Pad Thai- chicken
Jed M.

Chada Thai was one of my standbys during the pandemic. Luckily for the city park, north cap hill, and uptown neighborhoods, it survived the pandemic and remains an excellent option for Thai! The restaurant used to have more emphasis on the dine-in aspect of service- offering traditional dine in experience, but since Covid it is largely takeout business. Dine-in remains an option- just order and take a seat. Seating area is fairly small but also includes an outdoor patio space! Atmosphere and interior is dated, but homey, warm, low thrills, casual. Parking is largely limited to street parking. My favorite food is definitely the pad see ew with beef, medium spice. Great depth of flavor, decent portion size, great noodle and broccoli texture, and perfect spice at the medium level for me! Also recommend the pad Thai- again, positive remarks and authentic (at least based on my limited knowledge of Thai cuisine). Food is very consistent based on years of "research." Service- orders usually are ready in 15-30 minutes, sometimes longer if busy. Staff are friendly and have always got orders accurate. Service was the best when long time employee, Derek was the front facing staff member.

This is a restaurant that you order first then grab a seat. There were some new dishes listed and I decided to try the Kra Pow Pad Thai. We also ordered a pad kee mao, khao soi and pad see ew. I must say the kra pow pad Thai was phenomenal. It was so savory and spicy (I went with medium) and I enjoyed each bite. I do not care for pad Thai much because it's too sweet to me. The kra pow pad Thai is the flavors of kra pow but using pad Thai noodles. That combo is the best. Give it a try if you are in the area. Food came quickly and it was hot so you know it was freshly made. The khao soi was really good too. As for the pad kee mao and pad see ew, I felt that it tastes the same here, even though it shouldn't. It tastes fine but definitely the kra pow pad Thai stole the show.

Chicken pad Thai. Soo good.

One of the best pad Thai's I've ever had. Sometimes , pad Thai comes out dry. Not theirs. It's juicy and the noodles have good bite. Try their dumplings ! The chef makes them herself and they run out some nights. Theres no alcoholic beverage menu but there is a stocked bar so ask them to mix something. Cute inside but the patio was especially nice. The restaurant is on a small block with only a French restaurant and a cafe next to it. As well as a liquor store lol. It's in a more residential area so parking is easy.

Came here today on a Friday for lunch and shocked it was empty. This place was is amazing. Ordered the drunken noodles and holy crap it was scrumptious. The lady working the counter was friendly too. Highly recommend and will be back.

Met some work colleagues here on a very quiet Thursday for lunch. Maybe Chada Thai has been paying attention to some of the Yelp reviews. Our service was great. We didn't wait long and everyone's order came out with 15-20 minutes. I ordered the Thai curry with chicken and now that I'm familiar with their spicy scale, will move up to "spicy/hot" from medium. I could've easily had another bowl. The place itself had a few tables and was super cute. Kudos for the improvements. I hope they're around to stay as we'll be back.

Chada Thai is a quaint little restaurant with a delightful outdoor patio. I chose this place for dinner since a friend and I were seeing a show nearby at Bluebird Theater. And frankly, who doesn't love Thai food? Part of the reason for my overall rating boils down to what other reviews mentioned: you might wait awhile. In no way does this take away from our server, who was polite and knowledgeable. But the poor guy was the only person working the front of house. The restaurant wasn't packed by any means, but with the few four tops inside, the outdoor patio, and answering phone calls at the front counter, there's only so much he could do. As for the food, I went with their Thai Curry. I usually stick with Panang, but I literally had it the night before. There were big chunks of vegetables, thinly-sliced chicken and a mellow broth which paired well with the rice. In my opinion, it could have used something to kickstart it into second gear though. I believe the humble abode has more in their arsenal. All I can comment on is my in-person dining experience. If you're not in a hurry, Chada Thai might be the Thai restaurant for you.

I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was here! We ordered some Pad Thai for take out and I was super pleased with the quality of the food. The one thing that was different about the Pad Thai was thinner noodles, which I've never seen before. The noodles tended to clump together a little more but it wasn't too much of an issue. Prices are pretty good, especially for lunch and on par with other Thai restaurants in the area for dinner. Pick up was pretty easy to navigate, the staff will send a text when your order is ready which means your food will still be nice and warm by the time you drive it home. They have some staff at the doorway ready to hand you your food. It's pretty quick and efficient with no one parked in front of the restaurant. I'll definitely be ordering from here again and am excited to try their other Thai dishes!

I can't get enough!!

Updating my previous review from 3 to 4 stars, they listened and made the food spicier! Great place.

Nix the recommendation! The waiter was extremely rude to my sister on several occasions. Not cool. Thumbs down!

Maybe dining is is better than their deliver. Pad Thai was mashed into a brick, so dense and not a good amount of chicken.

Food was good but it was overpriced for the tiny portions they give you. The bowl of rice they brought for 2 was not even half full.

Good entrees, the curry is great. However, without fail they will skimp you on the meat, regardless of the dish.

Horribly slow service. Forgot rice, never refilled my water, and gave us the wrong bill. Did I mention they weren't even crowded?

Saturday nights used…read moreto be packed and lively, but now there were only a few tables occupied, which unfortunately reflects the overall experience we had. We ordered one of the restaurant's signature and more expensive dishes, the Thaiger Smile, which has always been a favorite of ours. In the past, the beef was tender and flavorful, but this time it was extremely dry and overcooked, almost like beef jerky. The papaya salad was also overwhelmingly salty. Overall, the food quality was far below what we had come to expect. The service itself was good, although not quite at the level you would expect from a restaurant positioning itself as "high-end." What was also surprising was the additional 5% kitchen fee added to the bill, on top of the suggested 18-25% tip prompts during checkout. Supporting kitchen staff is important, but that responsibility should ultimately fall on ownership rather than being passed directly to customers through multiple added charges. Overall, the experience was very disappointing, and unfortunately we don't see ourselves returning. It also appeared there was no manager present on the floor during service, which only added to the feeling that standards have slipped considerably.

I ordered takeout, and before I even got to the food, the customer service stood out. The woman at the front, who I think may be the owner, was so kind and funny. The Jalapeño Crab Cheese Wontons were packed with flavor and came with the perfect sweet/spicy dipping sauce. The Pork Roti was unreal and officially a must-order for me moving forward.
