Graduation meal- they treated you like that because you pissed them off by checking on their competency. They then "matched your energy" to give themselves egotistical relief. Visited August 2nd..see receipt. Before checking out Walmart in Willows for some candles I thought I would try this place. It has an Asian fusion menu with some interesting choices. I ordered the burger with avocado and bacon that came with waffle fries along with the chicken satay appetizer. The burger was cooked nicely and it tasted good. I had them cook the bacon alittle more since I like it alittle crispy. Bun was not warm but still tasted fresh. The chicken satay is always my "go to" at some of my favorite Thai restaurants. The peanut sauce is always included in the meal. The chicken was cooked nicely and was very tasty. I was shocked to see on my bill that they charged me an extra 2.50 for the peanut sauce that is supposed to be included in the price. Thus not 5 stars. The owner offered to refund me the 2.50 ( i declined) but I think it's important to have full transparency on what you are assuming is included per the menu description. The wait staff ( including the bartender) were very pleasant and professional. The inside is clean and bathroom was spotless. They have a full bar and have regular seating and bar seating. They also have happy hour on certain days. I would probably eat here again in the future if I am driving through on highway 5. read more

I chose this restaurant for my graduation celebration because I've always enjoyed eating here, especially the birria fries. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment and not the experience I was hoping for on such a special day. Before arriving, my family called ahead to make sure they could accommodate our party of 10 and were told to come at 4:00 PM. Even with that notice, service was slow from the start. It took a while for anyone to take our order, and after our food arrived, our server essentially disappeared. We never received drink refills, and part of my little brother's meal was missing. The food was also disappointing. My meal arrived cold, and the cheese wasn't even melted. I was especially excited for the crab wontons, but they seemed burnt, almost as if they had been refried multiple times, yet somehow they were still cold when served. For a graduation dinner, this was extremely frustrating. We later learned that our server was on break and that the restaurant was short-staffed. While I understand that staffing issues happen, it was disappointing that no one appeared to be covering our table during that time. What made it even more confusing was that, by the time our party arrived, there were only about two other tables occupied in the restaurant. Because of that, the level of service we received was surprising and difficult to understand. With an automatic gratuity already included for large parties, I expected a higher level of service and food quality. Instead, both fell short. It had been a while since we'd ordered from here. Before arriving, I called to make sure they could accommodate our party of 10. The person I spoke with suggested coming at 4:00 PM, which we did. Unfortunately, service was disappointing from the start. It took about 10 minutes before anyone took our drink order. Since we already had plenty of time to look over the menu, we placed both our drink and food orders at the same time. After our food and drinks arrived, our server essentially disappeared. We never received drink refills, and part of our young child's meal was missing. About 40 minutes later, I had to ask for boxes and the check. Our bill would have been around $300 with a card payment, including an automatic gratuity of over $39. I don't mind paying gratuity, but it's frustrating when the level of service doesn't justify it. When we asked if our server had left for the day, another employee told us he was on a 30-minute to 1-hour break and that they were short-staffed due to call-outs. While I understand staffing challenges happen, I was surprised that no one covered his tables while he was gone. Asian Fusion and right off the 5- this is definitely the fanciest restaurant in town. Which is great! They have specials during lunch and on Sundays, they have a wide variety of items on their menu so there is something for everyone! I ordered the wings tray to go, which had 20 wings with 4 different Korean inspired sauces and two dipping sauces. You cant customize the order which was okay this time but next time I would rather have no sauces on the wings since some were very spicy. I was disappointed upon picking up my to-go order, that was in a metal take away dish and with a foil lid, wasn't sitting under a heat lamp or tray but was on the desk getting cold even though I thought I was too early in picking it up. I wonder how long it was done for because some of it was cold and not the pipping hot wings I thought I was getting (unless you mean spicy hot! ha) The staff wasn't very friendly but they were busy. I was very amazed by the food at this restaurant in this little town. I'm usually skeptical and was skeptical to try Asian food in little small towns but I must say, the food was super delicious and everything was amazing! The server was very attentive and the owner even came out to check on the customers. It's a very cute restaurant and catered to families. I tried the chili oil on my fried noodles and ended up buying some to take home. Although I don't travel up north much since I live in Sacramento but I will definitely stop by again when I head up that way. You will not be disappointed! read more

Love this delightful Asian fusion restaurant in downtown Willows. The vibe is casual the ambience is . The is always friendly and the food is delicious. Love their lunch specials with amazing pad Thai, delicious rice, dishes, and all of the lunch specials come with either wontons or potstickers and salad or soup. If you're looking for something with an Asian twist and you're a foodie, you will love this place! Not to be missed if you make it to downtown Willows! We were in the middle of no where on our road trip back to Oregon. Looking on trusty Yelp for food while gassing up. This place popped up. It was near by. Glad we stopped in. We were quite surprised by the ambience, and the good food. I think I liked my food a little more than he did. I had the phad kee mo. He had a mango chicken stir fry something. I made a dinner reservation for my 49th anniversary. The person I talked with, said they would make a note about the anniversary. We arrived about 10 minutes before the reservation and we're seated right away. My wife ordered ice tea and I asked for water. After about 10 minutes, we placed our orders for the most expensive thing on the menu, the Rib Eye Steaks. Within 20 minutes, the restaurant had almost filled with customers. That's when I noticed there were only 2 employees working the dining room. Our steaks were served on a dragon shaped, cast iron skilletsitting on a wooden plank. The skillet must have been near 400 degrees by the way the steak was sizzling. It was accompanied by a small portion of Broccoli. We had both ordered the spiced potatoes and they showed up about 5 minutes later. My steak had good flavor but was heavily charred on one side giving it a slightly burnt taste. The potatoes were delicious. It's then that we notice that the meal doesn't come with soup,salad or any kind of bread. After finishing, we sat and talked for a while. The waitress dropped off a couple boxes for leftovers and apologized for being short handed. Shee came back with a payment IPad. She thanked us and said goodbye. We left wondering if we will go back. My 5-stars are reserved for exceptional experiences and this was one of them! Had to come find out what this place was and so we jumped in the car for the 46-min trip (from Chico). The menu made it hard for me to decide what we wanted, but we knew the Thai dry rub wings appetizer was a definite. They were cooked perfectly with a breading that looked heavy but was perfect. The dry rub was citrusy with amazing heat. Entrees were the Mentai Salmon Bowl and the Creamy Miso Burger. Both were excellent. Nearly impossible to get the service and quality of food that Net and the crew are putting out in a daily basis at Red88. I am a gigantic fan of the Drunken Noodles and regularly go with that, but their pho, and birria noodz, are also worth making the journey to try. Today we came in with just me and my girlfriend our meal was perfect. We had 1. Thai Salted caramel shake. Which was a sweet but not too sweet delight 2. The pumpkin Mentai fries. I don't like pumpkin but these were fried to perfection. 3. The crab wontons were delicious. 4. Avocado cheese egg rolls were not too heavy and perfectly crispy. 5. The main dish of Udon stir fry with tofu was a savory delight and perfect. Flavors were in every strand of noodles. 6. The cream brûlée cheesecake is the perfect way to wrap up this fantastic dinner. Came here for lunch on our way to redding after landing in Sacramento. The staff was extremely pleasant and patient with questions on the menu. All of the food was incredibly delicious and fresh. After eating had a quick but very nice conversation woth the Owner / Chef who you could tell had a passion for being there. Then the hotel desk clerk told me about Red 88. So good! The Vietnamese noodles with chicken, avocado, smashed peanuts, & sesame seed dressing was so flavorful! My husband had 2 rolls - pork/beef rolls and an avocado & cream cheese roll. He really liked the meat but the avocado/cream cheese wasn't his favorite (he usually prefers something that pops with flavor). I had a Manhattan like drink called "stay local" made with Aperol instead of bitters - yummy. A great meal in a small town. They were very busy (Saturday night) & took a long time to get my husband's dessert (cheesecake). But the staff were really nice and the rest of the meal & drinks came out in a timely manner & hot. Getting a seat is easy, and the menu has creative options. The atmosphere is relaxed with music, and the bartender is friendly. The birria fries were excellent, and I enjoyed the Hard Thai Tea with 4 Roses bourbon and Bailey's Irish Cream instead of condensed milk. The burger patty of the Creamy Miso Burger was pretty low-quality though, and I was struggling to taste the miso.
