We came here for a couples massage and it was okay. I think the massage itself was actually very good and the owner even gifted us a bottle of wine at the end of the session which was very sweet! The reason for the star reduction is honestly the location. The massage parlor is in a dilapidated building that also hosts a drug recovery counselor and is just very rundown. 9/16/19 It a new dawn for a new day and Yu Yu Hwang is in the building. Today a two hour service was preformed on me and it helped with the knots in my back and my sciatic nerve from when I pinched a disk in my back. Painful stuff to those who have experienced it and something I wouldn't wish on anyone. Yu Yu Hwang work her magic on the pain and slowly the pain evaporate...no....vanish. I had scheduled an appointment with Yu Yu Hwang several weeks ago and during that time I had learned Yu Yu's birthday is on 9/18/19. I had found Christmas gifts for my family in Seattle and knew I had an extra necklace for her. Since it is fairly close to her favorite animal which is a cat, I thought this would be the perfect gift. So if your reading this Yu Yu Hwang, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. I will be sure to get another massage here at a later date. Another good massage is down in the history books. Oh, I also noticed the long mirror on the left side of the room is gone. YuYu Hwang is definitely someone I can go to and help me loosen up tight joints that affect my nerves and bloodflow. I always go for the 90-minute deep tissue massage at least once a month, and the tension that my body has after these 90-minute sessions always goes away. Thanks to YuYu, I have been able to avoid lingering migraines, and I operate at 100% efficiency in my day-to-day work in the office and in the gym, where I train as a conditioned runner and utilize strength conditioning. She uses a variety of techniques that I had never experienced before, and they work! Here's the DL. Very good massage in that she will get all the kinks out. She attacks every part of your body with the same rigor. There's no slacking. No lingering touch or pat in her transitions. Its kind of clinical, but it works. She's got amazing strength in her hands and will hop on the table so that she can get at the right place. If you are looking for a great massage, go here. If you are looking for a real spa experience, try elsewhere. The real downside is the facility. She has a room in an office suite. Whoever owns that office/ building hasn't invested in it in years. Here's a visual -- there is wood paneling in the bathroom and the walls in the reception are a color from the 70s. I think the sofas are from that decade too. Really a shame because some modern day paint, new seating and decor would make it look awesome. If I could split the stars, I'd give the massage a 5 and the facility a 2 (the areas I saw were clean). read more

In town for work and a day of travel was causing my bad back to act up. YuYu was able to fit me in on short notice and helped me tremendously. What started out as a desperate, rescue mission turned into a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I wish now that I'd booked a longer session. As an endurance runner and cyclist I don't know what to do unless someone is sticking an elbow into my IT band. YuYu's style is different than the typical deep tissue that I'm used to getting. Pressure is still there when needed, but much more gentle and effective. Muscles are coaxed versus forced into submission. I will definitely keep YuYu in mind next time I'm in town. First, in addressing one of the questions I had while vetting potential Day Spa's; "Doe's this provider offer direct contact massage (hand to skin), or massage while covered (no skin contact)"?? The answer is direct contact. To elaborate, the massage table is set up like a bed with a sheet and lightweight blanket. You undress nude and get under the covers. Once the massage begins only the part of the body being worked on is uncovered while the rest of the body remains covered. This was my first experience being covered up during a session, and I must say it was extremely relaxing! The facility was cozy, clean, and welcoming. It's location is easy to find and it's private lot has ample parking. YuYu herself is very friendly and easy to talk to especially during the massage. The massage room itself is very homey with bear skin rug and all! Along with the melodic music and water feature you really do feel like you're in another more relaxing world! The massage itself was extraordinary! Easily the best I've ever had! There truly is a difference between eastern and western physical therapy! I received a combination of deep tissue, accu-pressure, reflexology, and hot stone rub down. YuYu was very attentive to all my trouble spots and spent extra time working on those areas! I've never even heard of a massage this thorough in that she touched every part of the body; fingers, toes, scalp, cheeks, etc. Nothing was missed, and all performed in an unrushed manner. Extremely horrible experience.Looking a the 5star rating for this place..I went ahead to it try it out.The place looked nothing like a massage center.Low lit and little creepy too.There was only one individual taking care of the place and could hardly figure out who I was talking to given the low lighting.The therapy started with mu neck and shoulders and can't even tell you how odd the hand movements were.I have had massage in the past and I this was no where close to a regular massage.It was brutal!!.The therapist moved towards my legs and suddenly she disappeared.I waited for a moment and looked back only to find that she was texting someone on the phone.I ignored that and she continued with the therapy with just one hand on my leg,which almost felt like a touch and nothing like massage strokes.I waited patiently for 10mins to see where this is going and then looked behind to see what was happening..the therapist was texting with one hand and had the other hand just for the sake of it on my legs.I just lost it now and told the therapist to stop the session immediately.She didn't resist and I stormed out of that place.Absolutely unprofessional.I don't even have any words to express my anguish.I would probably fight to get this place to be closed!!!! read more
