No way, Jose. I went there because I was in the City of Orange and it was close to the place I had to be. I regretted going into this place the minute I sat down because of the unpleasant and damp smell. The tea mug was dirty and the tea water wasn't hot enough. I ordered a beef stew noodle soup and my friend ordered the BBQ beef entree. You had to order rice separately from the entree. Don't miss out on this great little Thai place! The restaurant's located in a run-down shopping center behind Fresh & Easy. The place tends to get quite crowded come lunchtime. Try the usual Thai dishes if you want, but the absolute MUST-HAVES are the Kai Kua noodles and the Mint Leaf Shrimp. I haven't been able to find these mouthwatering dishes elsewhere (not to the same degree of quality, anyway). Food is always cooked to perfection, prices are affordable, and service is great too. This place is a joke. TWICE, they've sent completely incorrect orders through UberEats, causing tons of problems for me AND the poor Uber drivers who've had to spend time and gas going back and forth + tons of time on the phone with support. When asked, the restaurant doesn't care at all. In fact, this time, they actually said, "We don't have the lunch special on the weekend, so we just sent it without all the items." Mind you, they didn't do either option available to them, which is to decline the order OR call me to ask if I'd like something different. The MOST unprofessional place ever. It's "your fault" and "Uber's fault" that they didn't FEEL like giving you the items you ordered and paid for. I ordered delivery from here tonight from uber eats.. I ordered from the "curries" section. For $9 I literally just got curry sauce. I called thinking it must be an error and they said I ordered from the a la carte menu (which I didn't) and that it didn't even come with rice that I should have ordered off the dinner menu. I assumed those were some sort of combo specials because they came with appetizers for the same exact price. So disappointing I kind of feel ripped off. Would never order from there again. This is my favorite Thai food place! I love coming with my boyfriend to eat there or even to just order it for takeout. The pad Thai is my ABSOLUTE favorite! I love that they can make it spicy too. Also, won ton soup=heaven, especially if you order the flamin' pot if you dine in because there's literally a flame in the pot which I think is totally awesome. Service there is great! I am giving a one star review because of customer service. My employer just placed a large order with this restaurant as we are celebrating a promotion and a bday. I ordered the Broccoli and Chow Mein Lunch specials. Unfortunately, the coworkers that picked up the food failed to check for everything and when they got here I was missing the Chow Mein special. The worst part is, that my colleague called to advice them of the issue and requested a refund to his credit card. Well, they refused to issue a REFUND, claiming that they don't do that. Furthermore, they stated that the order was complete and accurate. Well let me tell you it was not! My coworker said that I only have to pay for the one since he don't check before leaving the restaurant but how unprofessional of this restaurant not to issue a refund for their mistake. They told my coworker that if he wanted a refund, he had to go back physically so they can issue cash or free food! Wow! I hope that we never order food from this place. If my coworkers happen to do so I will not take part. Imagine, having to pay for something you didn't receive, then being told that your order is correct, in other words you're lying! Really? For $8.95, my coffee drinks are $8.95. Never again! You have lost a potential customer and hopefully our business. Plenty of other honest Thai restaurants. Btw, you ruined my lunch! My son has been ordering food from Cha Thai from Uber eats for a while. This is the first time I tried their curries. I had the green veggie curry and my parents had the red. Both have very authentic Thai flavors that are fresh and not overly heavy on coconut milk. Now I understand his love for this restaurant. read more

Just got delivery from here and it was not great. I got the veggie red curry and asked for it without the extra veggies mentioned in the description, since what I really want is a regular red curry (bell peppers, bamboo shoots and some carrot ok) with tofu. Instead I got a cup totally full of bok choy and frozen mixed veggies. The curry liquid itself was tasty and moderately spicy (ordered "very spicy") but there wasn't much of it. I also was super disappointed that there was only 2 small pieces of tofu in the entire dish (very thin slices about 1-2 inches long and 1" wide). The delivery was fast, so that was nice. I shared some of my husbands plain fried rice which was good, but also not the "spicy fried rice" he ordered. We ordered here because our normal place is closed on Tuesday's. If we get Thai on a Tuesday again it won't be from here. read more

Favorite thai place in OC. Period. The pad thai is the only dish I have ordered and it's amazing. The dark orange colored noodles are unlike anything I have seen in this area. Very tasty. They remodeled recently and it's a nice atmosphere for dining in. Most times I call ahead for take out and when I arrive it's ready to go. I didn't have the awful experience others had. We ordered the orange chicken plate (no rice is included with this plate), pad se ew with beef and a side of fried rice with Thai tea. Here's what I thought: The portion sizes were medium. I've had smaller and larger for the same price elsewhere. The flavors and textures were spot-on for both plates and the prices were where they should be. The sauces at any restaurant can make or break a meal and both were outstanding here. Enough so that I would come back for sure. In fact, I loved their sauces. So why four and not five stars? The 'side of fried rice' was tasteless and a waste of my money. Second, portions should be on the large side of things, not in the middle. If you're okay with that then you'll come here too. (The tea was outstanding too, albeit the glass should have been larger I thought.) I recommend this place to you but I also recommend they increase their portion size and re-do the fried rice. Came in for lunch and it was just ok. Place is small and tables were too close to each other. Service is slow. Food is ok, but I have had better elsewhere. Their condiments were old the chili in vinegar was soggy. We finished our lunch and sitting at the table waiting for someone to come to give us our check for about 10 mins and when it came they gave us the wrong bill. I've been hearing about this place for a while from my husband, whose Thai coworker declared it her favorite Thai place in OC. Every time I order yellow curry from Phuket, Thai Nakorn, and Jumpa Thai, I'd always hear the same refrain: "It's so much better at Cha Thai." Well suckas, I finally got to try it, and I must say that yes, the yellow curry IS better here. It has the best balance of flavors, and the potatoes and carrots were cooked to a nice tenderness, not like the hard spuds we'd encountered at Thai Nakorn and Jumpa Thai recently. So I'll give Cha Thai the yellow curry advantage. The pad thai, however, was a bit too vinegary for me, and the noodles just a tad too soft and orange. I think I liked the pad thai at Jumpa better. Plus, the overall ambiance wasn't too great--it's a totally ancient mom-and-pop place, with ugly 60s wood paneling on the walls, kitschy Thai knicknacks and posters, and worn furniture. If the food had totally knocked my socks off it wouldn't have bothered me as much, but since it didn't, well I couldn't help but notice. The service was very courteous and prompt, and if I'm really jonesing for yellow curry I'd come back, but I think I prefer Jumpa for the better proximity, decor, and good food. read more

part 2 of Andy P adventures in OC: Cha Thai. I am a sucker for Thai food, and I was driving from LA to SD again, AND Andy P was free to meet up (this is his new hood sort of), so it was perfect! The service here is really good, parking is easy, and prices are very reasonable! (think ~$9-$10 a dish pretax, pretip). We ordered: -pad see ew beef -pineapple fried rice with chicken, come also with shrimp -pad thai with chicken So basically the American-est things possible. My favorite was the pad see ew, which had a pretty good depth of flavor but wasn't anything to write home about. All the dishes were good, but I have had better. I think 3.5 stars for food because it was enjoyable but not THE best i've had, but the service was so good and friendly, the price was right, and all around the experience was very good! read more
