Dustin Thibodeaux came to look at my tree issue. I agreed to go with CTC because they had done a great job for me two years ago. I paid for 1/2 of my cost and was told they would do the job shortly. 40 plus days rolled by and no call from anyone! I sent Dustin a text informing him that I was canceling the job. He immediately sent me a text saying a crew would be at my house the next day!!! Nope, not at my house. I asked to be reimbursed and he said the only way that would happen would be to contact the office. I have called 3 times and NO ONE WILL HELP ME!! I worked with Craig Ray, we walked my property and I pointed out how some of the trees are actually on my neighbors property but they were hanging over my roof. I assumed the price to cut back the neighbors trees was included. The work team came and left but didn't cut back the neighbors tree. We hired this company to assess the risk of a tree that split after a hailstorm. The certified arborist was polite and professional. He assessed the tree in question and the rest of the property for free. We ended up removing the damaged tree and getting cleanup done on a few others. The team that did the work were quick, professional and thorough. While clearing branches from the storm in a second tree, they identified a cracked limb that was at risk of breaking in the future. They let me know before taking in action, let me see the damage and then make the decision myself (rather than just cutting it down). I appreciated that a lot. Taking care of my trees is important to me. They're an investment that sometimes need attention. This is the second year that I've used this company and while they maybe more expensive than some fly by night companies, they do a thorough and professional job. They take care of cleaning up afterwards and work quickly. I contacted their arborist, Dustin, who came out and gave an immediate quote with no up sales pitch. Once on the schedule, one of the crews came out and made clean cuts, trimming out numerous dead limbs, painting all of the cuts and fed the trees before completing the job. TLDR: They stole $870 and didn't even finish the job, give you the run around for solutions and resolutions. Will not honor their own contracts or receipts that THEY send you. They keep your bank information and slap your account with charges without contacting you. Bryan Koepke is not a trustworthy person, he will lie and say that he has no authority and "doesn't handle financials" but he's the General Manager. He told the office workers not to issue any refunds without his approval, so the office is saying their hands are tied in the matter. __ Got a quote in August for trimming two trees and removing two stumps (Approx $1450). I gave them 50% upfront via check (they only take cash or checks); and got a receipt from them saying that I paid for half and the last half is due at the time of completion, they came in a couple weeks to trim the trees. The workers told my roommate that a second crew would come out for the trunk removal, and that they will take the rest of the payment after the trunks have been removed. Waited a week or so, and since no one came, I called them asking when we should expect them. The person on the line said that someone would reach out to me about when (no one did). Figured we were at least on the schedule, maybe something fell through the cracks, things happen. Couple days later, no one showed up to finish the job but a charge for $870 was on my bank account. No one called me about it, and when I called them (10/2) they said they didn't know work wasn't finished (even though I told them on the previous call). They did not mention the fact they charged me the wrong amount without notice or any notification. They said that they don't keep routing and account information from checks given to them, but clearly they do since this wasn't a mistake charge meant for some other person. Bryan called me asking what work wasn't done, but he said he "doesn't handle financials" when I asked him about the charges. Said a crew would be out first thing tomorrow morning to finish the job. Called the office once again and they said that their "financial girl" is out on lunch but assured me that she would refund the charges and would call me once she returned in an hour. No one called me. Called them again and was told that Bryan told them not to approve any refunds unless it's gone through him, because he's the general manager. Even though we both have the approved estimate and receipt with the correct balance due. The office told me that someone who was in contact with Bryan told them that Bryan would call me today, he did not. Next day (10/3) no calls, no show. Office was not helpful, been put on hold multiple times, said that Bryan will call "shortly". After a hour and half waiting this morning, finally got Bryan on the phone. Claims that it was an "honest mistake" that they didn't know the work wasn't done and there was some separate work order with an amount much higher than what was on the receipt. Be very careful if you consider working with these people, they don't do honest business. If I could give negative starts I would. They crew member they sent out didn't even trust their company, and was extremely frustrated since they company didn't even provide the proper equipment for the job. read more

But watch out for their financial activities - they required me to give them my bank account debiting access - for me, all want well, until later I received an email notice "Treesurance membership autorenews Nov 18th! If you do not opt out, your account on file will be charged $99 on November 18, 2024." The email had a button to [Cancel Membership] but it was inactive. I never agreed to this 'membership', and a phone call to the Tyler number was never answered; a phonecall to the Austin number rang many times and finally allowed a voicemail. I have received no response. Bottom Line: Buyer Beware. The tree service is great; their company's financial procedures are questionable, at best. read more

Shiftless bandits. Asked for trimming along neighbors fence line of 2 trees and cut down crepe myrtles below power lines. Paid half up front (non-refundable deposit should have been the first red flag). Supposedly scheduled 4th week of March. Showed up in April - no call, no notification they are coming. Barely did any noticeable work before they rang the doorbell and asked for the rest of their money. Only cut back 1 of 2 trees from their "quote". Did no work on the crepe myrtles. Placed a stop payment on the check - bank let them cash it anyway. DO NOT USE. THEY ARE THEIVES AND DO HARDLY ANY WORK. God Almighty will strike them down for their chicanery and deceit. read more

It doesn't matter how many employees they have because they aren't going to sent two or three people to cut this bush down to the stump nor any other small job that isn't worth their time anyway . I don't know what to believe at this point haha I've definitely seen them here before and the advertisement is on my FRONT door not mailbox so someone's been here . I just don't have the tools and though it be nice to have someone come chop all this stuff down and haul it away on my day off. I was told he wouldn't do the job because it was to small and he didn't think I'd pay the minimum of $375 to get my rose bush cut down to the stump along with some branches on my tree in the backyard . He suggested I call a landscaper or buy a saw even though his letter doesn't specify job sizes or minimum prices. He's rite $375 is ridiculous I've had entire Palo Verde trees taken down for $450 . I told the women who made my appointment what I was wanting and the size of the job so why even send anyone ? I always wonder why people turn down good money because they set such high standards and expectations per job but lose out on tons of small jobs that add up . Funny enough I had several houses on my block ready to do small projects like mine that wouldn't take much time to do and would make this company more than $375 guaranteed without much effort . My neighbors alone where waiting to see how the job turned out today and where equally ready to pay reasonable prices to get work done for small jobs. Greg, one of the arborists, was given to me as reference. I contacted him and he was out quickly to look at our tree. It has been struck by lightning during a storm and we did not know the extent of the damage. He was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer every single one of my questions. And I had many. Turns out the tree had to go; in fact, it was at risk of falling on the house. He got to work quickly and was out a few days later to take it down. I was obviously upset at losing our beautiful shade tree, but he gave me great recommendations for other things to plant. I had several companies look at the tree and gave me similar estimates and the same feedback that the tree was at risk of falling and needed to be removed. I made an appointment with Certified Tree Care to have our oak trees trimmed of multiple branches that had been wrecked by last winter's freeze. They called in advance to say they would arrive yesterday at 8 am. They did. A crew of four set to work on the several trees. All of the crew were careful, one member was assigned to stay with the trailer so as the others dragged and carried dead branches to the trailer, this one sawed up the debris so it would better fit in the trailer. About four hours later, Certified Tree Care had trimmed the dead branches, loaded them in the trailer to cart away, swept down the pool deck, carefully cleaned the pool of any fallen debris, replaced the chaise lounge to the deck, swept an adjacent deck - in short, everything was in apple-pie order and the dead oak branches were loaded for disposal. They couldn't have done a better job! read more

We had nice big trees in our front yard that gave us privacy to our house from the Main Street. The were full 10 year old trees we hired this company to come out and do a very simple trim and they butchered or trees. Been in our neighborhood multiple times regardless of being asked to leave by multiple residents for multiple days. We have a large no soliciting sign on our gate. They get confrontational with residents that do not want service, they are dishonest and whoever is at the door is told their significant other or spouse knows them and asked them to come. Today not only one came but two. We will call the police at this point. Folks are feeling threatened and these people are trespassing they are openly on people's property. People have pictures from door cameras. Even if the folks that come out to do the work are great why would anyone want to do business with a company that tells their people " unless you get kicked out you're not doing your job ". That was told to one of the residents by one of the sales folks. read more

We recently used Certified after ice damage to our trees. The representative who came out was very nice and appeared knowledgeable. When he quoted the work, it was extremely expensive, so we had to seek additional assistance to reduce the cost. We had them do a portion of the work since it involved workers climbing up into the tree to complete it. The cost was still very expensive, but our options were limited due to the tree services being overwhelmed from the ice event. When the crew (of 3) came to do the work, we quickly discovered that two of the workers could not speak English and the team lead needed to use Google translate to communicate with them. I was surprised that Certified would have sent a Spanish speaking crew with an English-speaking lead. The service was adequate, however, there was a decision to do substantially less work than quoted but there was no discount whatsoever. Additionally, there was a particular branch which was close to the house and the crew needed a rope to prevent it from hitting the house when cut. Since they did not have a rope, the lead went to retrieve one. While the lead was gone, the two remaining crew decided to cut the branch on their own anyway. As one would anticipate, we heard a loud bang outside and I discovered the branch had hit the house causing damage. The damage that the crew caused was worse than any damage, to our house, caused by the ice storm. When the Lead returned, he took photos of the damage and reported it to his supervisor. Certified contacted a roofing company to repair the damage. The damage is high so it's difficult to determine the quality of the repair, but Certified never even followed up with us to see if everything was completed property. read more

Our large red oak lost a big branch, and there was another branch that was hanging out to close to our swimming pool, so I had them prune that and cart away all the debris. Great job! read more

I had a a big branch fall from the winter storm and called them again. Daren came out, dealt with the branch, and advised me on how to save money by treating the site of the broken limbs myself. Ryan, who is an Arborist, came out and gave me a great price for the work I inquired about. I have a large, beautiful Pecan tree in my front yard that needed trimming. He told me it would be about a month before they could get one of their crews out for the job, they were there 2 weeks later. The crew was professional, courteous and quick. It was the end of the day and a second crew arrived to help with the clean up. They raked the yard after picking up all of the tree limbs and climbed up on the roof with a leaf blower and blew the saw dust off. After the roof, they blew the saw dust off of the cars and the driveway. Good job! read more

I am absolutely furious over this. This seems to be a repeat of other posts, which is even more infuriating. What they are doing is criminal. They came out and gave me an estimate, took a 50% deposit (mine plus some neighbors), told me they would be out in 7-10 days and they would be calling to schedule later that day. They never called to schedule. They have not shown up to work. They will not return phone calls, whether they were nice vm's or the upset ones I left the last two days. I went to their social media on instagram and left a comment. They deleted it and blocked me. My son can still see their page (my comment gone). This is proof they have zero intention of honoring the work they took money for nor communicating with me. Which is theft. They also canvased our neighborhood with fliers stating they would have their large crews out in our area and were looking for work... all while ignoring those they took deposits from. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt knowing things are crazy right now, until they blocked me, which is fully showed their true intention. They came out on Feb 4th, processed the deposit on the 6th, and as of the 23 they have refused to follow through, or communicate, and blocked me on social media. I had to file a fraudulent theft charge with my bank on services charged for but not rendered. I have also filed with the BBB and spoken to the AG office (as this is a scam in time of crises). I encourage anyone who has had these issues to do the same, especially contacting the AG office. One star is being kind, I would give zero if YELP would have let me. read more

We used them multiple times but recently something has gone terribly wrong at this company. Like other reviewers they came to our property, did significant damage and we're now going to have to go to court with them. Despite many attempts over three months to resolve the issue, their salesman Dustin is not allowed to provide the contact information for the mysterious "Daniel" the customer service manager and won't provide contact information for anyone in the company. He relays messages but no one ever responds or calls. It's unfortunate that so many of us are now suing them but the gross mismanagement has left many former customers with no alternative. I took advantage of certified tree care's fall special. I wanted to take care of a large tree I had growing on my front lawn. It took several attempts to finally get a set date scheduled, but that was part of the deal in order to take advantage of the special being offered (being flexible on the date). When the day finally arrived, the African-American gentleman who led the true "crew" did a great job. I thought He was extremely efficient in trimming the tree, addressing areas I hadn't noticed, and removing all debris afterwards. I definitely recommend certified tree care. read more

Nick's team at Certified Tree Care did a great job removing two big old hackberry trees. The trees were on the fence line between two houses that are close together, and there were power lines near. One tree service told us that we would need a crane to do this job--at great expense. But Nick and his team of 4 guys really know how to work together, climbing, skillfully roping the limbs, hauling and chipping, and cleaning up. The whole job was done in 2 1/2 hours! They clearly have expertise. Tyler was very responsive, and scheduled the job sooner than expected. I highly recommend them. read more
