I just discovered this place over the weekend and I can't wait to go back. Finally a place that has the option of almond milk!

This was the strongest, most flavorful iced cappuccino I have ever had. It was very strong but not bitter, and very smooth. I couldn't help going back for more. They roast their own beans, so now I'll be left dreaming of that perfect cup until I can find a similar one near me. read more

A bit pricey but very good coffee! I don't go too often but when i'm in the mood for a nice smell of coffee beans and have some time to spare, I come here! Good customer service , everyone's very friendly. It's located on Greenwich Ave so a lot of the times it'll be a little difficult for parking. Cold brew was unreal. The Belgian waffle was SO tasty - it was sweet enough but not overly sweet. I also added oat milk in my cold brew!

This review is for their coffee only. I had a pour-over Yirgacheffe. The coffee was roasted to about Full City+, and the cup was balanced. I would probably have preferred more acidity (which is what I like personally, and often works well with Ethiopian coffees), but the sweetness was balanced and the roast notes were chocolaty and not over-powering. Little to no bitterness. The barista seemed inexperienced, though, and he used a full ~28g of grounds (!) to make about 8oz of coffee. He also didn't really seem to know what I was asking him about in terms of roast levels and such. That's expected at a place like Starbucks or Peets, but CFCF roasts on-premises, so I'd expect the staff to be able to talk about what they make. Maybe he was new? Regardless, I'll be returning to try their other varietals. read more

Positive - I was able to enjoy an almond milk chai latte which was amazing! Positive - the folks working here were super nice and the atmosphere to sit and relax was great Positive/Negative - I LOVED my caramel macaroon...still dreaming of it...so rich, fluffy and creamy! :) Negative - my small latte and macaroon cost $8!!! This is a solid alternative to the overcrowded Starbucks down the block, although it is starting to fill up on the weekends as well. Prices and quality are both high, service has been good. On one occasion I received the wrong item, but the mistake was corrected, and the price disparity was resolved in my favor without my asking. This place has tons of potential - great space, lots of tables and chairs, nice clean atmosphere. The coffee drinks were nicely made. However... the service! It was sooooo.....sloooooww......... A long line of us waited while each person put in their order (a slow process - the girl working the cash was using an iPad to register the orders, and it seemed like she had to scroll through long lists of options for each variable of each drink... so that was time-consuming). Only 2 baristas making the drinks, so that was another part of the delay. Although I really don't know if they could have added any more staff to the one machine. Also, unfortunately that same girl who was working the cash, was taking the food orders, and she didn't really know what any of the unlabelled items were. Lots of guesswork there. However, the desserts/pastries were tasty, and the drinks were nicely made, so like I say, this place has potential! Just need to get the staff moving a little faster! And maybe set up a better system on the iPad so that the poor girl doesn't have to spend so much of her day scrolling through lists! read more

I am not a caffeine aficionado, however I am a caffeine addict so I'm always on the hunt for a relaxed cafe. I am also a fan of shopping local, whenever possible. So I gave this place a try and it was absolutely worth it. The baristas are polite and friendly. The coffee is Starbucks pricey but strong and they offer a good selection. The ambiance is refined but laid back and my only complaint is that they close at 7:30 on weekdays. Completely understandable, I just wish I could stay longer sometimes! read more

I've been here a few times over the past year but this morning was my last visit. I had to repeat my one-drink order four times and I've noticed this is par for the course here; you say it once to the cashier (or twice, in my case) in order to pay, then a barista will walk over and say "what did you order?" followed by another barista asking the exact same thing. It's quite an odd and inefficient system (and funny to watch!) but not a deal breaker. The deal breaker is getting a $5 iced latte that is lukewarm and tastes like murky coffee-water. No taste of creamy milk or espresso - just an iced coffee that's sat in a hot car all afternoon. Totally gross. I walked out of the cafe and promptly dropped my drink in the trash. I really wanted to like this place given its convenient location and the fact that it's NOT Starbucks but it's such a major letdown. The truth is that I get exactly what I want at Starbucks each and every time (and without hassle) so I'll be going there from now on. read more

Don't get me wrong this is a very neutral review, I had Carmel Latte and it was Okay(not good not bad) the Service was Okay (nothing good nothing bad). The best part of the place was the style. I have been going to this place on weekends for almost a year. Never once have I had a bad experience. I usually get coffee or an espresso drink and I've tried most of the pastries. The best thing I've had there is the yogurt and granola with fresh fruit. Don't know where they get their yogurt but it's delicious. They also get village bagels every morning. The coffee is very good. This is an upscale greenwich coffee place so don't expect a bargain. Also if you order an espresso drink or one of the delicious pour overs expect them to take their time and make it just right. I'll keep going back; rent on greenwich ave isn't cheap so I hope they stick around. read more

Love the ambiance and coffee here. Sometimes it can be a little busy (especially around lunch time), but typically in the early morning and late afternoon there are plenty of nice arm chairs to sit in (or you could grab the seats at a tall table with a view onto Greenwich Avenue). The to-stay coffee is always served in nice glasses and tastes great. They have a large variety of milks and several pastries to choose from. The only drink I do not like is the matcha latte, which has little matcha crumbles left over at the bottom when you finish and is slightly bitter. Had the café iced mocha here recently. Solid, especially for Greenwich! And their lattes are terrific as well. Prices are very reasonable and service is always friendly. Bakery items are pretty good, but not amazing to me. Conveniently located on Greenwich Avenue. I can sometimes get parking pretty close by. I'll admit that I've not found parking at times and not stopped. But I will most certainly return. read more

This place, like Buffalo Wild Wings, is really just okay. It pretends to be a classy, high-end establishment, like everything in this part of Greenwich, and sure, it does have some nice qualities: -Helpful signs describing the drinks -Nice atmosphere - well decorated, comfy chairs, plenty of seating in a variety of arrangements, good music in the background, quality glassware, etc. -Staff is very very nice and accommodating. -Free water dispenser However, I will most likely not be back, because: -The prices, even for Greenwich, are high. -The coffee tastes burnt. -The baked goods are just alright. -The free wifi is very, very spotty. -The clientele is unbearable. I like children, but there were unruly children yelling, playing on iPads, people having obnoxiously loud conversations, etc. There is no way to have a quiet chat or do work here. The best coffee shop in town in my book. CFCF does a wonderful job recruiting fun college-aged baristas who generally seem to love working there. So much of what makes a coffee shop great is the ambience: this is a place where you want to hang out- a nice variety of seating with a few nooks perfect for a quick business meeting. Horrible customer service I was standing at the second register waiting to get my order taken when after 5 minutes I got told the line starts over there (3 people stood behind me) the lady behind me also stated that she should have just taken my order ( I agree) ... there is NO sign stating where the line starts and then was given a very rude attitude when I made my coffee order after her repeating my order several times to her.... and it was a horrible cup of coffee. read more

I am a Los Angeles native and was visiting an old high school classmate that now lives in Greenwich. A friend of discerning coffee taste of my high school pal said that CFCF had the best coffee around. Well, I disagree - this was the best cappuccino I've had on this continent! I can't even think of the last time I had a sip of espresso with steamed milk and was immediately impressed by the flavor and balanced potentness. Maybe in Italy, maybe in France, but I don't ever remember thinking to myself, "Damn, this is good." So, kudos to you CFCF. Come to Los Angeles. read more

I ordered an iced mocha latte and it came out to $5.85 + $0.65 extra for almond milk + tax. It was nothing spectacular (aka Dunkin quality) and it definitely wasn't worth the price. I understand this is Greenwich but seriously this place needs to drop their prices a bit. If I had taken the time to view their prices before entering, I probably would have skipped this place. Love this coffee shop-- a much better alternative than Starbucks to get a real shot of espresso. The cappuccino is great hot or iced. I love that there is ample seating and that it is conveniently located on the avenue. The baked goods are yummy and sandwiches are perfect for lunch. My go-tos are the nutella croissant for breakfast and the proscuitto deluxe for lunch. Overall, you can't go wrong. The only negative is that it's hard to get the stroller in as there is a step up ;-). read more

The first time I went: The customer service was good and the staff was ok, not too friendly. This is a note to the owner of CFCF: your employees are terrific and you are not protecting them by allowing large numbers of people into the cafe at the same time. This morning there were over 27 people in the tiny store around 8:15 and some in line were not wearing masks. I really felt for your employees - you should have someone at the door counting how many people can come in at once and those without masks should not come in. I didn't feel safe and felt like your employees were put in a dangerous environment. You can do better than that. read more

This is a wonderful cafe and much needed in Greenwich. I almost don't want to write this positive review because I don't want the place to become overcrowded. The space is open so you feel like you're not sitting on top of everyone. They have great music playing (not too loud) and the coffee and espresso are excellent! I can drink the coffee black no problem because it's such great quality. I found the guys to be extremely friendly. My only criticism is that they need to wipe down the tables after people leave, the crumbs and stuff. People should obviously clean up after themselves and at least clear their mug. I never understand the people that walk out and say " do we just leave it"... I don't think there is any pressing law one way or the other, but it's common sense, clean up after yourself. We were here during a slow time, so I can't promise that service is slow during a rush... I CAN however promise that if you appreciate a good quality espresso, it doesn't get much better than here. Everywhere I live, we find our favorite espresso - I've only lived in the NY area for a short while, but this just may be our place. read more

Simply the best black coffee known to mankind. I love Starbucks, but there is just something a little better about their beans and roasting that just makes their coffee the preferred choice. To bad it isn't in more locations. Also, great ambiance for afternoon gatherings with plenty of seating. My wife also enjoys the Macha Green Tea Lattes and raves that they are simply the best. read more

I had to drop a star with this. I had high hopes, but after frequenting them for a few months, I made the decision to try their sweets... The belgian waffle, which is prepackaged and clearly not made in-house by them is delicious - if not too sweet for me. But the real reason I dropped a star is what they create within the store. I tried their ginger creme cookie and their lemon coconut treat. The ginger creme cookie I spat out as soon as it touched my tongue. It was dry, yet soft and bendy, (go figure..) had a sharp, unsettling taste that made me wretch, tasted like it was left out for a week in humid air, and the cream tasted like nothing. It didn't soften the overall rancid taste at all. "... Well, ah, ok." I think as I spit out the rest of this supposed "treat". But I had another treat to enjoy. So, a few hours later, after dinner, I try the lemon coconut bar. I bite in, joyfully, trying to shake off my horrible experience hours before. Huge mistake. It was so decadent I could only taste the overwhelming richness of butter and hints of coconut. Where was the lemon? The crust, too, tasted like it was an underdone, buttery crust. Not in a good way. And there was this strange, overpowering taste of... oil. Like, canola oil. I was pretty upset at this point. No lemony tartness, no coconut sweetness. Nada. I mostly finished this dessert, if only because now I realized I spent a good $7 on treats I would never truly enjoy. They left me feeling like throwing up, honestly. It left such a stale taste in my mouth and stomach I swore off eating from them again. Their coffee that day was also off, but it was more forgivable of an offense. I've since stopped going to this joint, as I've been permanently scarred, you could say, by their home baked treats. read more

If I am not dying and running around looking for a mimosa or straight whiskey on Greenwich Ave, this coffee house is where I'll go! Their coffee is exceptional. Even with a Starbucks down the street, I will easily turn that down for this! Great selection of treats and breakfast as well as all kinds of fancy coffee. I am a black coffee no cream no sugar type of guy. Yes basic but I like it. Their coffee is so dark and strong it makes Starbucks dark roast taste like a wine cooler. Awesome staff and great place to just relax in the morning or take a break after Saks Fifth Ave across the street or Miller Motorcar rips your wallet apart. read more

I saw there was a new place at the top of the Avenue and was drawn by the clean look of the place and, of course the aroma. I spent a few minutes chatting with Joseph and he offered me a taste of one of their brews. Excellent! Great balance, great taste. I ended up walking out with a half pound for home. Some time, when I have the time, I will sit and enjoy one of their fine pastries. They looked delicious. If you like locally owned businesses doing small batch, high quality work CFCF Roastery will become a favorite. read more

The only things I don't like about this shop are the service and the fact that they're always so busy. I really like the hot chocolate here and their pastries, but I recently got a caprese sandwich that was excellent, but it came almost 25 minutes after I ordered it because they had forgotten my order or had left my food sitting out. read more
