    Scallops on the Halfshell

Came here with my girlfriend for our 2nd anniversary and was absolutely blown away. From the start the intimate feeling and atmosphere of the restaurant set the mood. The owner Octavio was great from the start and I was beyond impressed with his service while preparing the food at the same time and juggling multiple guests. We got a couple orders of Scallops on the half shell with the sea urchin added on top (i forgot the name of it on the menu), a half dozen oysters, the shrimp aguachile (green option), and then we were gonna get the striped sea bass crudo, but he was out out of the striped sea bass which he subbed for tuna after checking if it was ok with us. Overall this was some of the best, if not the best seafood I have ever had in my life. He also gave us a couple of peanut butter balls for our anniversary which unfortunately I could not have since they contained cashew milk which i appreciated him letting me know (he checked for any allergies before we ordered which i find rare and much appreciated as someone with tree nut allergies), but my girlfriend loved them. Overall top tier experience, I look forward to coming back and trying more in the future and will be recommending to my friends.

One of the most under rated restaurants in LA. Everything we ate was spectacular and fresh. The owner was incredibly kind. Highlights: Fresh Scallops in shell with uni (sea urchin) The Toro tostada: incredible sauce with unbelievably melt in your mouth fish. We had 3 of these Uni- cone: one of the most unique ways to eat sea urchin. Very California

Great, fresh ceviche and other raw fish dishes. My husband and I decided to stop in for an early dinner on a Friday. We came around 6 and it wasn't too crowded but the server shared that later in the night was booked. There's only a few tables and bar seating inside. Everything tasted fresh and paired so nicely. Delicious dinner!

Had an exquisite dining experience at this neighborhood gem. Octavio was super knowledgeable, kind, and attentive, and it is clear he is passionate about bringing the highest quality fish with beautiful presentation to LA. Everything we tried was phenomenal, the music was great and not too loud, each ingredient was intentional, and the wine paired well. I had been hearing rave reviews and finally had a chance to come in with a friend and we both wholeheartedly recommend ceviche project.

Food was good & ambience was nice specially the music, my favorites were the scallops, sea bass crudo and kampachi crudo.

Food had nice complexity with the sauces. Enjoyed that each dish was distinct in flavor. The restaurant is small but no one was there when I arrived so the single server was adequate. Solid place to get good ceviche.

If you've tried Holbox, you might get a similar vibe but consider the difference in quantity. Service is friendly and the shop is definitely cute and small enough to make small talk with the waiter and cook. As for food, I'd say it's great but not amazing compared to its price. Aesthetically pleasing and unique combinations are the main draw for me, but I can't help but to think how much better I can get from Holbox with the same/lower price point! I don't regret the scallops with uni, oysters, yellowtail, aguachile, and kanpachi.. it's just that I wouldn't necessarily be thrilled to be back. I do love that they have their own parking lot.

My friends and I came to Ceviche project as it's been on my to try list. The place is cute and intimate. The food was excellent, we got the green agua chile, snapper ceviche, toro salmon , and sea bass. It was served with home made tostada. I was really impressed with the flavor and the quality of fish. I was expecting everything to be sour from the citrus typically used in ceviche but they did a beautiful job in creating subtle and delicious flavors. The food looked great as well! I would definitely comeback and recommend this place. The service was great. Gratuity is already included in your bill.

make a reservation, you will not be disappointed. An unassuming little spot with a bar top and a few tables. You are guaranteed for a treat. Fresh seafood pairs with sharp citrus and bold flavors, often served alongside the tastiest corn tostadas you'll ever try. Gluten sensitive mods on some dishes can be made. Also try the peanut butter balls with habanero sauce to cap it off ‍

Back again to say Ceviche Project in Silverlake is STILL a true hidden gem that shines bright in the East side food scene. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm & intimate vibe that feels both chic and welcoming. A taste of Miami in La! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, and they make you feel like you're part of their family. But the real star of the show? The ceviche. Each dish is a masterpiece, bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors that transport you straight to the coast. Whether you're savoring their classic ceviche or diving into one of their more inventive takes, every bite is a perfect balance of tangy, spicy, and sweet. The fish is melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and the ingredients are top-notch, highlighting the best of local and seasonal produce. Don't miss out on their wines either--they're as carefully crafted as the food, with unique flavors that pair beautifully with the dishes.

Do you accommodate modifications for allergies? I am allergic to alliums and would need onions or anything in that family left out. I am dying to try the octopus and shrimp tostada and the kanpachi one too! Thanks!

    Politely decline substitutions.

Are Tostada Tuesday's still in effect?

Hi, there. Yes! 4-8:30PM. Unfortunately, today we are going to have to close due to circunstances out of our control. Sorry. See you next Tuesday.

    Hi what is your corkage?

    Hi, 20 per bottle.

Do you do an oyster happy hour?

    Yes. 4-6PM wed-friday.

Do you take reservations? My wife and I drove an hour yesterday and couldn't get a seat. We ended up across the way at Corazon but would have loved to try your dishes.

Considering traffic in LA. You could simply make a don't be late policy and move on down the list if people are late.…

    What days/hours are happy hour?

    Tuesday-Friday 5-6PM

What is the parking situation like?

There is a parking lot in the back and there is plenty of street parking with meters. Thanks for reaching out.

The hostess asked if we would like to have some drinks on the sidewalk while we waited, which was great! I had a nice glass of orange wine and my gf had a Chardonnay, both delicious. The waitress that took care of us once we were seated was wonderful - I wish I had gotten her name! She explained the menu to us well and was generous with her drink pours. I dried their house wine once we were dining and it was also delicious. Now for the food! We started off the meal with one oyster each and the Sicilian crudo. It has been YEARS since I tried oysters and I remember not liking them, but I wanted to give it another shot. To my surprise, my oyster was fresh, delicious, and not fishy AT ALL. The crudo was incredible - the fish was fresh and the flavor combo of olive oil and capers was divine. For our main, we split the fried fish sandwich with fries. The fries were great, and the sandwich was crisp, not too oily, and paired perfectly with the toppings. For dessert, we had their key lime pie. Also something I don't usually enjoy, but it was fantastic as well. All in all we had a wonderful experience and look forward to returning and trying the other restaurants in the family!

We sat at the high top tables along the side of the wall across from the bar. Really cool and casual interior, doesn't feel pretentious whatsoever. Warm and friendly staff. I was worried when looking at their menu online that they only had wine since I was craving a cocktail, but alas they do have cocktails! They have martinis or margaritas. I went with a martini and they ask how you like it so I got mine with gin, an olive and a twist. It was made perfectly and it was so good! We ordered 8 oysters from the specials menu (they have it written inside on chalkboard), the plate of frites, smoked trout dip, and a tuna aguachile dish they had on their specials menu. It was a small table but we got everything to fit because they smartly have a holder to lift the tray above the table which helps. Everything looked beautiful when it came out! The oysters were great, salty but not overly briney. The smoked trout dip with the roe on top was delicious, the buttery ritz crackers pair with it so nicely. I would get that again for sure. The aguachile was good as well, it had quite the kick to it too. And honestly fries are fries, yes, but these fries were maybe some of the best ones I've ever had. Perfectly fried to a crisp and salty. I'll dream of those fries. And such a perfect portion of them for sharing with a friend. I loved our time here!

Cousins Francisco Aguilar and Alexis Chacon relocated from Oaxaca to open this mobile mariscos operation. But Simon's seafood-forward menu is innovative and sophisticated, seemingly more at home in a sit-downery than a mobile food cart. Unsurprisingly, Simon has been lauded by news outlets and food critics abound. I've been dying to try Simon, but the limited and often unpredictable hours have kept me from it for months. My partner and I visited for a late weekend lunch and ordered immediately. We opted for 2 tacos (the Soft Shelled Crab and the Baja-style Fish) and a Large Aguachile Negro, and our made-to-order meal was prepared within a few minutes. Between the tacos, the crab was a clear winner. The crispy, whole crab was well-complemented by the fresh pineapple salsa and the rich chipotle crema. In stark contrast, the Baja-style fried fish was one-dimensional in flavor and ran on the soggy side, owing to the watery pickled cabbage slaw. But not even the crab taco could compete with the stellar aguachile. We couldn't get enough of the marinade's rich blend of acidity and smokiness, which overshadowed even the generous helping of fresh shrimp. Simon's complimentary salsa lineup also exceeded expectations. We most enjoyed the earthy salsa macha and the smooth, creamy salsa verde, but the tangy salsa Simon -- the truck's take on taco sauce -- was no slouch, either. Our bill totaled just over $30, and the meal felt reasonably priced and appropriately filling. While the tacos didn't knock my socks off, the aguachile certainly did -- I can't wait to return to try some of Simon's other varieties.
