She doesn't need to be told where to focus she knows. She is also very communicative about pressure until she gets to know you. Serenity, while not upscale/high end, is clean and does not smell, which is what I care about. Additionally, Serenity has private rooms while other similarly priced massage places have curtains/pipe and drape (and frequently an odor.) Generally these days I count myself as both fortunate and unfortunate that I lack the energy or need to argue; but likewise, I am not so quick to offer a swift and harsh response against the most mild of slights. And likewise, I am fortunate enough to find many to most businesses are reasonable; either in avoiding bullshizzle, or in rectifying bullshizzle. With that said, this spa is no different than any other in terms of quality of product. My primary reason for coming here in the past was due to location only. However I have noticed with each and every time that the service has steadily become worse and worse. This review is not a knee jerk reaction to one experience, rather it is the culmination of four or five occurrences. So I beg your understanding as well as your attention when I proffer the advice to never patronize this establishment. To subsidize prices that are increasingly going up and that are murky, think of gym memberships that have hidden or alternative fees, this business offers a club/subscription model. When you think about how much you would have to patronize this business to actually save anything, not only would you actually be spending more but you might feel compelled to go in extra just to "make up" money that you are ultimately going into the red for. But ultimately that is a buyer beware problem. The crux of my umbrage today is due to the fact that I, having been solicited at great length to opt into the membership, decided to comply. I was assured that the fee would pay itself as I would receive a complimentary massage on my birthday. As my birthday is in January, I purchased the package in April of 2022; and sought to redeem the gift just now, in January of 2023. In having booked the appointment over the phone, I informed the operator that I had intended to make use of my gift massage. She confirmed and noted such transaction. Shortly thereafter, she proceeds to text me and tells me that I have surrendered my gift because my membership had elapsed more than one year, resulting in me having forfeited a gift I never used. This person then tried to solicit/extort additional money by asking me if I still wished to have a massage under regular/member pricing. I told her that my membership could not possibly have elapsed because I purchased the subscription after my birthday of the previous year, and given that my birthday had not yet occurred at the time of booking the appointment (or even at the time of writing this), I was still privy to further member benefits. After a substantial delay, the operator got back to me and acknowledged that "she made a mistake". Cue monumental eye roll. Huge strike, but hey, I can laugh off a good attempt at a shakedown hustle; however BS it is; as many people indeed do not watch and monitor their subscriptions. Onus on the customer eh. So they call me back and then proceed to text me a few times here and there, doing this whole song-and-dance of confirming and being fake apologetic, smoothing me over. I insist it's all good; just looking forward to my birthday/gift. Nothing to the contrary is uttered for over a week. Fast forward to the day of my massage, they tell me that they are actually not an operation and that I need to reschedule. I tell them no big deal, just set me for the same time a week later. The name of the business is now called CJ CI SPA. I have no idea what the abbreviations stand for, but it hardly matters right now. What does matter are the prices on the card versus the prices in the store. On the card table showers are included in the price you pay. On the wall in the shop, the price for a table shower is ten dollars more. I did not get photos on this visit, but I wish I had. The brown single chairs have been removed. A big white Santini Futon has replaced the brown solo chairs. I sat there for a while thinking about some questions for the new business, but never got the chance to ask them. A lady appeared after working on a client. She said down next to me and typed out a message in Mandarin. She obviously did not speak a word of English or she did not feel comfortable speaking the English language yet. The lady (whose name I found out is Lilian) informed me she still had 30 minutes left with her client before I could get my massage. Apparently she and her partner were both engaged in massaging their clientele. I informed Lilian I would call for an appointment. Lilian seemed happier with this answer. I got the feeling appointments the better way to go than walkins. Jin Foot Spa is no more. According to Google Review, the place is permanently closed. My next review will be the new name of this business if Yelp doesn't make the changes I informed them about. My experience on this new place will be coming soon.

I will honestly say that this was probably the most painful deep tissue massage I've ever had, but I felt amazing after. I felt like a brand new person. So I can only speak for the deep tissue. If you like the super gentle and it is really just somebody touching your body, I wouldn't recommend it. If you have legit knots and muscle tightness, this place will kick your ass and you'll feel like a brand new person after.

Before stopping to get a bite to eat, I told my wife I would pay for the kind of massage she likes. This would be the chair massage that apparently everyone enjoys. It is Saturday and this place has a waiting list. We have one person a head of is, but she is waiting for Fiona. I am not sure who we will get, but time is on our side. The lady in orange with the black boots I like ended up being the person my wife went with. I thought about a massage myself, but not today. The sounds of the massage clocks keep going off and they are loud. Still, you are shown the time you asked for and your time isn't cheated. The woman known to me as Boots seems to be getting the job done. When it is all said and done, I hope to see a big smile on my wife's face. I watch the massage therapists doing their 10 to 30 minute routine. I wonder what is going on in their minds? Well I found out who the masseuse is for my wife. The woman named Boots turned out to be named Maria. I tipped Maria in cash which she seemed to like more than added to the receipt. Next time I am here, I have two people to choose from. Brenda was really nice and friendly and just the initial chat with her gave me really high hopes. Within the first 10 minutes of the massage, I knew I'd be coming back regularly as an athlete. She knows just the right amount of pressure and also where to massage you to get to those nasty knots that's been bugging you. Aside from the massage, I wanted to praise her that she didn't overwhelm me with conversation nor was she so quite that she was hard to converse with.
