I got Thai tea, green Thai tea, Jasmine tea, chicken wings, basil duck, Jasmine rice, sticky rice with mango & ho mok seafood. Good serving sizes! The sticky rice was a little saltier than expected & I've never seen purple sticky rice before for this dessert, what a treat! I appreciated that the sticky rice Mango wasn't too sweet and the mango couldn't have been better. The angel wings is just traditional chicken wings. The coating was sticky and a little sweet, but fried and battered like Korean fried chicken. My partner was full but amazed by how yummy the wings were and ended up eating it all. Highly recommend! The mild to medium is somewhat spicy, if you want to bring the heat I would recommend asking for a bird chili pepper on the side or let them know high heat! The green Thai tea. Omg. I can't believe I've gone so long without trying this. Simply phenomenal, delicious. It's like original Thai tea but lighter and more floral. Honestly, just try it! Chada is tucked into an underground space filled with embroidered chairs, photo-filled chests, and traditional Thai sculptures. There's something warm and familiar about it, like you've stepped into someone's extended living room, but in the best way. The angel wings and basil eggplant are straight-up Southeast Asian dreams. Fire as fuckkkk, the pad thai was all sauced up and spicy. The tom yum soup with tom yummy. And the shrimp was so fat and fresh. The thai tea w boba was delish and not watered down. I loooved the boba, i dont think it's traditional boba thoough, its less chewy and softer. I didn't like the sticky mango rice bc it was too sticky for my liking but my mom DEVOURED. We accidentally showed up just before closing, but they seated us and served us anyway, and let us stay until we were done, long after they had closed. They were incredibly kind. They have an extensive menu, and can make almost anything on the menu vegetarian/vegan. I ordered the Masaman Curry (vegan), and he ordered the Chada Noodle entree (not vegan). We both LOVED our food. Very flavorful and fresh! I would love to eat here again next time we're in Chico. I'm so sad this place isn't in Redding. We almost walked past it, the place is down some stairs, below street level. The ambience is nice, it's super cute inside. Much nicer than I was expecting. Our second time visiting Chada's and this place is so good! It's a small family run business with big flavors and sooo many options! Their green Curry is top tier and my boyfriend is in love with the spicy red duck curry the Thai tea is also so yummy! For drinks we had the mango drink which was good not a strong alcohol taste at all, and the PLUM WINE so good! I'm not a wine person and I even loved it. The waiters are so friendly and on top of things whether it's empty or a completely full establishment like it was on Valentine's Day. 12/10 recommend read more

While the food here is tasty, it is extremely expensive, especially as takeout. I feel that we may have been overcharged, as the photos of the menu online showed each of our items being between 12-14$. We ordered 4 things, vegetarian pad thai, chicken green curry, larb salad with chicken, and sautéed spicy ginger dish, with tofu instead of meat. Our total, was $98. Granted that includes a $15 tip, so without tip it was $83. I usually always tip but am now regretting it because of the price of the food and the feeling that we were overcharged. 4 items have NEVER costed me almost $100 with tip. Even when i sit down at thai food in sacramento, 4 things will be at most $70 before tipping. Lastly want to mention this is for fairly small portions. The smallest ive seen in Chico. I get that inflation is messing with the cost of things but Im pretty disappointed and will not be going back because of this. read more

I picked up some takeout, with one of the items being the BBQ chicken entree, and got home to realize that the potions were very small. The chicken itself was good and I didn't have an issue with the rest of my order, but I felt like I was taken advantage of considering the price I paid. I called for clarification, and they said that I ordered the a la carte and that it's the normal portions that they've given out for years, and they pride themselves on their portion sizes. I just started going there and I'm unaware of the portion they usually give out, but entrees typically give more food than what I got. When I mentioned that I ordered and got charged for an entree and not a la carte, they shifted to saying that everything is more expensive these days (fair enough) and that they need to do this to operate. Just a little disappointed and curious if others receive the same portions. Seems like a cool spot otherwise. read more

Went to Chico on a day trip for business, and my boss that lives there (I live in Red Bluff) said we should go there for lunch. Best idea ever. The Thai iced tea was fresh, sweet, and delicious. We ordered and the food came out very fast. We ordered the pineapple fried rice and pad Thai. I was blown away by how good it all was. We also tried the veggie egg rolls and those were okay, but I've never had better pad Thai. Flavorful and delicious and fresh. And I've never had rice like that before as well...didn't know how I would feel about pineapple in my rice but it was a solid win. It was very tasty and had savory and sweet flavors that made it glorious. The place is downstairs and it's this cute little room with tables. I will definitely be back. You know the food will taste amazing everyone who works in the front and back kitchen speaks Thai! Chada is a cute little restaurant that is underground, if you're walking around in downtown, you might miss it. Go down the flight of stairs and you'll reach the restaurant! The front entrance and waiting area is pretty small and cramped but there is a small seating area around the corner. My go-to dishes are always the drunken noodles and papaya salad- so delicious Would definitely recommend this cute, little underground place! Met up w a friend for dinner, Chada Thai is now a regular stopping place for me, the food, service and atmosphere is always consistent, I am made to feel like family every time I go, I have taken business associates when they are in town visiting and we are always made to feel at home, we had the grilled seafood entree, highly recommend it if you are into seafood! Best Thai in town (per the hubby). I love the ambiance of this place and am happy they're back open for indoor dining. Today we had tom kha soup, Thai basil chicken, and pad see ew. I called in an order of Pad Thai w/ Chicken last week for dinner. Upon parking my car downtown I began to walk around while looking for an eye-level Thai restuarant. It didn't take long to spy the stairs heading down to Chada. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with the smell of Thai food being made from within a few feet of the entrance. I have tried other establisments in Chico for Thai food and wasn't thrilled...until I found Chada. The food was packed with flavor, the serving size was appropriate for the cost and the people taking our order over the phone and in person were both very polite. Oh! And the dining room and entirety of this restuarant looks so elegant! This would be a nice place for a date night, I look forward to coming back for a sit-down dinner with you guys! The food is great, but I noticed they price gouge on the plain rice. $3 for a single serving when the Asian store charges around $1 per pound for uncooked rice. A single takout serving of cooked rice is probably ¢.25 overhead cost for the uncooked rice and take out container. Makes more sense to upcharge on the non-essential stuff like alcoholic drinks, can feed more people that way read more

I had the red curry chicken and it was delicious! My husband had the seafood red curry and he said it was one of the best seafood curries he's had! The restaurant is downstairs, so it feels a little dark, but the staff was kind and fast.
