We came on a hot day so they were only open after 7pm. As we went up to order, the owner seemed annoyed and grumpy with us (possibly because of the heat) Nonetheless our food came out fast. I had the fried avocado taco plate. The tacos themselves were just decent, the fried avocado pieces were underwhelming and bland and the tortilla was a bit too toasted for my liking. However, the slaw and all the different sauces really amped up the brightness and spicy/sweet flavor. The cilantro lime rice had good flavor, but the rice texture was mushy. The Mac salad was solid, but was missing the traditional sweetness I'd expect. It's worth mentioning my boyfriend really enjoyed his chicken and his rice wasn't overcooked at all. read more

WOW this place is SO good! We stopped by for dinner and we were back again for lunch the very next morning. The mahi taco plate comes with three sides - rice, Mac salad, and coleslaw. I am not a coleslaw girlie; I will go out of my way to get anything BUT coleslaw. However, this one is INSANELY good!! The Mac salad and rice are yummy and filling. Now, the mahi tacos.... YUM!!! The service is phenomenal he was super nice and helpful. We got almost everything on the menu, the Mahi taco was better than the one I had fresh off the boat in Hawaii!! My mind was blown... the chicken taco was my next favorite, the fried avocado taco was alright I wouldn't order it again, but it was interesting. I shared the 3 taco plate with my cousin and o...m...g.... The fried avocado was SO GOOD. I still think about it! Perfectly crispy, creamy, flavorful, and of course full of the magical essence of avo. The pork was really great too, but I don't remember it too much. Really, nothing compares to that fried avocado... My cousin had the mahi taco and she said it was super tasty! I tried two of the salsas. The green was good but the habanero was incredible. Too bad most of it spilled into the basket (our fault) and I didn't want to out them another splash of it. Great spot for some island style tacos. I've tried all the tacos and pork sliders as well. The flour tortillas have just the perfect amount of char and crunch to them. You can choose natural or blackened, blackened is the way to go. Great value here, I usually spend about $10 and leave full and satisfied. read more

The grilled mahi taco reminded me of Maui Tacos, and it was delicious! Flour tortilla instead of corn, grilled fish (can get blackened, but I opted for "natural"), crema, pico, cabbage, and cheese. It was really tasty, and all the ingredients were well thought out and complimentary. I opted for the plate which came with mac salad, coleslaw, and cilantro rice. The rice was the only miss for me. It was dubbed "cilantro rice", and it was literally steamed white rice topped with minced cilantro. I was expecting more of a seasoned type rice, kinda like Chipotle, but it was still good. I had the best experience here. The guy who owns it and runs it was so good to me. I messed up my order by not realizing the lime sauce was sour cream based, and I can't eat sour cream. With no complaints he took it back and made me a new one without it. We got to talking and he shared he was working two jobs - the cart and a second one. However, went here on Monday during lunch and he was opening late (totally fine, we had a beer while we waited) and when he opened I went up to place my order he was very rude to me and seemed annoyed that I wanted to order food there. When we later asked for some to-go boxes, he was very hostile towards us for it. Again, the food is fantastic, but it was not great to be treated this way. read more

This Place is AMAZING. The Mahi Mahi is on point, the lime cilantro rice a nice balance and the slaw was refreshing. My bf ordered the fried avocado taco and it was our favorite thing we tried. My only complaint is that the portions on the platter felt small. I didn't leave full! That being said... Super worth the trip. Avocado was the best. Tortillas are a little think/store bought. Pro of that, is that your taco won't fall apart on you. I have been looking for fish tacos for awhile, and I did in fact go to Mahi Taco with them in mind... but I got to his window and was enamored with the aroma of his kalua pork, so I ordered that instead! He serves it on King's Hawaiian bread, the perfect choice for his tender, flavorful pulled pork. The red cabbage slaw is a nice foil for the meat and bread's sweetness, just enough tang to balance. We also got a chicken quesadilla, and again, perfectly tender and tasty meat, with colby cheese. His house-made lime sour cream sauce ROCKed it, a way cool twist!
