The food was great and so was the service. The atmosphere was great also. It smelled good, was clean, and the ambiance/decor was really nice! There were many items we wanted to try so we will be back. We also tried the chicken wing appetizer but I forgot to take a picture. They were really good also.
This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in New Orleans. The food, ambiance, drinks and service were top notched! I'll definitely be back to try other foods on the menu.
Tyler, our server was lovely. The place was packed and they still managed to find some seats for two of us. The hostesses were very nice. The place is beautiful and the bathroom and tables are clean. The porch has a limited seating area for waiting and is so pretty! The food was pretty bland though. They did have some creative items on the menu which were unique and tasty such as the vermicelli-wrapped shrimp appetizer. However the main dishes we had were quite mild and not the 3 star heat we thought we would get. Before I forget, the cocktails were impressive and quite beautiful. If you're worried about the spice, but you wanna try the food, this is where you should come.
I really enjoyed all of the food that we had here and the service was excellent. Very attentive and had great suggestions as well. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and cozy all at the same time. When you walk in you see a beautiful bar, sitting in front of you and tables around it and there is a back dining area as well and there's even some outdoor seating in the back. The curry short ribs were magnificent and so was the Thai iced tea tiramisu although it was much smaller than I thought it would be based on the pictures I saw online. From the cocktails that we tried the obey piña colada was the favorite. The mango sticky rice cocktail was good, but I was expecting it to be sweeter, maybe they would swap the tequila for rum or some other spirit that would make it a little sweeter and more like I was expecting.
The first thing I noticed when I was in was how beautiful the interior is. I couldn't stop looking at all the beautiful details in the decor and design. Our server was friendly and the food was amazing. I had the stuffed chicken wings. I remember having stuffed wings similar to this about 10 years ago at a festival. I don't remember the name of the booth but I've been searching for wings that food ever since. I finally scratched that itch with Chada's wings. They were delicious! I also had the khao soi and a Thai tea. Both were really good. My dining partner was in love with their cocktail. They loved it so much they ordered another one and they rarely order 2 drinks at dinner. They said it was really well made. Overall it was a great experience with great food. I'll be back.
Wow! I was blown away at this place. The ambience, the service, the food. The staff are so incredibly nice. I literally felt like I was on a resort in Thailand. Everything was so calm and zen. It's been a while since I went to a restaurant that really welcomed us with open arms. The food is amazing. We definitely got the simple stuff, but will be back for their special items!! I will say parking can be a little tricky. I believe it's street parking, but there is plenty! We had no issue finding parking on a super busy weekend. Chada, y'all did your big one!!
I love a good Thai restaurant and Chada is now officially at the top of my list. We arrived as soon as they opened, and there were a few parties waiting for the doors to open. It's a super cute space for any occassion: from date nights to hanging with friends. We were greeted warmly; and, our waitress was super sweet and enthusiastic about the menu. I decided to try the Khao Soi with shrimp as I love a yellow curry. I did ask to remove the pickled mustard (as it can sometimes take over the flavor). The Khao Soi was soothing and flavorful; and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. I'll definitely return to try more items.
Sweet little Thai restaurant with an upscale ambiance and great food. I went as a party of two for lunch and the food was great. I highly recommend the curry! We almost passed on dessert but were glad we got the mango sticky rice. Great lunch spot!
Phenomenal. Phenomenal. Phenomenal. No better word to describe Chada. Went for a celebratory lunch and was impressed by the serenity once entering this quaint establishment. Service was quick and very helpful; we were even offered a second table to accommodate all the dishes we wanted to try! As for the food--AMAZING. Fresh ingredients and so much depth. I've never had a Pad See Ew with this amount of sauce, which was packed with flavor. The stars of my show were the short rib curry and garlic fried rice. Both were delicious and I recommend eating the rice with the curry. For dessert, I am a cheesecake enthusiast and absolutely loved the basque cheesecake that was offered. All dishes served were very good and I am super excited to return to try more (we eyed the fried red fish that was delivered next to us--we will be back to order!) Cannot recommend this place enough. I wouldn't be surprised if they were recognized by Michelin in the future.
Visited Chada on a quiet, cold early Sunday afternoon. They had only been open for about 30 min and I was the only customer apart from a takeout order. The space is absolutely beautiful and ornate. I enjoyed the enthusiastic and attentive service. I ordered the fried veggie egg rolls, papaya salad and Khao Soi with scallops. Each dish was brought out one after the other. The egg rolls were cute, crunchy and tasty. The papaya salad was so incredibly fresh and very flavorful. The Khao Soi was like a warm hug and the scallops were tender, not overcooked. I do wish there were more of the pickled greens and maybe some fish sauce in the curry but overall it was still delicious. I'm always happy when a new Thai restaurant opens and this one in particular is very special. Can't wait to come back!
A new Thai restaurant in an old house in Mid-City is a big surprise. Beautifully decorated, very warm and cozy yet lots of tables, low lighting, friendly staff. There are two big rooms and a patio which was not in use because it was freezing. Menu has lots of choices. Prices reasonable. Food very fresh and lovely spices and herbs. Many vegetarian options. Full bar with exotic drinks. The tableware is very pretty. They don't take reservations for fewer than 5 guests but said the busiest time is 6:30-7:30. We went at 6:00 and got in on a Saturday night. It was pretty full tho.
I visited here for the first time yesterday, Friday, evening. I had to drive around a bit to find street parking. I eventually managed to squeeze into a spot across the street from the restaurant. It was packed when I arrived. Fortunately, I was able to sit at the bar. They said they don't take reservations on the weekend and reservations during the week are only for larger parties. The staff were all pleasant. Because I sat at the bar and the bartender was super busy, service was a bit slower but I was ok with that. I was just happy to get a seat. I liked the decor and overall atmosphere. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc which I enjoyed. For my appetizer, I ordered the Thai flower dumplings and I enjoyed them. For me the texture and flavor worked well. If you are a texture person and you don't enjoy foods made from rice flour then you might not enjoy these. For my main dish, I ordered the green curry with shrimp without the eggplant. The dish was tasty. I requested only medium spice. The green curry sauce was very flavorful and delicious. I had hoped to try their mango and sticky rice for dessert but it sold out just before I requested it. If you visit here later in the day and you want to try that dessert then I'd suggest ordering it up front with your meal and just having it brought out later.
Wow wow wow! I was blown away by Chada! Brought to you by the same people that have Dahla in the CBD, I knew it would be good but I'm in awe! The food was amazing and so reasonably priced. But the PRESENTATION!!! The food is so uniquely plated and beautiful! The whole restaurant is stunning really. It definitely does not feel like a converted double shotgun when sitting inside. It can get a little loud in here with a full room but it's very cozy. Service was phenomenal. Our waters stayed full, food came out quickly, drinks were fabulous. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes!!!

Some meals surprise you. Others announce themselves as moments you'll remember. This one? It felt like discovering a secret you immediately want to protect and also tell everyone about. I began, innocently enough, with the Spicy Pineapple Margarita. Bright, balanced, dangerously drinkable. One became two with zero resistance. A third was contemplated, respected, and responsibly declined though not without regret. Then came the Chor Muang (Thai Flower Dumplings) tiny, jewel-like parcels of minced chicken perfumed with coriander root, garlic, and pepper. They arrive looking almost too beautiful to eat. Almost. One bite and the spell breaks: OMG, WTH do not miss these. Delicate, savory, deeply aromatic, and executed with a confidence that signals a kitchen operating on another level. The Veggie Fried Spring Rolls followed cabbage, carrots, glass noodles, mushrooms crispy without heaviness, flavorful without fuss. The kind of "simple" dish that quietly proves how good the fundamentals are here. Every crunch felt intentional. And then... the showstopper. The Short Rib Panang Curry. Short ribs nestled among red peppers and Brussels sprouts, swimming in a curry so rich and precise it feels composed rather than cooked, served with jasmine rice that politely steps aside and lets the sauce speak. There is nothing short about this dish not the flavor, not the portion, not the ambition. It is, without exaggeration, one of the best things I've ever eaten. I "kinda" know food, and this is special. Singular. A dish that doesn't chase trends it creates its own gravity. I find myself hoping, almost praying, that the short rib never leaves the menu. Walking into CHADA feels like stepping through a velvet curtain into another world one where design, intention, and hospitality conspire to slow you down and invite wonder. The room is visually arresting without ever trying too hard: elegant lines, thoughtful textures, and a layout that flows with effortless grace. It's the kind of space that quietly tells you you're in good hands. CHADA isn't just a great meal; it's the thrill of discovery the kind that makes you grateful you showed up hungry and curious. I'll be back. Soon. read more
New Thai restaurant less than 10 minutes from my job what's more perfect than that?!? I went there straight from work and sat at the bar and was lucky to catch the happy hour, $10 cocktails. I really enjoyed the hibiscus daiquiri. I started with the tuna larb and it was great. It was tangy and spicy and over all party in my mouth. I then got the crab fried rice and that's where my disappointment set in. As a lover of crab and especially crab fried rice I was excited to try this dish. Typically I get it with another dish but as I was eating alone I didn't want to order too much food. That was a mistake because this rice on its own lacked any flavor or depth which is atypical for Thai cuisine. It had lots of lump crabmeat which was appreciated but I feel they thought the crab alone would save this dish and it just didn't hit like crab fried rice normally does. Honestly the rice was like a 2.5 but the service, the ambiance, my cocktail and the larb were a strong 5 so I'll definitely be back. read more

When you wake up in the morning still thinking about last nights dinner, you know you will be back. That's the experience we had at Chada. First off the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the first dining room is pretty small, but I later learned there is also a back area down the hall. We were greeted and sat quickly although I'd say around 630 or 7 it filled up quickly. I was pleased to find out happy hour was going on till 6, so we ordered a couple of HH Martinis for 10 each, they were perfectly dirty like we asked, they even asked us how many olives each of us wanted. We started with the Flower Thai Dumplings- they were both savory and rich because of the peanut sauce. I also had the chicken Tom Yum soup which was exactly as I had hoped it would be, full of flavor and plenty of it too. Husband said we really enjoyed his Tom Kha. We split the Chicken Pad Thai which was cooked perfectly and also delicious. Because we had already eaten the dumplings and soup, we ended up taking most of the Pad Thai home for lunch the next day. No complaints about that! After hearing they had fried banana and ice cream for dessert we could not resist, it was the perfect ending so a great meal. Besides martinis, husband had a spicy margarita and I tried one of each of the two beers they have which are Chang and Singha, all complementary to the delicious food flavors. Oh - the food is served beautifully too. I very highly recommend! read more

Food was amazing. Service was welcoming. Great vibe before it starts to get busy; the tables are super close so no private conversations really. Nonetheless, great spot! read more
Don't sleep on this place. If you think you want to go here, do so now, because it will become a place that's hard to get into. We arrived at 5:30 and by 6:30 it was packed. The space is beautiful, the ambiance is perfect, and the food and drinks are over the top delicious. Only thing that could've been better was the bar was backed up with drink orders with only one bartender. But to be fair, it was a Thursday night-simply growing pains which I'm sure they'll adjust to as word travels about this fabulous place. read more

I almost didn't come here--New Orleans has a way of pulling you toward another po'boy--but I'm so glad I followed my instincts instead. This was, without question, the most fabulous meal I've had on this trip. Every dish felt intentionally layered. The flower dumplings alone are worth the visit--beautifully crafted and clearly a labor of love. You can taste the time and care that goes into each one, from the delicate floral design to the perfectly balanced peanut filling. The Drunken Noodle with crispy duck was exceptional. The duck was cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside, tender and rich inside--and paired seamlessly with the noodles and sauce. It's one of those dishes you keep thinking about long after the meal ends. I fortunately took half home so I could rationalize dessert. The short rib and curry were just as impressive--deep, complex flavors with that perfect balance of spice and richness that Thai cuisine does so well. Skipping the po'boy or gumbo or jambalaya for this was the best meal decision I made all trip. read more

I've been so excited for Chada to open up and I'm so excited to have an accessible Thai restaurant in midicity. We started off with the Thai ice tea and the chicken satay and it was so delicious. The satay was made really well and I enjoyed the peanut sauce on the side. We also had the drunken noodles and basil fried rice and the food was great. The venue was also super nice and the ambiance was great. One of the owners gave us a tour and also told us about the story of the house the restaurant was made and how they came about calling the restaurant Chada. Chada is also owned by the same people who made Dhala in the downtown location. It's been only a week since they've opened, but they've done a great job so far. They originally told us there would be a 40-60 minute wait, but it ended up being only 20 minutes. So far they only take reservations by phone for over a party of 5. I can't wait to frequently visit this place and try other things on the menu especially since it's so close! read more

I came here 7/19 and I found the staff to be very unkind, they were not happy to see me at all. I told them I was waiting for a friend but we needed a table for two, I completely understand them not seating until the complete party has arrived but the bar was COMPLETELY EMPTY and she told me that I could not sit to order a drink because people dine at the bar..I'm just so confused by this it was very rude and unprofessional I'll never visit this place read more

Chada is beautifully thought out and absolutely delivers - ambiance was perfect. Started with the lychee martini--an instant 10/10 and the perfect way to kick things off. The papaya salad (Thai hot ) and grilled sausage were a fantastic pairing, bold and full of flavor. We shared the short rib curry and pad woon sen with chicken, and wow--rich, comforting, and incredibly flavorful across the board. Every dish impressed. Can't wait to come back. Wow - what an incredible experience! First of all, this restaurant is beautiful. This place is perfect for a date or special night out. The service and staff were phenomenal as well. While it's a new restaurant, the seemed to be mostly on top of the service kinks that new places tend to have. Plus, they were all so kind and made the experience memorable. Finally, and most importantly, the food. This is without a doubt the best Thai I've had period (ie not just New Orleans). The short rib curry was life changing. My wife's drunken noodle ranked as the best she'd ever had as well. Also, the margaritas are great (I know - it's a Thai restaurant - but trust me they're good). Highly recommend! read more

Heard about this place recently and finally made it over there last night. I never like being told that I won't be seated until the rest of my party (one person) shows up, and sure enough, by the time they arrived the three remaining tables in the front of house were taken. But there was one more in the back. That not withstanding, the ambience, service, and cuisine were magical. The menu offers pepper ratings for an indication of spicy hotness, and this can be adjusted to taste on order. The menu is inspired and enticing, and I can easily see working my way through it over time. Located in Midcity, conveniently 11 minutes from my house, it features space split between a bar, front room, back room, and a back deck, seating 100. The restaurant, which opened on New Year's Day 2026, also features a private party space in the back room that can accommodate 30 people. The entire experience was not only pleasant but outstanding, with my softshell crab being one of the best I've ever had - and I've had many - deep fried without being greasy, perfect crunchy texture, and expertly seasoned without being overwhelming. Finally, the environment was minimally but tastefully decorated, and I felt privileged to have a traditional Chada headdress on a stand next to my table. New Orleans is fortunate to have Chada. read more
