Always nice to check out a local spot. The winner was Pad Pleek Khing. It was a savory, sweet, and had a little heat. Our other dish, Thom Ka Soup, was heavy on the citrus. I'm not sure what the hype is about this place but we ordered one chicken/shrimp pad Thai and one shrimp/tofu pad Thai. Each order had 2 shrimp and 2 pieces of the other protein! It was all dry mushy noodles with no flavor except spice. The spice was great but with no flavor it's pointless especially for what we paid for it. ...the crab/cream cheese wontons were good but that's it. read more

TLDR; not good, not authentic, gave us stomach issues and we ended up visiting the toilet a lot. We love thai food and order it often, and my GF lived in Thailand and vietnam. Branching out to try new places we tried this place. We didnt have great experience to say the least. We ended up not eating half of what we ordered and tossing the food. The pad kra prao (chicken), was so oily that and heavily seasoned that it wasn't good. The tom kha, a favorite of ours, wasn't even close to a coconut curry soup, it tasted like spaghetti O's. The pad ki mao weren't great, but edible. The panang curry, wasn't a panang curry by far, but was also edible. And lastly, the papaya salad, wasn't how they're truly made, but was edible. Point is this place is far from authentic and not good. The worst part is we had a 10 mile hike planned the next day and ended up cancelling due to the number of visits we were making to the bathroom. The food came quickly, but it was all fairly mediocre. - crab cheese wontons - the corners were crisp but by 15 minutes after delivery, the cheese pocket was soggy and the sauce looked suspect. - mee krob - this is best described as overly sweet styrofoam. It should be crunchy with some sourness, but this was missing both these things. - drunken noodles with pork - this was the most edible but it was pretty bland. How thrilled we were to hear that Nita is back in the kitchen at Chada Thai. Nita and her family used to own Chao Prya Thai which was on 52nd and Quebec by the postal facility. She took a brief retirement and is now back and we are all the lucky ones. We stayed with our favorite Phad Thai and Pa-Nang and it was perfectly prepared and served with all the condiments. The service was perfect and as things slowed down, Nita came out of the kitchen to chat about old friends and times. The old Asian Bistro has been spiffed up (thank goodness) and is complete with bar. This newest addition to 17th street has already become a hot spot and delivery is sometimes the quickest way to get good Thai food into your mouth. 5 stars for great food, an all time favorite chef, good location, Shingh ha beer, and good prices. read more

This was my first time at Chada Thai, despite living very near to the area and frequenting other restaurants on the block. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I ordered my food as I was starving on my way home through Eat24. The time estimate was 10-35 minutes. I arrived within about 10 minutes and they already had my order ready to go. The service was quick and pleasant. The food is what really stood out. I had an order of Panang Curry and it was amazing. The spice level was perfect - hot enough to give your mouth a nice burn, but not so hot that you couldn't continue to shovel the food into your mouth at a rate equal to your hunger (which, in this instance, was a pretty high rate). Now that I know how great the food and service is, this will be my go-to Thai restaurant. read more

I normally don't write reviews but this made me so mad I just had to. My girlfriend's 57 yo mother was in town so we decided to take he here. Since she's quite thin and it was cold out, she said she needed to eat inside. Her mom and I walk in - there are 2 tables left and a group waiting to order. Instead of waiting for them, we decided to sit down and wait for my girlfriend to arrive. I go to the bathroom and when I come out her mom is standing outside because they KICKED HER OUT. Apparently the group of entitled kids thought it was kindergarten and told on her, saying they wanted to combine the tables. It's one thing to ask somebody to move; it's entirely different for the manager to remove you from the restaurant! Let alone, I know they wouldn't have kicked her out if it was a man sitting there instead of her mom. There is no line in this restaurant. It's entirely seat yourself. So that's what we did. The waiter was a disaster who I had to remind of my beer, of my appetizer and the place wasn't even full. Then my paid Thai came out with barely any chicken. Thankfully the women up front returned it and then loaded it with chicken but the waiter had a weird way of excusing it for the chicken is shredded to small pieces and it was like No sir, there was barely any chicken. Fresh, light, heathy, and really great spices! I have noticed some comments below like, "good Thai food for Denver at least" and I'd have to agree Denver is not winning the race on Thai food. However, I implore you to give Chada a shot. I ordered the Tom Kha (coconut soup), Panang Curry, and soft veggie rolls. The soup was AWESOME! Light and full of delicious veggies. Same with the Panang! Really delicious!!! Both can be made vegetarian, or not, depending on your preference. I got one dish medium and the other spicy. They didn't hold back, which I love! Nothing like ordering it hot and then getting it gringo style. I'd suggest getting brown rice it's very flavorful. The only disappointment in my estimation are the veggie soft rolls. In a word they're just... weird. I've had Thai veggie rolls other places and they have been much better. I would also love to see Mee Krob and Massaman curry on the menu. As a heads up the decor is decent but not special. It could be improved, especially considering the restaurant location and cost. I do think it's a good value considering the quality of food and freshness. If the decor were better I think the food would present better. The pad Thai has really delicious skinny noodles and the flavor is impeccable. We're also big fans of the thom yum soup. Always friendly service, always delicious food. Ordered delivery for the first and last time. Items tried: chicken satay and pad thai The best thing was the side of cucumber salad that came with the chicken satay. Everything else was subpar. Chicken in the satay was dry. Pad Thai was also dry even though I asked for extra sauce. Noodles were over cooked. The dish overall lacked taste. I had to search for the meat and I only received 3 small pieces of shrimp for an extra $2.50. It was disgraceful. Why are you guys even still on business? You ought be to ashamed of yourselves. Wow, this place is as good as my favorite Thai restaurant: Tommy's Thai. Hard to believe it's been around for this long and when we came on a Saturday for lunch, there were no other diners! (during the course, two came in and ordered take-outs). So the guy (owner or owner's son? He was in casual clothing so that'd be my guess) that served us was kind of sluggish and dragging his moves. Maybe he was not happy that the day had been so slow? Or maybe he's not crazy about the fact that we came in and broke the peace? I don't know but he wasn't very excited to see us. At least the food made up for it. One interesting thing about Chada Thai's foods is that the look doesn't match up your expectation but the taste exceeds it. Take the Curry Beef Puffs appetizer, I was so disappointed when I saw they were similar to cheese wontons! The word "puffs" threw me off, I was expecting pastry type of puffs. But as soon as I bit into them I fell in love. These "wontons" have the perfect curry flavor and they taste even better dipped in the sauces provided. You'll long for more immediately after finishing. The Thai Beef salad came next. Again, I was expecting strips of Thai style grilled beef, instead, there were pieces of beef that looked like they could belong to a Beef & Broccoli stirfry dish in any Chinese restaurants. I was not happy until I dug into it. Must be the dressing or something, or the fact that the beef was well marinated. It was a surprisingly refreshing salad! Get it, you won't regret it. Before this, I have yet to find a Pad Thai dish as good as that of Tommy's Thai. But I think Chada Thai's is a very close match. Now that I've had their Pad Thai and got it out of the way, next time if I come, I'll definitely check out the Thai Roasted Chicken! Meh. I came here with the beau last night. I was excited for a yummy thai meal (with a close proximity to my house). Mee Krob. Meh, actually I didn't enjoy it at all. I guess I should have knows the dish was going to be 'fried tasting' (it says friend tofu and I added the chicken that was friend too) but I thought the noodles were going to be different. Always looking for a good pad Thai for delivery! The noodles are not traditional Pad Thai noodles but after tasting it, we didn't mind! It actually made it easier to shovel in our mouths . The flavor was pretty good! I went with mild on the heat scale but might try a little more next time. Overall I would order it again. We got the dumplings and they were a little dry. We probably would try something else next time. The coconut sticky rice was well...very very sticky and not a lot of coconut. Probably some of the issue is on our end because it was delivery and not fresh but it was like a giant glue ball. My insides might be angry later hahaha. Definitely needed more flavor. Went here because Vine Street was packed and had an hour wait (on a Wednesday) and we were starving. It doesn't look like much from the outside so we were wary but oh boy am I glad Vine Street was too packed. This was a delight for the taste buds and their Thai beer was the perfect complement (compliment?) to the meal. We got the pad thai and the thai curry. I'm a huge fan of spice but we got the thai curry "medium" and that was just spicy enough without losing the subtle flavors of the coconut, etc. The Pad Thai was excellent at very spicy and the egg roles were also a delicious way to begin the meal. My dietary needs are pretty high maintenance because I don't eat carbs. These guys were happy to oblige. I really enjoyed the modified dish they made and my date loved hers as well. I've been here before but that was several years ago. I remember it being decent and have been in the mood for thai closer to home. Thus I met some friends for lunch here today. The first thing you notice is that the portions are small. Somewhere along the lines of "Man, that's kind of cool, they bring your food out in stages". Nope. Just small portions. That might be *OK* if the flavor was up there. Sadly, I found it to be on the lackluster side. My phad kra pao (ordered medium spicy level) lacked the signature basil flavor and I was having a hard time finding the fish oil as well. I mean I know life can be a bit slow during lunch if you're not used to an influx of workers every day but it seems like it was a half hearted meal. I ordered delivery for my first Chada experience, which was a mistake. Placed my order at 7pm, was told it would be an hour. That's already a pretty long delivery wait - but when an hour and 20 minutes passed, I called. They said they were "still" making my food. While everyone I spoke to was very nice and apologetic - it still meant I ended up waiting nearly 2 hours for my dinner (it didn't arrive until almost 9pm, which is WAY late for me for dinner). Crab Cheese Wontons - The wontons themselves were basic at best. They were supposed to come with both sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard. They sweet and sour was missing and the mustard was not hot... I mean, this stuff was on par with mild Pace Picante (and I am a wimp about spicy!). Cucumber Salad - the $1 side was by far the best part of my dinner. It was less than a cup of chopped up cucumber with red onion in a (probably) vinegar based liquid. Great, simple flavor and a nice freshness to add to the meal. Pad Thai - Dry, almost flavorless noodles..... that's really all I can say about it. I ended up dumping the liquid leftover from my cucumber salad, the "hot" mustard, and some soy sauce on top - and I still couldn't get through all of it. It's unusual for me to say that I'm not willing to give a place a second chance... but man, this place is really making a case. I might be willing to go into the restaurant, but I will not order delivery from them again. To be perfectly honest, I only tried this place because my favorite Thai place in Denver is closed on Sundays. Now I know better and will just have to go without Thai on Sundays! read more

My girlfriend and I order takeout here about twice a month. I was surprised to read all the negative reviews. Chada is a good, consistent Thai takeout joint that is on par with the price of food in the area. This is not a hole-in-the-wall jem with huge portions or super authentic cuisine. This is not an excellent date night spot with great service. Most of the business is takeout, the dishes are made "for American taste buds", and food on this side of town is on the expensive side compared to what you'd find on West Colfax or Federal. That said, I enjoy that the food is consistent, the service is quick, and I've never had a bad experience over the last 2 years. I recommend the drunken noodles, panang curry, and green curry. Can't speak for any of the seafood dishes. To the fellow who is angry he didn't get fortune cookies with his order...why would you want them??? read more
