It was delicious! A little note to show a appreciation
    Melinda B.

I was craving oysters for dinner and I visited this place for the first time. I got there 5 minutes before they closed the kitchen! I ordered a dozen oysters and a hamachi aguachile. The oysters were delicious and they were shucked well (no pieces of shell in them) and were fresh. The hamachi aguachile was very tasty and also very fresh. The fish had no trace of fishy flavor. The avocado cream was smooth and creamy and the chile with oil was fresh, sharp and had a little kick, more than I expected so if you really do like spicy this is a very decent kick without being over the top. Atmosphere where I dined, upstairs, is "cozy." What I mean is it is a little small so if you go there is a chance there's no where to sit. I got lucky; as I arrived a patron left, making a space for me. I got lucky with a place on the patio, which was perfect because it was such a nice night. I would return, certainly.

Sone of the freshest oysters in the area. We ordered the dozen which included east coast and I forget the other region- Canada? I believe not sure but it is listed on the menu. Dirty martini was exceptional. Intimate dining, perfect for date nights or small groups. We didn't have reservations, we were a walk in on a Friday sometime around 4- we were seated right away. Our waiter was extremely we it nice and very welcoming. I enjoyed my dine in experience. Parking is extremely tough to find; I don't believe they have a lot reserved for customers.

Had a fantastic night here. The food was a 10/10. We got two rounds of the broiled oysters. They were insaneeeee. Our waiter was hilarious as well. Raw Oysters were so fresh & clean, maybe some of the best i've ever had.

Stopped by for a nice cocktail and dinner. Their leek special was excellent. Came with a nice burrata toast and was luscious and flavorful. The beet salad was also quite memorable and the perfect balance of earthy and creamy. The mussels and fries was quite good, too. Very simple wine sauce but the mussels' quality carried the dish which was an excellent and welcome surprise. The crabcakes were fine, nothing special. Cocktails were inconsistent. The martini was strong and bold. The absinthe drink mediocre and definitely needed more absinthe. Service was fine and attentive. Vibe's elegantly casual.

Ok so I had a wonderful time and the food was all excellent. The service was great and I was excited to bring my husband back since I came with a friend. But cut to two days later and I noticed they overcharged me by 25 dollars and I had to contact American Express. Felt a little scammy. My friend left the tip on her card since she ordered oysters and I didn't eat them so SHE paid 25 dollars tip and I put a line thru the tip line. (Our bill was 126). So they charged us both 25 for a 50 dollar tip! I'm glad I looked. And that unfortunately soured my experience on this place.

Fresh oysters, delicious cocktails and great service! Love the relaxed atmosphere as well. Ordered the ribeye special, but unfortunately didn't taste that great! The meat was kinda chewy.

A nice vibey spot with great service! We arrived around 815pm on a Tuesday night. There isn't dedicated parking but plenty of street parking available. It was pretty full but we were still seated right away. This place is walk in only with no reservations ! We went with half dozen oysters, Fish & Chips, and Broccolini which was plenty of food for two. The oysters were 8/10 ! The Broccolini came topped with a chili oil and tahini yogurt which was very very good. The Fish & Chips were just okay. I really liked the seasoned fries but the actual fish was just 6.5 or 7 out of 10. Something about the batter threw us off. For cocktails we ordered Dirty Martini, French 75 and a Mai Tai. Nothing special about any of the drinks but they were good ! Our bill before tip came out around $120. A little pricey but I would definitely recommend this place if you're in Silverlake and want good ambiance, good food and good drinks.

Good. Not great. Menu has great options although the food was a bit bland. Parking may be difficult. Service was good. Small place so gets pour pretty quickly.

Ate here tonight with two guests. I have not been here in many years. Parking on streets still bad. No Valet now. Was seated quickly. They no longer give you complimentary Hush Puppies. The oyster selection is now one from the East coast and one from the West coast. I miss the variety they used to have. We ordered a dozen oysters, Fish and chips, Bronzino, Crab cake, Clam chowder, and asparagus. Only the Fish and chips & Bronzino stood out as being tasty. The fries were not very crispy. The Clam Chowder was not that creamy or tasty. The crab cake was not of the highest quality; no lump crab meat. The place has changed a lot. Staff were pleasant, but not as friendly as before. WHEN I TELL YAAALLLLLLL!!! Andrew is COOKING!!! Like metaphorically and literally. wow wow wow. We were blown away! He went above and beyond for our experience. We tried the lobster roll and another dish. They didn't have the other dish we ordered, so he let us pick another dish on the house. He also came out and let us try a new dish he will be introducing to the menu as the new chef here. This was our first time and between the food and the service, hands down 5 stars. This is one of THE best experiences i've had at a restaurant here in LA, and i'm a foodie so that's a high compliment!! Honorable mention to Alex and the other girl (i'm so sorry k didn't catch her name!!), they were so kind and welcoming. STRONG recommendation!!

Ive been here probably a dozen or so times & this one of my favorite places to get a light bite & drinks - that being said there is one bartender who is so insanely rude. Every time I walk in and see she's working I have to brace myself. I went tonight and had to tell my partner "don't worry that bartender is always mean" and it took saying it out loud for me to realize that's not normal or acceptable. Other than that, the oysters are always extremely fresh & the lobster roll is delicious! Great vibe too if you don't let the one rude bartender ruin your night lol

Came on a Saturday right at 5:00 when they open. There were probably 5 parties waiting at that time as well. As soon as 5:00 hit, they began seating everyone as quickly as possible. We were having dinner and were given a choice of a table or the bar top. We took the bar. There is also a bar upstairs, which we did not see. They were directing people up there who maybe just wanted an appetizer and/or drinks. Upon sitting, we were greeted immediately by a super friendly and welcoming man. Our bill said his name was Christopher S., but we heard people who seemed to be regulars call him Stu. We were so glad we sat there, as he was awesome. He gave great recommendations and helped us narrow down our dishes because so many things looked delicious. He suggested a dirty martini to start if we were thinking about oysters, and I happily followed that suggestion. We started with oysters. We had 3 east coast and 3 west coast. All tasted very fresh and came out within a few minutes of ordering. We got a mixed greens salad as well, which seemed really simple, yet the dressing was subtle but flavorful. Next came the cast iron cornbread, which does take about 20 minutes. It was so good that even though we didn't want to fill up on bread, we couldn't stop eating it. The sweet herb butter was to die for. Last we went with the banana leaf bass. The fish was flaky and moist, and all the other ingredients gave it a lot of dimension and texture. Delicious! Our server had suggested one of their bolder white wines to go with it, and it was another solid choice. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner. The service and food were both outstanding. If we lived in LA, it would definitely be a regular stop. It was super busy when we left, so do come ready to wait. Even if we had to wait awhile, I would have been just as happy we decided to have dinner there.

Sorry, I don't get the hype. I've had this place bookmarked for years due to the oyster praise. Finally, on a day off, I had the chance to come by for happy hour. Let me say, first of all, that the happy hour offerings of today are pretty sub-par. The deal is $1-$2 off on select appies - and only on the cramped second floor bar area. Oysters aren't discounted and neither are drinks. The oysters, themselves, were hit or miss. I think I counted 3 or 4 different kinds in the dozen. The garnishes were okay. The overall quality of the oysters just wasn't there, and literally left an odd taste in my mouth. The bar upstairs is not large, and the chairs are tiny. I personally don't like such compact spaces, so this is not the environment for me. As for the cocktails, we sent back a couple and still didn't like what we had. The flavors were either too much or not enough; the drinks we got were either too sweet to taste anything or else too bitter to actually want to sip on. The food was also not the best. The clam chowder was quite salty and had a different consistency than expected. The caviar service was a handful of chips next to a tiny helping of crème and a smaller helping of caviar! The shrimp cocktail featured shrimps that had been soaked in some type of sauce, as opposed to being fresh for dipping in a cocktail sauce. My group and I were frankly confused as to how we had such an off experience, after reading so much praise from (albeit) years and years ago. Parking was easy enough to find on the street, but it'll be challenging during busier times.

    1. What's the corking fee? 2. Does one need a reservation for the upstairs// bar area?

The weekend happy hour is listed from 3-7, but the restaurant hours say it is closed from 3-5. What time is the weekend happy hour?

The restaurant is downstairs and doesn't open before 5, but they have an upstairs bar that opens early for happy hour (food and drinks). Don't get in too late it gets packed! Super nice place.

It can be a bit hard to find street parking nearby because of neighborhood rules, but we managed to find a spot after circling a bit. The restaurant is very small, but it has both indoor and outdoor seating. I think the size of it adds to the charm. It also has a nautical theme inside and a New England feel about the place. The seating options inside are either at the bar, or tiny high-top tables. For appetizers, we shared the peel and eat prawns, half a dozen oysters and the sicilian crudo. Everything was good, but the servings were smaller than I expected. I also think that the peel and eat prawns would have been pretty mediocre without the special sauce. For mains, my husband got the lobster roll, while I had the mussels. His lobster roll was good, but in my experience it's hard to go wrong with buttered lobster on bread served with fries.
