I've been craving Thai food very frequently while at work and I like to try new spots to see which place I like the best. Here's what I ordered: **Pad Thai w/ Chicken: OH MY GOD, this was hands down one of the best pad thai dishes I've ever had. The only downside was that the noodles were cut so short to the point where I could've eaten it with a spoon. The portions were so generous, but not so much with the chicken. For the price, I was surprised that they served so much. (4.3/5) **Spring Rolls w/ Shrimp: This is where my review just foes from good to average. I posted two pictures of their spring rolls and It's the first of its kind that I've encountered. First off, there was absolutely no rice vermicelli to be found. Second, why is there so much lettuce? The portions of lettuce to everything else was at least 5:1. You know how your typical spring rolls are served with a peanut sauce? These were served with a salty AF soy sauce based mixture. I'd rename this to "Super bland lettuce rolls with soy sauce, topped off with extra salt." (0/5) Don't get me wrong here, if I had just ordered the pad thai, this would've possibly been a perfect 5/5, but those spring rolls totally ruined the vibe. read more

As we were driving by my husband said let's try this place. Did not look for reviews just parked the car and went in. Food is so good delicious chicken pineapple fried rice. The amount of Thai iced tea given is so generous! I did not catch the waitress name, but she was a wonderful host. If I lived close I would come here to eat once a week it's that delicious. I just finished my meal and I disliked it. I ordered the yellow curry (lunch special) and it was very bland. It did not taste very authentic like every other Thai foods that I usually eat. The entire meal is also small for the price of $12.99. The "wonton soup" that was included in the lunch meal is nothing like wonton soup as advertised. FOOD I definitely had low expectations coming in here, but I'm so glad they weren't met. The food here was so delicious! I ordered the lunch special green curry with beef medium spicy. The beef was tender and the curry spicy level had the right amount of kick for me. The special comes with wonton soup, salad and rice along with the entree you pick. I also ordered the Thai ice tea and it was pretty good. I got a container to take the leftover curry to go and also a to-go cup for my drink. SERVICE Service was decent. It did take them some time to take our order, but the food came out relatively quick. PARKING It's located in a plaza so there's parking spots. My dish was cooked perfectly including the shrimp and the fried rice was tasty as well. The menu is large, containing a variety of choices including several curry dishes. I thought it was weird to put the word authentic on your restaurant sign and didn't think I'd want to try Cha Thai but I was judging before I tried their food. We got the usual prik king pork, panang curry beef, and pad thai. I ordered shrimp fried rice based on other yelp photos and he ordered an additional broccoli beef because we just order way too much food. Their spicy scale is from 1 - 10. I have ordered the 10, 10+ many times and every time it's different. The panang curry is nice and thick. I really like it but we need to order it mild but the mild spice has come in varying spice levels as well, my poor bf. Price is a bit higher than we'd like but it comes with convenience. Probably the best Thai food in the area. Its your basic Thai foos with the regular Thai food that you come to expect. The ambience is nice and well kept. The only negative that I have to say is that they close for 2 hours in the middle of the day which is probably the best time for us to go to the restaurant. Craving Thai and in the area, we Yelped and found this establishment. Arriving at 8pm (they closed at 9) the staff welcomed us in graciously, took our drink orders quickly and provided us with menus. In addition to a large Thai food menu they also serve a well crafted sushi menu. We tried both, nothing fancy for us, some yellowtail sushi and a spicy tuna roll, wonton soup and an order of Larb. Everything was delicious. The fish fresh and generous, served elegantly. The small order of wonton soup was enough for three with a rich broth, homemade wontons and lots of chicken and veggies, I loved it. The Larb was good too, a little lemongrass forward for me, but still homemade, innovative spices, a very large portion served beside a fresh iceberg salad with shaved carrot straws. I also ordered a Thai tea that was the perfect accompaniment to all the savory dishes. Truly enjoyed our dining experience, will be back again. read more

I used to come here often when I worked nearby about 13 years ago. I'm happy to see that they are still around, despite the rundown strip mall that they are located in. Upon arrival, I noticed that they had remodeled since the last time I had been there, which was a few years ago. It looks like they got a new coat of paint and new booths & tables. I was the first one to arrive at 11am, and they seated me in a big booth near the window. I already knew what I wanted - the #5 lunch special - beef Pad Prik for $7.95. It comes with rice, salad & soup. I also ordered a Thai iced tea, because that's my fav drink at a Thai restaurant! The food came out extremely fast - like 5-10 minutes. First, the wonton soup. It was very tasty! Then came the beef pad prik. I had requested mild spicy as I remembered that their dishes used to be very spicy. The portion size was smaller than I remembered it, but then I realized that I used to get the dinner version to go (which is larger). For lunch, it was the perfect size. The pad prik was very tasty. There's something about that sauce that brings it altogether. The salad was forgettable. I think I was turned off by the mayonnaise salad dressing. The Thai iced tea was much bigger than I thought it would be and very delicious. The service was outstanding - the waitresses were very friendly and efficient. In addition, the food came out fast and it was just as tasty as I remembered it from before. The lunch special prices were very reasonable as well. Cha Thai is the closest Thai restaurant to my office and I feel like it will be a competitive option for days where I get too busy to pack or forget my lunch at home. The largest factors for me are proximity and really good value lunch specials! Their lunch specials are daily from 11am-3pm and each lunch special comes with wonton soup and steamed rice. You can pick your protein: chicken, pork, beef or shrimp (extra $2). They have 15 items to choose from on the lunch specials and I have tried the Yellow Curry with a decent amount of chicken, potatoes and carrots. It was pretty spicy, as indicated on the menu. I felt like it was not the greatest curry, but definitely not bad. The prices are really reasonable given the portion and every thing it comes with. I have also ordered their Chicken Tom Yum Soup ($5/bowl). This Thai style hot and sour soup is spicy with lemon grass and ginger in the soup base. It had a hefty amount of chicken and mushrooms. The lemongrass and ginger is exactly what I crave whenever I'm feeling cold or under the weather. I just wish that they didn't make it so saltyyyyyy. On another visit I tried their Chicken Satay ($8.95). 6 charbroiled chicken skewers are served with the Thai Peanut sauce and cucumber relish. The chicken was surprisingly flavorful and moist. You really get the charbroiled flavors in each bite without the chicken drying out. I enjoyed their peanut sauce, but not so much their basic version of the cucumber. I was also surprised to see that no bread slices was served alongside the satay, unlike all other Thai restaurants I have been to. Overall their friendly service, proximity to my workplace and reasonable prices will keep me coming back. Just keep in mind that they have a $10 credit card minimum if you do not have any cash on hand. I feel like that is pretty reasonable... At least it isn't cash only. read more

The dishes were fresh and delicious! I came here with my clan on Tuesday afternoon during new year holiday. The Thai ambiance was cute and lovely. Everywhere was clean. The server was polite and attentive, always greeted you with a smile, so were the owners. The owner recommended dishes for us. We ordered Pad-Thai, Pad-See-Ew, Papaya salad, and Tom Yum Seafood. The chef sent us a complimentary soup like a Bak Kut Teh. All were wonderful! For desert, we had fried banana! What a delicious treat, it reminded me of my childhood. We also had mango sticky rice, the heart shape presentation was unforgettable. We also ordered a pineapple shrimp fried rice for to go. We felt like we had finally found a good Thai in Orange. The food is very good and the service has language difficulties but is very attentive. We were asked one night what music we preferred, that never happens! We have eaten most dishes here over five visits and all are good. I would prefer Tom Yum seafood soup with just shrimp instead of all the other seafood, which I found rather uninteresting. Maybe I should just ask for shrimp only? It's reasonable priced and I will be ordering again, but only takeout. Why, because once again in Orange the cleaners come in at 8.30PM and literally start washing the floor a few feet away with the smell of bleach permeating the whole place? Totally unacceptable. Every time we visited this happened. Each time I thought it was a one off thing, but no! The cleaner actually glared at me one visit as we were the last ones there. Ehh... It was ok... Honestly, I probably would recommend against ordering food from here. My friends and I were staying at a hotel near by and used Uber Eats to order this. Uber Eats was super convenient but the food wasn't that great The Pad Thai was very sugary and made my friend super sick all evening, but food poisoning sick, just from the poor quality. I didn't get sick from mine. I usually LOVE Pad Thai, even if it's not super high quality, but I only ate a fraction of mine before throwing it away. It just .... wasn't good unfortunately. My Pad Thai did have the extra veggies I requested but my friends curry didn't come with the rice! We called but they said they don't serve rice with the curry and that they will not deliver any to us. This was extremely disappointing as she had ordered the curry partly for the rice itself. $80 experience ! This location use to be one of my favorite spots for a late night meal. I"d haven't been back in over a year. I took an under from Irvine to pick up a Togo order . When I got home I realized my order was incorrect . I contacted the location to get the order remade and brought the incorrect order back. I wanted about 15 minutes for the order to be corrected . Went back home to eat the food and it had an awful taste of burnt fried rice. I would say that the vegetable egg rolls are really good, and that what we ended up eating for dinner . We trashed the meal, since this was the 2nd attempt retuning to the location would not have changed the quality of the food. Also, I ordered a Thai iced tea which was too sweet to drink, that was trashed as well. With the order of food, tip and Uber charge, this was a $80 waste . I will not be returning back to the location. I am giving two starts for the friendliest of the staff and the cleanest of the facility . read more

The chicken panang was phenomenal, the portion is a tad small but also reasonably priced for what you order. I will say I have a tremendous appetite so I'm likely better off with a portion that's a bit smaller but by no means tiny.
