for the 3 of us; we even had some leftovers. Although we had a good time, I wouldn't recommend coming here for brunch without reservations.

It was just okay! Basic breakfast some R&B and high prices and gratuity added ! We had a large group some of the food came out quickly and other had to wait and send items back . Several of the ladies complained of cold food and uncooked bacon ! I personally don't get the hype!

Chicken sliders

I'm not sure what I was expecting but the restaurant fell flat for me. The staff were very nice and responsive. The restaurant itself is big very large but it's popular & busy. The extremely loud music made it hard to have a conversation. We were there during happy hour and enjoyed the Mexican candy shooters. The margaritas drinks were ok and the food meh. The boneless buffalo wings were just something defrosted fried and covered in sauce. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing (beef & chicken sliders) but overall the restaurant wasn't appealing enough to make me want to return, especially because the bathroom smelled like urine. It may be a vibe during brunch or something but it just was not for me.

Sunday Brunch

We came here one weekend for brunch to celebrate my friends graduation. She saw this place on Tik-Tok and wanted to come here. We arrived for our reservation and was seated near the bar. The place wasn't that busy maybe five to six people. There was only one server the whole time we were at Chalet. Which prolong in taking our order and longer wait time to pay. The food was just ok. The drinks were pretty good. The music was super loud and the inside of this place needs to be remodeled. This place looks nothing like what is shown on Tik Tok. The upstairs looks old and creepy. There were people finally coming in and was seated upstairs. Five minutes later they were leaving out the door.

This place is always packed, the venue is on the smaller side so make sure to get a reservation. The food is honestly bar food, nothing to write home about. I think most people come for the vibes and music, there's usually a Dj playing hip hop and R&B.

Super cutesy spot! I believe the place has two levels. I was with a larger group, and we were seated upstairs. We had a reservation, but we ended up split between two side-by-side booths. It was a bit of a weird setup -- it felt like we could've all fit at one table, but we made it work and got over it pretty quickly! This place has such a lively vibe. They play great music, have a full bar, and the menu is huge. Plus, tons of neon signs -- love that. Our server was super sweet and patient with us as we figured out what we wanted. She also was extremely busy, and was even the bartender! She answered all of our questions and made the whole experience really pleasant. Since the energy was so fun, a couple of us decided to kick things off with a shot ski -- yep, a shot taken off a ski. It was such a fun way to start brunch. I split the chicken and waffles, which came with whipped cream and berries on top. The chicken was wings which were fried to perfection, and the waffle was way better than I expected. Like, surprisingly good. One of my friends got the chicken sliders, which came with fries and (I think) on pretzel buns -- either way, that dish was very good. And the shrimp and grits? I didn't try it myself, but a few folks at the table gave it a solid 10/10. All in all, this place is perfect for groups and a great spot to grab dinner or brunch and drinks before a night out!

Jessica T.

I stopped by for happy hour on Thursday with no reservation, and there were no spots for us. But the host was extremely nice and was able to squeeze us in. The burgers were good, but I had requested no peppers on mine but it still came on it. My boyfriend had requested his with no sauce and it also came with it. This kinda dampened the experience, and would've been so much better if we had gotten what we requested. Other than that, the fries and drinks were amazing. There was also an automatic gratuity of 20% added to the check, which is kinda annoying. Make sure you're not double tipping.

How is the parking at Chalet?

There is street parking and a paid parking lot but it was small. I would recommend carpooling or rideshare if you want to get close. You may be able to find parking on an adjacent street or a few blocks down.

Everyone enjoyed their drinks and they had a fun menu by the chef and we ordered off of both menus. Drinks were reasonably priced. Bartenders were great and explained what was going on. They were chill and the booths were comfortable. They had music on but not too loud so we could converse comfortably. Best bar I've been to in the city! Also wish I had taken picture of all the drinks.

October 1, 2026 TL;DR: Arbella was this close to a five-star…read moredate-night experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, our server struck the perfect balance between attentive and giving us space, and both cocktails I tried were creative and delicious. The truffle fries were pretty mediocre, but even that wouldn't have stopped me from giving Arbella five stars. What did? Discovering afterward that a 5% "service charge" had been added to the bill. I really dislike this growing practice of restaurants and bars adding percentage-based fees rather than simply pricing their menu accordingly, and it was enough to cost an otherwise excellent experience two stars. Ambiance: 5/5 Arbella absolutely nails the atmosphere. I came here on a date, and it was a great choice for that. The music was good, the lighting and decor created a really intimate vibe, and our booth was comfortable enough that we could settle in and actually enjoy the evening. There was energy in the room without it being so loud or overwhelming that we couldn't have a conversation. Even the menu design and presentation fit the experience. If you're looking for somewhere that feels elevated, interesting, and still comfortable for a date, Arbella definitely checks those boxes. Service: 5/5 Our server was fantastic. This was one of those rare occasions where someone found exactly the right balance between being attentive and not constantly interrupting our date. We never felt forgotten about, but we also had plenty of space to enjoy ourselves and talk. I especially appreciated the recommendations. Whenever we had a question or wanted guidance on what to order, our server was knowledgeable and genuinely helpful rather than simply pushing something on the menu. Excellent service from beginning to end. Drinks & Food: 4/5 The cocktails were easily the highlight. I tried the First You Take The Graham and the Trankilo Melon, and both were really good while also being different enough from what I would normally order to make the experience more memorable. This is exactly what I want from a cocktail bar: drinks that make me curious enough to try something new and then actually deliver. The truffle fries, however, were mid at best. They weren't terrible, but compared with how impressive everything else felt, they were forgettable. I'd absolutely come back for the cocktails, but I'd choose something different to eat next time. About That 5% Service Charge... This is unfortunately where Arbella lost me, and ultimately why I cannot give the experience five stars. I didn't notice until reviewing my bill afterward that a 5% service charge had been added. I strongly dislike this increasingly common practice of restaurants and bars adding percentage-based fees to the bill. If operating costs have increased, I would much rather an establishment incorporate those costs transparently into its menu prices so I know what I'm agreeing to pay when I order. Calling it a "service charge" also creates unnecessary confusion, particularly when customers are still expected to decide what to tip their server. At a cocktail-focused establishment, where you may be ordering multiple drinks throughout an evening rather than paying attention to every line of the check, I think fees like this need to be extremely clear and prominent before ordering, not something a customer discovers afterward. For me, it feels like an extra charge for simply using the establishment in exactly the way it was intended to be used. Overall: 4/5 The frustrating part is that without the service charge, this probably would have been a five-star review. Arbella gave us a genuinely great date night: beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, creative cocktails, and a space I otherwise would have happily recommended and returned to. Instead, that 5% fee left a sour final impression on what had been an excellent evening. It may seem small, but transparency around pricing matters to me. Arbella did so much right that I want to come back, but the service charge is significant enough that I would think twice before doing so.

I want to preface my review with the positives, Londyn was our server & was truly so kind, thorough, and friendly. The restaurant itself is clean & all tables have clear views of the TVs on game days. Now for the room for improvement- the food was very underwhelming. Being from the Chicago area previously, I regularly advocate for the Chicago food scene, and this unfortunately did not meet those standards. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, buffalo cauliflower, wings, and sesame ginger salad: -Brussel sprouts: tasted like they weren't seasoned just air fried and drenched in balsamic dressing -Buffalo cauliflower: soggy, unseasoned, runny buffalo sauce -Wings: PERFECTLY CRISPY, but no flavor (we ordered lemon pepper & buffalo) -Sesame ginger salad: sloppy mix of vegetables tossed in an overly sweet sauce with no sesame or ginger flavor in sight If you're not going to eat, this is probably a great spot, but from a food standpoint, there is room for improvement.

My main issue is that the appetizer - the halloumi - was the best dish. The brussels sprouts that came out were charred crisp on the outside and creamy on the insides - which is ideal - except that the flavor was very one-note. If you eat one, then every other one on the plate is pretty much just that again. The problem is that it lacked that feeling of "moreism" that you need if you're going to go with a very simple flavor profile. They tasted fine, but nothing about these made me want to just keep eating them. We also had the crispy mushrooms which likewise had a very similar issue of being one-note. This was notably better than the sprouts though because they came was a very tasty tzatziki sauce that saved the dish, but the sauce shouldn't be the star of a dish like this.

The menu items on this six-course Tiniest Goat experience were ANYTHING but tiny. The menu items were a fusion of Chicagoat, Asian, and California fresh! The braised goat with persimmons was an unexpected delight, as was every single course. Very hip and trendy, with a great atmosphere and a two-story layout. The upstairs area looked like it would be perfect for larger groups or private gatherings. Unfortunately, the service didn't quite match the atmosphere. We were a party of six and arrived before the big dinner rush, so it wasn't particularly busy when we ordered. Our server was very quiet and not especially engaging. I was seated toward the end of the table, and rather than walking over to take my order or answer questions, she spoke to me from across the table. I personally enjoy being able to have a conversation with my server, especially when I have questions about gluten-free options, and it was awkward trying to communicate across five other people. Our food took approximately 35 minutes to arrive after ordering, which seemed excessive considering how quiet the restaurant was when we placed our order. Interestingly, the staff assisting with clearing tables and refilling water were much friendlier and more personable than our actual server. The GF Fried chicken was good, crispy but lacked flavor. I did not care for the GF waffles, and the syrup was underwhelming. Others enjoyed their meal, the fish and chips and short ribs were well liked. One thing worth mentioning: Yardbird automatically adds a 20% gratuity for parties of six. We all had separate checks, and when paying through the QR code, the payment system also prompted for an additional tip. If you're not paying attention, it would be easy to tip twice, so definitely double-check before submitting payment. The restaurant is on the pricier side, although the portions are generous. Overall, I loved the atmosphere and appreciated having gluten-free options, but the service and overall experience fell a little short of expectations. I'm glad we tried it, but I'm not sure it's somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit again.
