Uni- cone
Ronnie A.

One of the most under rated restaurants in LA. Everything we ate was spectacular and fresh. The owner was incredibly kind. Highlights: Fresh Scallops in shell with uni (sea urchin) The Toro tostada: incredible sauce with unbelievably melt in your mouth fish. We had 3 of these Uni- cone: one of the most unique ways to eat sea urchin. Very California

Great, fresh ceviche and other raw fish dishes. My husband and I decided to stop in for an early dinner on a Friday. We came around 6 and it wasn't too crowded but the server shared that later in the night was booked. There's only a few tables and bar seating inside. Everything tasted fresh and paired so nicely. Delicious dinner!

make a reservation, you will not be disappointed. An unassuming little spot with a bar top and a few tables. You are guaranteed for a treat. Fresh seafood pairs with sharp citrus and bold flavors, often served alongside the tastiest corn tostadas you'll ever try. Gluten sensitive mods on some dishes can be made. Also try the peanut butter balls with habanero sauce to cap it off ‍

Food was good & ambience was nice specially the music, my favorites were the scallops, sea bass crudo and kampachi crudo.

Food had nice complexity with the sauces. Enjoyed that each dish was distinct in flavor. The restaurant is small but no one was there when I arrived so the single server was adequate. Solid place to get good ceviche.

Amazing!! The food is always delicious. The freshness, flavor combinations and taste is just music to my palate. Fantástico!! La comida 10/10 La frescura y la combinación de lo sabores son increíbles. No olviden pedir chiltepin. Best chef in town!

My friends and I came to Ceviche project as it's been on my to try list. The place is cute and intimate. The food was excellent, we got the green agua chile, snapper ceviche, toro salmon , and sea bass. It was served with home made tostada. I was really impressed with the flavor and the quality of fish. I was expecting everything to be sour from the citrus typically used in ceviche but they did a beautiful job in creating subtle and delicious flavors. The food looked great as well! I would definitely comeback and recommend this place. The service was great. Gratuity is already included in your bill.

If you've tried Holbox, you might get a similar vibe but consider the difference in quantity. Service is friendly and the shop is definitely cute and small enough to make small talk with the waiter and cook. As for food, I'd say it's great but not amazing compared to its price. Aesthetically pleasing and unique combinations are the main draw for me, but I can't help but to think how much better I can get from Holbox with the same/lower price point! I don't regret the scallops with uni, oysters, yellowtail, aguachile, and kanpachi.. it's just that I wouldn't necessarily be thrilled to be back. I do love that they have their own parking lot.

Back again to say Ceviche Project in Silverlake is STILL a true hidden gem that shines bright in the East side food scene. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm & intimate vibe that feels both chic and welcoming. A taste of Miami in La! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, and they make you feel like you're part of their family. But the real star of the show? The ceviche. Each dish is a masterpiece, bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors that transport you straight to the coast. Whether you're savoring their classic ceviche or diving into one of their more inventive takes, every bite is a perfect balance of tangy, spicy, and sweet. The fish is melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and the ingredients are top-notch, highlighting the best of local and seasonal produce. Don't miss out on their wines either--they're as carefully crafted as the food, with unique flavors that pair beautifully with the dishes.

This was my second time here. It was my birthday and my cousin was treating me. I chose this place due to my great experience the first time (refer to my previous review). I am very sad to say , I was disappointed with lack of flavor. We ordered almost the same stuff as we ordered last time. Except, it was being made by the owner this time. All the items were lacking salt. The flavors were not there at all. The owner was not friendly either . He was dry, and kind of down in mood, minding his own business. Last time's experience was something else. Both food and service were mediocre this time. It was more like ok hurry up , eat and GTHO kind of a feeling. I'm sorry but this didn't do justice for me at all, and I don't think I'll go back, unless the old staff - Manny and Sam are back again.

Checked out The Ceviche Project, and honestly, it didn't live up to the hype. It's a one-man operation, so the service is pretty slow. The drinks and food seemed premade, and nothing really stood out, especially considering the price. I had the seafood dish with pomegranate seeds, and the seeds didn't really work for me--biting into them felt awkward and didn't mesh well with the rest of the dish. Overall, it wasn't anything special, and I wouldn't be coming back.

This little gem is hidden in Silver Lake and lives up to the hype. Everything is so fresh and once they are out, they are out! While it's on a busy street, they have a private parking lot for these businesses, which is nice. It has a small, intimate setting. The tostada can be for one person or easily split into two to share. Bring some friends so you can try several of their dishes. Everything was delicious! My favorite was the scallop with uni- it was so sweet and paired so well with the uni. They have a housemade habanero oil that provides the perfect kick to their oysters. Because it's a small intimidate setting, the service is fairly fast! We paired our food with their yuzu sake cocktail- and that was perfection! I loved all the food and can't wait to come again to try something new on their menu!

Do you accommodate modifications for allergies? I am allergic to alliums and would need onions or anything in that family left out. I am dying to try the octopus and shrimp tostada and the kanpachi one too! Thanks!

Politely decline substitutions.

Are Tostada Tuesday's still in effect?

Hi, there. Yes! 4-8:30PM. Unfortunately, today we are going to have to close due to circunstances out of our control. Sorry. See you next Tuesday.

Hi what is your corkage?

Hi, 20 per bottle.

Do you do an oyster happy hour?

Yes. 4-6PM wed-friday.

Do you take reservations? My wife and I drove an hour yesterday and couldn't get a seat. We ended up across the way at Corazon but would have loved to try your dishes.

The food is excellent, having tried the schnitzel, kielbasa, steak frites and pierogis. If you have room in the end, the bread pudding is fantastic. The portions are big and filling and we tend to end up with leftovers. Drinks menu is big, with a variety of creative cocktails and wines. Vibes are different depending on where you sit. Outdoor patio seating is great, and reminds of eating outdoors in a European cafe. Indoor seating is a little cramped if you're at one of the tables, which also sort of mimics European cafes. My one small knock on this restaurant is the service has been inconsistent. Couple times our waiter was great, but a couple times it was hard to flag them down, they didn't space out the dishes very well as the appetizers and entrees all came out the same time, or they forgot to bring water when we asked for it. Small things to complain about overall though.

Plenty of outdoor seating, but they only have a lot four tables and bar seating inside. Had the hash brown cake and the bread and butter and jam to start. The baguette was the average baguette. But the gym was pretty tasty. The hash brown cake is exactly what it sounds like. The hash brown deep-fried into a thick little cake but absolutely tasted amazing. Crispy tasty delicious. I had the breakfast Royale, which is two eggs, bacon, and one pancake. Can't really do wrong with this pancake was light fluffy, and moist. My daughter had the avocado toast with salmon and absolutely loved it. They were busy, but still made sure that we were treated right and service in bartender. We're very attentive.

I know that sounds a little dramatic, but it just feels like a piece of... not LA, in LA. The vibe in there is how I wish so many places were. It's also extremely dimly lit, which I love so much. I can't stand overly bright bars, and this place is at the PERFECT level of that in my opinion. Also the fact that they are keeping bluegrass alive in Los Angeles is incredible. I believe it's every Tuesday night? Check their Instagram to confirm (which by the way they are very active on for their event nights and stuff) which is awesome.
