I visited here for the first time today for an early dinner and I had a great experience. There was nearby off-street paid parking that I chose. There was at least one nearby parking lot as another option. The overall service was great. The staff were polite and helpful. My friend and I were not rushed out. I ordered the red shrimp curry and it was very delicious. I also ordered the Thai tea tiramisu which I also enjoyed. I plan to return in the future to try other dishes. read more

I ordered the chicken khao soi, as recommended by several Yelpers--and it did not disappoint. The yellow curry was absolutely scrump-didlee-umptious! Creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned, though I wouldn't have minded a bit more chicken. It had a gentle kick--noticeable but manageable, even for someone who doesn't usually go for spicy food. Solid 9/10. We also tried the crab rangoon, five per order. They were bite-sized, crisp on the outside, creamy inside. I'm pretty sure it was imitation crab, but honestly, still tasty--especially with the dipping sauce. Another 9/10. Service was good overall, and the ambiance was nice. It's good to be a regular here because I was so graciously treated to the new soft shell crab appetizer which was perfectly friend and super tasty when coupled with the sweet chilli dipping sauce. I ordered my regular Khao Soi with shrimp as an entree and my friend had what appeared to be drunken noodles with chicken. He was very happy with his choice. Have tried drunken chicken and tofu, pad Thai, green and panang curry and a few other pad based dishes. The taste never disappoints. Ingredients are fresh, in adequate quantity, and overall taste is mild but flavorful (even when labeled spicy). Their tofu is always cooked well and present in adequate quantities in dishes, which is a pleasant surprise. Delivery and tableside services are efficient. Ambiance is pleasant. Walked in and the decor creates an incredible ambiance - I felt like I was transported to another country (in a good way!) Servers were very attentive to our needs and our order came out quickly. I got stood up by my date, but the ambience was so nice, I didn't much care. Stunning chandeliers made of metallic leaves and stylish modern decor give it a zen, peaceful vibe. Props to their interior decorator! I got the drunken noodles with tofu, and they were delicious. Nice chewy noodles and extra crispy tofu, and the spice level was just what I asked for. I greatly enjoyed it and finished everything. If I had to nitpick, I would have liked a little more salt, but that was easily fixed with a salt shaker. Also, the tofu could have used more sauce. It is usually tossed in it along with the noodles and it kinda seemed like this was fried and added after? Still delicious, though. I just made sure I got some tofu and some noodles in every bite to evenly distribute that saucey flavor. Service was friendly and my food came out quickly. This place is right en route to the PO which I go to regularly, so I'll definitely go back again. I want to try the curries. read more

My coworkers and I decided to dine here after work based on a couple of local recommendations. Just a few blocks from our office, Dahla is an easy, comfortable walk. Upon arriving shortly after 6pm on a Thursday, we were grateful to find plenty of seating at this small, intimate restaurant. We were seated immediately and were able to take advantage of the happy hour drinks. The interior of the restaurant is warm, inviting and friendly - perfect atmosphere for a casual dinner with easy conversation. I ordered a lychee mojito and it was not my favorite. There were crushed lychee in the bottom of the drink and it's served with sippy straws so it was a bit tough to drink. I've never seen a lychee mojito offered and in retrospect, I think the combination should not exist. On to the food! We ordered the crab ragoon and OMG these are really, really good. I may have been a bit too obsessed with them because I ended up eating 4 of them on my own. I love the shape of the little crispy pockets and the filling - sooo good! Based on the server's recommendation, I ordered the Crispy Duck Basil - Crispy duck, zucchini, carrots, onions, Thai basil, green & red peppers. This dish was very, very good. The duck was perfectly crispy and although it was a bit dry, the sauce was a nice accompaniment. The vegetables were a bit overcooked for my liking. The sauce is good but not the most versatile flavor profile -- it could have had a bit more contrast of flavors. One of the complaints of the table is the dishes are not spicy enough even when we ordered dishes with 3-4 chili peppers on the menu or increased the level to "Thai hot". The server told us to order 2x or 3x Thai hot in the future. A bit misleading, but I digress. We were offered the hot sauce trio, containing a few varieties to add more spice to our dishes but I wish they could just cook our dishes with a more realistic spice temperature scale. Overall a small complaint in the grand scheme of things. Service was quiet but great all around. The Thai competition seems to be strong in downtown New Orleans. Can't wait to come back! read more

Crab Rangoon did not use real crab but was cooked well and was acceptable for my daughter. My Tom Kah soup was way too sweet and seemed short on coconut milk. Chicken in the pad Thai was dry/tough and appeared to have been cooked the day before. The noodles/sauce also seemed like they were old and not made to order; rather gloopy. My daughter ordered the seafood pad Thai and her shrimp were truly over cooked and tough. We discussed a possible second visit and decided that neither of us would return. For dinner, fresh food should be prepared. We were the only ones there and with the exception of a few to-go orders, they were not busy so there's no excuse for serving substandard Pad Thai. read more

I recently visited this Thai restaurant with a friend and had an amazing time. They have a daily happy hour from 4:30-6:30 PM, offering $5 off their signature cocktails. We tried the Dahla 75, their twist on the classic French 75, and enjoyed it so much that we ordered it again. Although I usually opt for red curry, I decided to try the yellow curry based on our waiter's recommendation, and I was delighted with the choice! The waiter also suggested getting a side of rice to enjoy with the leftover curry after finishing the noodles, which was a fantastic tip. The ambiance is lovely, making it perfect for a date night. The staff was attentive and regularly checked in on us. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I will definitely be back. Tried a new Thai restaurant yesterday. Arrived for dinner around 630 without reservations and was seated quickly. Their website has a resy link but they must not be using it currently because no availability listed for the next 3 months. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered a lychee martini and my fried got the lychee mojito. The mojito was A LOT better than the martini. I really wanted the drunken noodles but decided to try something different so I got the volcano fish. It was a fried snapper filet over steamed veggies with sweet chili sauce with rice on the side. It was exactly as describer and while I enjoyed my meal I wouldnt get it again. My friend got the red curry with tofu and enjoyed her dish. We shared the ube cheesecake for dessert and both enjoyed it. All in all we enjoyed our dinner and I would come back if in the area but the location is not ideal for me and nothing stood out enough to make this my go to Thai spot read more

My work friends and I eat Dahla at least once a week, sometimes more. It's delicious and consistently excellent, and the employees are lovely people. I always get the tom yum soup (theirs is the best I've ever had, and I really consider my self a connoisseur of tom yum) and spicy drunken noodle or pad woon sen (glass noodle). I have been looking for a Thai restaurant and Dahla did not disappoint. This is a small restaurant nestled right in the CBD the inside is beautiful and the ambiance is so chill and mellow. We went during happy hour and I started with the strawberry lemon drop. It was pretty good very strong lemon taste and it was definitely not a weak drink. For the appetizer, we ordered the fried shrimp dumplings. I really enjoyed these as dumplings are one of my favorite foods, and I had never had them fried. 7/10. Then I went with my go to entree chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai noodles were full of big pieces of chicken, had a great flavor, the noodles were a little over cooked and I loved the spicy chili sauce served on the side but overall a delicious dish. The dining room is well appointed and perfect for a late dinner like I had or a date night. This was part of their Coolinary menu so priced very well (except for the cocktail) and I left satiated. Definitely would recommend and would come back. Only reason for the 4 stars is that I ordered the Khao Soi Chicken but in all fairness the server did offer to bring me the Khao Soi after I had devoured the Pad Kra Pao Kai lol which I politely declined. The thing that impressed me the most with this restaurant was how accommodating they were with my son. I came alone with my toddler son and they helped me get my stroller in the area safely and were talking to him and being soooo nice to him. It really warmed my heart! Revamped Thai Ocha; New name, same owner. Located near the Superdome, next to Willa Jean. Street parking. It's a small restaurant but also have outdoor seating available. The interior decor is simple but the gold leaves chandeliers are the finishing touches to the beautiful restaurant. We ordered a lot for two people because of course, I wanted to try a little bit of everything. We had the crispy calamari, shrimp tom yum, papaya salad, spicy drunken noodles, basil fried rice, and mango sticky rice. Everything was absolutely delicious! The flavors were well curated. Some dishes were a tad spicy but nothing overwhelming. It's a good type of spice, "kick". But then again, everyone's taste buds are different, so maybe spice levels may be requested for adjustments. Service was superb as well, considering how busy they were. Everyone seemed to work well together with smiling faces and kindness. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the noise. It was extremely loud because there was one large party. So, of course, every other table had to talk loudly or scream over one another. With it being such a small restaurant, I'm assuming it'll still be loud even without large parties. Besides that, this is easily one of our favorite Thai restaurants in New Orleans. read more

We visited this place on a Wednesday evening. We were a larger group of 8, we called ahead to ensure they could seat us prior to walking over. Service- it started off a little rocky. I felt with our larger party we weren't welcomed. The restaurant is very small, so I get it. We also had 4 kids with us who were very well behaved during the entire restaurant visit, but I feel they are catering more to adults as the restaurant was rather dark. Service ended up being better. I think only two men were running the entire place. They were both making the drinks and waiting on the tables. They were hustling, but the drinks took FOREVER. Food- it was all delicious. This is the reason for the four stars. Quality and pricing was just right. Food came out piping hot, the rolls were cooked so perfectly crispy that the kids couldn't get enough of them. It came with like 7 big shrimp but the shrimp seemed to have been fried separately and then added which was disappointing. Overall it was only ok!
