    Spicy chicken bowl
    Jason C.

I've had the spicy chicken bowl multiple times. It's always super fresh and delicious. All the flavors are perfect, and the food comes out fast. Be aware the spice packs a real punch!

    Chicken Bowl
    Karina P.

Stopped at Cartopia food trucks for a labor day lunch in Portland and decided to go with a basil chicken rice bowl topped with an egg. It came out in less than 10 mins which I was super happy about given some of the other trucks were claiming over 30 min waits to get your order! I liked the flavor and spice of the chicken, but found the bowl to be extremely dry. There was an overwhelming amount of rice that did not match the proportion of chicken given, making it difficult to enjoy as my bites were almost fully rice. Additionally, the egg was way overcooked so I could barely cut into it with a fork..made it tough to eat, especially since I only had a fork. Overall, definitely wasn't a top notch food truck experience! Given this was something so basic, I had a lot higher expectations!!

Pork belly fries with creamy Sriracha dipping sauce. Fresh coconut water!
    Mike R.

I loved their pork belly fries with Sriracha dipping sauce. The pork belly was very soft, flavorful with a little bit of chewy in it. I also love the coconut water! I don't know what it was, but I feel like this coconut water tastes better than the coconut water I've had straight from the coconuts in Hawaii!

Overall delicious food and fast service. The peanut sauce is amazing! Spicy Chicken and the Pad Thai burrito are my favorites.

It was so delicious that I brought my spouse back for dinner when he arrived later in the weekend. When I went the first night I got the shrimp pad Thai and it was the best pad Thai I've had in a long time. So full of flavor and fresh ingredients. I also got the hazy IPA from the local brewery, Backwoods. When we came back later in the weekend, my spouse got the shrimp pad Thai since I sang its praises. I got the million dollar shrimp tom kha ramen and it was DIVINE! I literally cherished every slurp and bite, it was so incredible and flavorful! My spouse got a different local IPA and I got a unique twist on a Negroni. The staff were extremely friendly helpful, ensuring that we had an impeccable experience from start to finish. Prices were also reasonable for the high quality ingredients, quantity, and presentation. The ambiance was wonderful, offering a clean, welcoming, and modern-green chic aesthetic. Not only did we have an amazing dinning experience, but also an amazing service and ambiance experience! If we are ever in town again, Buranko Cafe & Bar will be our top spot to stop!

The inside still looks really cute, but my mom and I didn't get to sit in the woven chairs even though it was pretty empty when we went. I probably should have asked to move tables, but I didn't want to make it a hassle for the staff. We ordered the cheesy crab wontons, shrimp pad thai, and crispy chicken. The crab wontons were really good , crunchy and filling are well seasoned it wasn't just stright up cream cheese, I enjoyed them a lot with the sweet chili sauce. The crispy chicken was also really yummy, can't say the same for the the pad thai tho it was so, so salty. I'll continue to come back in the future!

I've been coming here for nearly 10 years, and it never disappoints! My must-orders are the White Curry with their burnt brisket 10/10, the Mushroom Fried Rice 10/10, and the Carpaccio Crudo 10/10. The white curry is unbelievably rich and savory - the burnt brisket completely makes the dish unique! I genuinely dream about it! If you're visiting Portland and only have time for one meal, this is the restaurant I'd recommend without hesitation. There are no reservations, so you'll need to put your name on the waitlist and be patient. Seating is limited, but it's 100% worth the wait! Don't skip the drinks either - they're served in the cutest mugs. Eem continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Portland and I can't recommend it enough!

We stayed, and while the food was absolutely delicious (the Massaman curry with lamb as well as fried chicken were absolutely delightful!), the portion sizes and the Thai iced tea beverages were smaller than expected. The service was prompt and accurate. Next time, we would take the food to go rather than endure unfriendly wait and seating arrangements. The neon lights and vibrant atmosphere are a total dopamine boost, especially after a night out! I hadn't been back since their post-COVID renovation, and I was so impressed! They have a dedicated pickup area for to-go orders, and dining in is quick and efficient, even when there's a line. The decor is fun, the service is streamlined, and the food will leave you feeling full and happy. If you're ending the night in downtown Portland, Luc Lac is the perfect late-night stop!

With that being said, I do think that the food could use a bit more work. The restaurant is called Luc Lac, and so naturally I ordered their namesake dish. The beef was not very tender or juicy and the flavors overall seemed to be lacking. Portion sizes, however, are very generous, so I'll give them that. I tried the Durian Horchata and sadly could not taste any durian flavor. I know that durian can be an acquired taste (and smell), but the drink just tasted like a regular horchata with some hints of pandan. Maybe I will return to try their cocktails.

Our waiter was very attentive. When a server delivered our fries to the table, he kind of made a face. Naturally, we were a bit taken aback. I probably made a face, too. Immediately, our waiter came to the table to check on us to see if everything was okay. The restaurant has colorful and quirky interior. My kind of vibe. Not stuffy and a little messy. The food was fantastic. I distinctly remember my experience was basically a salt bomb, it was overly salty and overshadowed any potential flavor. This was not the case on our last visit. It was more than redeeming. Bad experience, what? We got the two specials to share - ribs in a tamarind sauce and braised beef tongue. They were both so, so good. The ribs were tender and wonderfully flavored. The tongue came with a nice pickle like salad on the side. For veggies, we shared the water spinach sauteed in this pungent shrimp paste sauce goodness. My sister packed the sauce home to eat with rice. Oh and the fries! The salted egg yolk flavor is mild, but good. Add the burnt ends.
