We called Ashland, which had positioned a handful of rat traps in the corners of our yard (we live in the city near its prime bar district). We called Ashland's emergency line and, within 15 minutes, Vincent (an Ashland Technician) called and assured us it was not what had been placed in the traps. He had us text him a photo to verify. Just a great, reasonable local service, which (BTW) has altered the frequency of their visits and number of traps multiple times at our request, without complaint.

When dealing with any pest problem, if living in a multi unit, check the tenant to see if they are experiencing issues and/or see if problem may be originating from there. That was a mistake we made and had to pay more later on to treat tenant's place. Nevertheless, I like Ashland Pest Control since it's a family owned company and one of the only remaining family owned places in the Buffalo area being in business for 30+ years serving both residential+commercial businesses. DO NOT USE THIS GUY! Ok, so at first I thought everything would be great, he claims to use…read moreenvironmentally safe treatments, his pricing is reasonable, and he called me back within 2 hours of a message being left. He is also NYS certified to use these chemicals. When he showed up is where the problems started. First of all, he pulled up in an unmarked SUV, and I thought he was a friend of the neighbors. Then, when he came into the house, he used the little syringe type of dispensers to place the chemicals on the corner of the windows. Guess what, the ants come from other places as well. Anyways, then he went outside and sprayed. Great. He then gave me a receipt and told me that in 2 months, he would call, or I could call him for re-application. That raised a red flag - who calls whom? Then he said that if we have any issues, to call him back in a week, and he would come and re-apply. Needless to say - we have issues, and 3 phone calls later, and 4 days, he has yet to call back. I give up, and am moving on. Chalking this up to a loss. Next time I will use a credit card so that way when someone doesn't show up like promised, I can dispute the transaction. Thanks for nothing JAMES!
