9/8/24 Can you smell that smell? I certainly could. I don't know what someone was cooking in the employee's break room, but it triggered a two memories I have seen in other massage places. I had wanted to get a 90 minute massage, but unfortunately they were maxed out. I waited around for a while thinking that smell would go away, but it didn't. The woman I talked to wasn't the friendliest person I have met, but she did suggest I come back in 1 hour. I said "okay" and left. 1 hour later, I returned only to be greeted by That Smell. Apparently the staff working there couldn't smell that smell, or they have gotten use to it. The customers who were there either put up with the smell or left feeling nauseated. I knew I could get a massage here on this day. I truly hope they don't cook whatever it was again, because the next person that smells that smell, might have a lot more to say than I. I am willing to try this place out one more time, but I don't know when this will be. As for now, this place gets a 1 star. read more

The massage therapist asks - in the middle of my massage - if I want essential oil. I initially said "yes", but she said it's "$85". Not sure I'm if I heard this number "$85" correctly.... But that's $20 more for my regular massage. So, an up-charge of $20 for essential oils? Does that mean they use cheap body oil for regular customers? And I did not appreciate them trying to up-charge services in the middle of my massage. If they wanted to give me a choice to pay for additional for essential oil, they should be asking this before my massage started. As soon as I said "no" to the essential oil, the massage therapist flipped the towel on my face.... And during the massage, she threw my arm to the side instead of slowly lowing it. It was quite an unpleasant experience. And so I thought to myself that I would give 15% tip instead of 20%. I go to the front to pay... and pay 15%, and the massage therapist started saying something unpleasant with fingers pointing to somewhere else and just walks off. I look to where she's pointing and they put a tip guideline for my $65 massage and it's minimum tip of $20. So the business recommend that we pay at minimum 30% tip. Ridiculous. In addition, I don't carry any cash... and so they charged $2 for credit card payment which is ridiculously high. read more

I've seen a few reviews that reference too hard or too soft. trust me...if you communicate with the employees, they will adjust to your needs. I rarely write reviews. In fact i'm a pretty generous and considerate person, especially when it comes to labor workers, but this really warrants a "I told you so". Worst massage I've ever had, it's more like just a nudge here and there. Worse part is the receptionist charged me $47 for only 30 minutes, even though i expressed i was unsatisfied only 15 minutes in to it and wanted to change masseuse. The masseuse stated there's no one else and that I need to just finish up the 30 minutes!! Wonderful! This place is quiet and I got in very soon after I called. Their masseuse are trained well. I've been having some stiffness on my shoulders and neck. One time I had it with Cindy and she did well. She was a little too light for me but it was still a good massage. The other time I had another gal which was super good, just the right pressure and concentrate on areas where I needed most. I'm writing this review as I'm seating in the parking lot after receiving a massage. I kept on seeing this place as I drive my kids to school every day and finally wanted to give it a try. Pros: they accept walk ins and the price is reasonable $65/60min and $95/90min. Plus their location is convenient. Cons: too much elbowing [even after telling the masseuse], they charge $20 for essential oil that cost for less than $10 on amazon for the full bottle. The lady did NOT explain it was $20, otherwise I would have kindly decline. I didn't see anyone changing towels or sheets. I'm actually now wondering if the how towels they used are even clean. Overall the massage was just OK compared to a similar places I've tried in the past. This will not be a place that I will frequent or return to again. It depends who you get. Lilly was nice and strong too strong but hurt my upper spine by doing it down my spine too hard and much directly on it. It is still hurting and I should have spoken up during it. My friend had someone whose name started with an H and loved hers so she said 4 and I said 2 (also it was hard to breathe in the head holder and less comfortable than others) so I gave it 3 to balance our scores. I feel bad but I never had them directly hurt my upper spine like this. Again I should have told her to stop. I did say less hard once and try to move her over off it. I cried in my car. I booked for 90 min massage but have to end in 30 min. The masseuses was literally just rubbing my body and when i asked her to press my knot she literally told me to do 30 min instead then i said thats fine. When i went in counter and i asked the owner if there are some other therapists that can see me since its been long gap I didn't treat myself after recently having baby. I was so excited to treat myself and this place ruined my day. After that i searched massage near me and see FF massage which was just across the street and they were able to see me right away, the lady there did amazing job and i happily tipped her 30$ and i feel reenergised! read more

I was diagnosed with Piriformis Syndrome in 2015. It was caused by a back injury dating back to 2010 when I rushed to get my suitcase off the baggage carousel at IAD. I wasn't using proper form when lifting the suitcase, and sadly- those 5 seconds of carelessness changed my life forever. After being hospitalized 3 times for debilitating back pain, and being misdiagnosed twice- 5 years later, a chiropractor finally explained I was suffering from Piriformis Syndrome. Her "prescription" was for me to get weekly deep tissue massages for 6-8 weeks along with ongoing Electronic Impulse Adjustments. I found C.H Massage online. I am providing a detailed account of my background to explain that I went through so much before I finally found a sustainable solution. My therapists at C.H Massage (I rotate between 3) use elbows, forearms, thumbs, and knees- yes, knees, to relieve muscle tightness in my back, glutes, and shoulder blades. I feel like jello everytime I leave! They respect my desire for a "quiet" massage, so there's no "small talk." They literally massage the full 60 (or 90) minutes. And- you also get free hot stones at the end! Also, you can ask for a loyalty card which you get stamped everytime you get a massage (60 min and over). After a certain number of stamps, you earn 50% off. Woo hoo! Now, if you're looking for a "spa" experience, this is not the place. But if you're looking for long-term pain relief from muscle pain, stiffness, injury, etc. you will not be dissapointed! C.H Massage is awesome! read more

Had an opportunity to get a great foot massage and neck/shoulder massage. I went with a couple of colleagues and we all liked it! They first start you off by sitting on a rectangle ottoman. Your masseuse will massage your shoulder/neck. Afterwards, you play on the cushy chair, and they'll massage your feet and kinda your calves. Definitely a different experience, because I'm used to other spa places and Massage Envy. For $52, it was great for 1hour. I'm not too keen on all male masseuse, I always ask for a female. But these guys are harmless - I hope at least, and made me and my gals felt comfortable. Will definitely come back when I'm in need for more foot massage! Parking - ample Workers there - professional, quiet, doesn't talk to you (good for me). A quiet and relaxation place. Tips - they prefer upwards of $10 and more, there's a chart for guidance. Finding a good masseuse has been my constant struggle this summer, but no more! I called a little ahead of time to come in, and was able to get an appointment with no problem. I did notice that they also welcome walk-ins, which is convenient. I was paired with Rose, who was friendly with thumbs and elbow strength of a Muscle Master. There was no puzzle, no misconnection, no minute wasted on silly rubs. Rose pinpointed my sore spots, and when I asked her to apply more pressure, she went at it. She was popping knots like she was on a mission. Slowly going inch by inch across my shoulders eliminating every bit of soreness. I didn't have to tell her where I was hurting. She knew. I couldn't believe that 60 minutes has passed already, I wish time could've slowed down! Hands down, best massage I've had in the DMV. The price can't be beat. $62 for an hour of pure heaven. Called and got a massage appointment for the same day for both my mother and me. It was super easy to call and make the appointment - just gave my name and time. When we arrived, we were taken to our 'rooms' and given the usual rundown of undressing and all. My mother has some restrictions and voiced that right away. She was very happy with her overall experience. While I did enjoy my massage, I was surprised that I was never asked what kind of massage I wanted. Once I was ready, someone came in and just started to massage me - he didn't ask any questions (areas to focus on? type of massage? thus the 3star review). I still am not sure what kind of massage I received. It felt good overall and at one point I did ask for more pressure, which he did apply. We went for a couples massage for my girl's birthday and was taken to a room. The massage was great and thorough. The beginning was very soothing and relaxing then I asked for more pressure, which felt good and got out some kinks. It was nice to get some hot stone action on my legs and back as well. I expect the massage door closes the whole time but I only find out it was WIDELY OPENED when I was flipped up for the foot massage. Maybe they went out to pick the stones for the back massage and maybe the room temperature was hot. I had my gym shorts on so I didn't mind much for the gap at that point. But it should never left open. I respect and appreciate the business, and I love to encourage small businesses but something needs to change. I don't know the name of the lady but she was in her middle age. I feel like my body parts are toys being tossed around, every movement was tooo fast and aggressive, I have to emphasize again that it was aggressive I was shocked. I didn't call it out and stop bc I thought it maybe just this time and only requested if she could be more gentle, but I'm actually offended and it happened again and again. Like the way the towels/blankets being tossed on my head and body just like throwing on an item, I was laying backward but I still can feel how aggressive it was being done. Soo much oils were applied and slipped on the skin, and when she cleaned up the oils it was like wipping food off from table lol and the towels are not soft for that much strip, as if my skin being exfoliate. The massage was not entirely targeted, sometimes she just grab and slide to get the step done. The gap between a massage and body violation is tiny, never have I felt someone disrespect my body this much. I feel sorry for saying this many words to the person, their job and the business but I am still shocked and scared. I spoke with the front desk but can't say it all bc the lady was standing there. Went to CH Massage for my first ever massage and it was wonderful. I had the foot massage which included shoulders, neck and head. As my feet soaked at the beginning of the massage the masseuse spent 15 mins on my upper back, neck and head. The massage was firm and really put me into relaxation mode. The last 45 mins were spent on my feet. The foot massage included everything from my calves all the way down to each individual toe. I really can't imagine a better foot massage then I received at CH. The environment was pleasant with soft music playing. The massage area is open with dividers separating each massage station. During the massage they cover your eyes with a nice weighted blindfold which really puts you in the zone. I will definitely be back for many more massages. The massage pricing at CH is very reasonable and the service is equal to much higher priced massages. read more

Update: I've had mixed experiences here. I've been about 6 times total over the past few months. Most of the time, my messeuse has been great. But once, it was awful. I almost got up and left because she kept digging her elbows into my soft parts. I asked numerous times (at least six) for less pressure. Within 3 minutes, she was back to pain. Bottom line: DO NOT be afraid to say something if the messeuse is hurting you. Other than that one bad experience, it's a great place to come for no other reason that it's surprisingly affordable at $60 per hour. Also, I've always been able to walk right in without a reservation. Score. ____________________ So many things to say about CH Massage! Out of desperation I went to CH Massage as I was/am experiencing an intense episode of neuropathy symptoms and had a myriad of muscle rocks throughout my body. The desperation came out of the need to try to find some relief from pain and the lack of availability of my normal massage therapist at the last minute.
