Painting the exterior of our home made me positively neurotic. I obsessed about colors, fretted over details like which parts of the trim and fascia to paint a contrasting color and which not to, had a zillion questions about paint types, warranties, etc., had to ask them to work around a roof repair, a garage door replacement, and a front door replacement, and generally was kind of a pain(t) in the butt to deal with. CertaPro met my neuroses with calm acceptance and great patience. Every step of the way, they were professional, responsive, prompt, and competitively-priced. So much so that I had them out a second time to stain a new fence we had built. A couple of times, we miscommunicated about details related to the jobs, and both times, our sales rep, Nathan, handled the situation with great diplomacy and made it right. I think sometimes you can tell more about a company from how they react when there's a problem than how they seem when everything is going perfectly; CertaPro shone in that department. CertaPro has done two jobs on the interior of my home, and they've both been consistently good. The only reason I didn't give it five starts is because the painters who did the first job were inappropriate and rude--particularly when one of them asked me how "someone like me" could "afford" a "house like this." The work was great, and the initial estimate was wonderful. Maybe train the painters in customer service. read more

I'm genuinely surprised by the poor reviews on this site. I had a great experience with CertaPro. Nathan came out to quote the job and was very professional. The price was reasonable. Not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive. Jordan from the office did a great job communicating with me and the crew showed up on time. Now for the crew...Miguel and another gentleman were wonderful! They were *very* respectful of our house and taped/laid plastic and protective materials down on all the hardwoods, carpet, etc. They sprayed cabinets in the garage and setup plastic in such a way that our belongings were protected. They did a fantastic job and the result is excellent. Nathan came after the fact to inspect their work. From start to finish we received excellent, professional service. I will definitely use CertaPro again, and I will ask for Miguel and his crew! read more

I want to give tI recently had an entryway and hall painted by CertaPro Painters. I have waited a few days to make sure I can accurately relay my experiences. The initial visit to assess and bid was good. I was surprised, however, by the high bid, but they had gotten excellent reviews on Yelp. I scheduled the job. As expected, the day before the job was to be done, I received a reminder call. The morning of the call, the painter showed up alone and it took me over an hour to interpret what all the job order said. I had to call my initial contact twice as there were a couple of confusing comments on the bid sheet. During the AM the painter did the prep work and painted the doors. He left at noon to get the wall paint--mix up there, too, so instead of being gone one hour as he predicted, he was gone two and a half. He did return at 3 and worked until 7. As he was leaving for lunch the "job foreman" drove up and spoke to the painter outside. I went out and spoke to the job foreman and told him how wasted the first half of the morning was, and he said, "yes, we have trouble hiring people who speak Engish--lots of people complain of that." Bottom line: I would use this company again if I could afford it. Very expensive, good work, poor communication. Love the finished product. read more

I'm going to do a review which is long overdue. I have had CertaPro painters of Austin do a couple of jobs for me over the last several years. The first one was a very small job of matching paint that was damaged in an air conditioning leak incident and the flooring and some of the drywall needed to be replaced. They needed to match the paint to what was existing, replace and repaint the trim after the flooring company replace the floor. They did a stellar job and I couldn't even tell where they had had to match the texturing as well as the original paint color. The second job was more recent. My house needed to be painted on the outside because it was 16 years old. It needed painting, caulking, and wood patching in a few places where there had been wood rot. I also opted to upgrade some of the wood that was being replaced to Hardy board. Nathan's crew came in, power-washed the exterior and got everything done very quickly. Nathan came by to see about any spots that needed a touch-up once you paint soaked in as well as anything I was not happy with. When my schedule conflicted with the crews schedule, he came out himself to finish up the job and make sure that everything was to my liking. It took him longer than expected because of door weather stripping that had changed sizes from the time that the first weatherstripping had been purchased to the replacement weather stripping. He took the time to make sure that it was done right and I had no problems with the job completed. I highly recommend them if you want a quality job done. read more

Since I moved to my new house I hated my kitchen. Those old looking oak cabinets were making my home look like from 80s. We even tried to sell our house and we received a lot of bad comments on our kitchen. We took our house from the market and decided to update our kitchen. I called CertaPro. They came my home and checked everything. I wanted them to pain my kitchen cabinets. They said my cabinets are great and just need some paint and hardware then they will look wonderful. Also they told me to not paint cabinets before I add granite countertops and backsplashes because they can damage the paint. I was impressed by the experience. Also they told me to put hardware on the cabinets. Just in case If I make a mistake they can fix it and paint it. I had no idea. Granite and backsplash was done and then next day CertaPro crew showed up and finished the worked in 2 days. (I have many cabinets) I picked Marshmallow color. My kitchen looked awesome. I am not selling my house right now. I loved it so much I want to enjoy it a while. Also few months after we had some chipping on the paint in a very small area. CertaPro came and checked and they said they will come paint and touch up any spot I have problem with. It is a wonderful company. I have been doing updates at my house recently and I did not meet with any other company taking responsibility of their work and fast and no surprise charges. It is hard to find these days. This company was recommended by our real estate agent. We paid a premium price for a poor quality product. There were streaks on every door because they didn't use enough coats. They left paint all over our floors. They didn't use painters tape, The trim is sloppy, with paint left on window sills and areas it shouldn't have. There are plenty of painters out there. Stay away from this company. read more

They painted my entire house, 2 story, 3700 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. Hadn't been painted in a while and the trim was a bit banged up in places. Wallpaper had to be removed from one bathroom, which was challenging to paint. Took 5 days. The guys were here promptly at 8AM, worked all day and then some. Stayed late Friday evening to finish up. Unreliable. Scheduled an estimate, waited, nobody showed up. After I called, the receptionist told me that she cancelled my appointment. She explained that she tried calling to inform me but had the number written wrong ( I did repeat the number twice to make sure they have it). After I asked how can they cancel without the client's confirmation, she just said they have limited resources and can't accommodate everyone. This in not the business that instills confidence. They hide behind reputable name and act like a small time contractor (although some small time contractors are wonderful and very punctual). read more

Please read this before you consider hiring CertaPro. It might save you money and a mountain of frustration. I hired them to paint the interior of my rental house. The assigned painter failed to properly prep the doors, trim, and baseboard. As a result, the paint failed to adhere. I was told to wait 3 weeks so the paint could cure. I waited, and the result was the same. That was 3 weeks I lost in renting the house. CertaPro wanted to make good after they dropped the ball. I agreed to let them paint a remodeled bathroom in the house I live in. Big mistake. The painter assigned to the job sent a painter he had barely met after CertaPro repeatedly said a particular painter would do the job. The painter who showed up had problems painting the bathroom because of his large size, and his work was very sloppy. He also didn't paint parts of the quarter round. I found out later that the assigned painter quickly fired that painter. Kudos to Jordan, one of CertaPro's office employees. She has been very helpful. But the bottom line is that many of the painters CertaPro contracts with do not do professional work. I will not use them in the future. Talk to other painters before using CertaPro. You don't want to go through what I went through. read more

Andrew was a true professional...very meticulous about taking my cabinets apart and making sure the job was done right! He and Les worked together and were very professional. Les was great, too, but Andrew really went above and beyond! When he put my cabinets back together, one of the hinges wasn't working, so he went to Home Depot and got another one and fixed the problem. I would definitely hire them again! Buyer Beware: I had quote for exterior painting done and that went OK. The estimator knew what he was doing and made some good recommendations. The problem began when I started "trying" to read the legaleze fine print on the back of the contract. It was printed in light grey such that I couldn't even read the 2 year warranty exclusions. That said: I have a legal back ground and am immediately suspicious of this type of contract. Hopefully you wont have any issues with their work as any claim you make will probably be on the exclusions list. Admittedly Im not sure because I cant read it.!!!! read more

I had a very positive experience with Certa Pro. They were communicative, easy to get a hold of when I had questions, courteous, and professional. The job was very well done and finished on time. I had the painters patch and fill a bunch of nail holes B and I made in the ceiling (don't ask, its a long story). They did a spectacular job even though it must have been a real pain in the ass. Annoying requests by me notwithstanding, the painters were friendly and thoughtful, and cleaned everything up nicely when they were done. I will be calling Certa Pro again soon. read more

Overall this was a great experience. We had 5 interior rooms painted by CertaPro, and they all turned out perfect. The crew delivered on everything that John promised, and there were two rooms that required wallpaper removal----which can be brutal. My wife was pleased with the work they did to help us pick out colors----looking for just the right pink for our daughter's room. We tried 6 different versions of pink, but John was patient and the crew painted samples on the wall for my wife to look at and select to one that she liked. During the final walk through, I expected to see some areas for touch ups, but neither myself or my wife could find any---and I'm picky about cut lines. I'm really pleased I went with CertaPro---and will use them again. read more
