    Cajun lobster pasta, bife mocambique.

I've been coming here for years. This is one of my favorite black owned restaurants in Boston. I'm suggesting the cajun lobster (or shrimp) pasta. Bife Mocambique. The mango caipirinha is my favorite drink (so flavorful) . I was happy to see Bernedita, our server- she is amazing! As I've said before - don't come here hungry. There is a wait. The food is well worth the wait. Eat your bread, sip your drink, listen to the tunes and wait. You will leave rubbing your belly.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at in Boston. It's one of the few places around here ( that I know of) , where they have live music. Here they will bring out clarinets, violins, guitars, drums. Someone is usually singing, folk music in Cape Verdean Creole. This is a feel good place and the food is bomb. The service is great (but the food takes some time so I recommend you be patient- you'll be happy in the end ). I suggest that you try anything on the menu- everything is absolutely delicious from the chicken to the steak to the seafood. One of my favorite cocktails is a Caipirinha. They have guava, mango, Wildberry and passionfruit. I love the mango. The Africa Nossa is also very delicious. It's Ciroc French vanilla, vodka, Godiva, chocolate Bailey's, and a splash of Kahlúa. If you come here, you will definitely have a good time .

Came here after finding out that there was a decent sized Cabo Verde population in Dorchester. My buddy and started out with perfectly made polvo grelhado (octopus) and mandioca frita (fried yucca). I had the cabritada (goat) and my friend had the frango churrasco (chicken). Both were excellent. The traditional caipirinhas were on point and made with grogue from Cabo Verde. The service was very friendly and terrific. They've got excellent music playing as well.

Full STOP!!! This place is amazing. I am in Boston on business and wanted to be far away from the business of downtown so, I hopped in an Uber and made my way to this restaurant and brought a friend too. Ok, first and foremost the drinks are deliciously dangerous.......you can't taste the alcohol, but they are so well balanced. Oh and let me mention the bread provided, it's really good, also dangerous. I decided to order the deep fried tuna, ok great choice My only critique is it is served with fried sweet potatoes, but the sweet potatoes aren't crispy or crunchy. My friend ordered the stewed goat with yucca and she really enjoyed it. Kevin our waiter was attentive, informative and engaging. I couldn't ask for a better dining experience. Long story short, get here! You will not be disappointed, I promise.

Restaurante Cesaria peeked my interest because they offer "Traditional Cape Verdean cuisine cooked up in a colorful, casual setting with occasional live music." (http://www.restaurantcesaria.com/) Street parking was sparse, but we fortunately noticed a public parking lot a short walk away. Cesaria was surprisingly roomy inside, and white table clothes dressed the tables. Walls were painted a cheerful yellow and chandeliers, glass bottles, Christmas decoractions and mirror balls hung from the ceiling. A small buffet is set in a corner consisting of salad, fruits, and five hot buffet stations (some single and several divided), all off menu for the most part, with the exception of the katchupa Two of us opted to go with the buffet for $12.47 ($13.34 with tax) on a Saturday. If one has any dining restrictions, however, it is best to order off the menu. Not sure what happened, but it took nearly 50 minutes for our a la carte orders to arrive (though yes, we were warned it would take 20 min for the chicken dish to be cooked). Fortunately, my DCs were happy with their meals, both the veggie garden (though we noticed that the listed spinach fettucine had mysteriously been converted into regular joe ziti) and the frango assado. From the buffet line up that day, the ribs were my favorite. And I found the a la carte fries much crisper than those from the buffet. I'd be up for another meal at their buffet, but am also interested in ordering the Cabritada $12 (stewed goat) or a number of their seafood dishes if I can manage to find a non-spicy version.

Cesarias in Dorchester is ny favorite Cape Verdean restaurant in Boston. Whenever I go j enjoy my meal. Yes, I know the wait time is no joke but theh never disappoint with their food. The flavors are out of this world. The atmosphere is also great because you really bask in the Cape Verdeam culture. The prices are affordable and you do get your money's worth of food. If you have not been you should and must check it out. Food: 5 Customer service: 5

Best food from Cabo Verde and the mixed drinks are great. Check out the Sunday brunch and the live music was great. Relaxing time.

After an easy 5hr bus ride from Albany (ride included 1 stop), I thought I'd be wiped- but…read morehonestly, when my daughter picked me up from South Station in Boston, it gave me a second wind. She'd mapped out a perfect little afternoon and evening, starting with an indoor market that was full of local art and vintage charm. By the time we wrapped up there, we were hungry. With so many restaurant options around, we chanced it and landed here. The moment you step inside, you're hit with that scent of garlic and seafood. My kid and I gave each the 'look' that said: this is it! Casa Portugal is inviting and decorated in soft blues+whites giving a coastal feel and the service equally matched the energy perfectly: attentive and kind. Our plump and juicy shrimp in tomato sauce starter was rich and full of garlic. It was the kind of appetizer where you find yourself wanting extra bread just to sip up that garlicky sauce. For our main plates, my kid picked the grilled octopus, and I went with the sea bream. The octopus was "like butta," and had that perfect char on the outside but silky inside. My sea bream was nice and I particularly liked that they got rid of the head and tail for me. Both our man plates by the way- had a nice amount of potatoes and steamed vegetables. And here's another part that really stood out- pricing. For the quality and freshness of the seafood, everything felt reasonable. All in all, come to Casa P. for a good meal. From the moment you walk in and smell that garlic in the air to that last bite of seafood, it really delivers on every level.

We started off with a pitcher of sangria, as did many other couples around us. The sangria was delicious, one of the better ones I've had. Fruitful and sweet, very refreshing. They bring bread to your table to start, it was very good especially with some butter and olive oil on top. I do wish it were toasted or warmed but it was still fresh. We also ordered the appetizer, Chouriço Assado no Fogareiro (Grilled Portuguese Sausage). This came to us straight off the flame and was nice and hearty. I ordered off of the specials menu, Bacalhau com natas (Cod with Portuguese cream). It was very yummy, fresh fish and a light cream. It came with salad but I asked for rice. Instead of substituting the waitress gave me both and charged an extra $5...oh well. Salad was good and rice too. My boyfriend got the Filetes de Peixe (Fried fish filet with salad, rice & potatoes). He enjoyed his too! Those potatoes were yummy. We chose fish and most of the tables around us did too. We skipped on dessert although all looked great. This place was quite charming inside and definitely is an awesome place to enjoy dinner. It was busy so we were lucky to snag a table as it's not big inside. We did feel as this cooking was very homemade and although super tasty and lovely inside, I wouldn't consider it fine dining. I would revisit!
