Worst ever. Photo shows problems on Day 1. It just continued from there on. Left the wall hole exposed to phone line and hid it. One week later, they Installed cable outside and laid down cable across my walkway (safety hazard). Scheduled appointment to bury cable, and caused break in water line and flooding to yard. Scheduled appointment to fix water line after several calls and contacting Customer Service Supervisor. Suddenly, 5G network keeps dropping connection to internet. Called again to make appointment, waiting on technician. Moved bed to install longer, adjustable DSL phone line for modem, found hole in wall and plate on floor. This is what Century Link does to their new customers. Poor service all the way around. Do not fall for EarthLink internet offers, they are actually CenturyLink and they are awful. read more

If you want reliable internet service, and I mean internet service that reliably goes down multiple times a day in clusters of time, especially during the warmer summer months, then go for CenturyLink. Oh, and especially go for the CenturyLink if you know that no matter what the problem is you're never going to need to speak to anyone in the customer service or support group, because they either won't answer, have you hanging on the phone literally for hours, or hang up on you when they can't answer something. I would advise ANYONE with CenturyLink who has had a rate increase to call the Billing Department and do the following steps I have outlined. You will reduce the amount you pay. I called the Billing Services 1-800-244-1111 number on 4/6/2018. My yearly introductory rate for 40 Mbs high speed internet had expired ($49.71/month). My latest bill had almost doubled, to $85.85/monthly. I talked to Dennis Phillips at the billing call center. He was extremely nice and patient with me and said he could apply a standard rate (Plan for Life) to my bill, thereby reducing it to $59.99/monthly before taxes. He said he would be transferring me to the Retention Department and for me to ask for a Customer Loyalty Credit. Upon transfer, I talked to Nicky, who told me she loved working for CenturyLink and had been working for them for 15 years. Nicky, a CenturyLink account specialist, was super nice and helpful after I told her how long I had been a loyal customer. She told me she could apply a Customer Loyalty Credit which would reduce my monthly bill (with taxes) to $49.71. This was the same rate I had been paying for the first year of introductory service! Nicky was able get me a credit for $25, since I would have to pay $84.85 for the current month, before the discounts kicked in and my bill went back down to $49.71. Dennis Phillips and Nicky both rock and deserve a raise from CenturyLink. Perfect, fast, customer service with the personal touch. If you ask for them I'm sure they will help you too. read more

I'm writing this on my cell phone because this is quite possibly THE absolute WORST ISP ever! That includes AT&T and 3-4 other companies I've had over the last 15+ years. I made the mistake of buying my modem with these morons, they did replace it after telling me I've been overloading it streaming movies (I haven't) and now the whole thing has come to a grinding halt. I wish o could do a -5 star rating for service in Lamy, NM. We were either the first or second to get hooked up to a pod located in my uncles yard and service was actually good. Now they're stupidly hooked up several houses to it and service is SLOW. Phone calls are interrupted with continual clicking noises and spotty connectivity. Calling a tech is useless because they NEVER resolve it. I'll keep calling to waste their time and money since they want to keep wasting mine. read more

Horrible service. Upgraded my internet and it was only good for 1 whole day. Then it went to crap. Been with this company for 9+ years. When we asked what's wrong with the internet they sent someone to "fix" the situation. All they did was unplug the router and plug it back in saying it'll be fixed soon. Thanks buddy I've been doing that every gosh darn time and that neverrrrrrr does anything. If anyone has a better suggestion for Internet, please let me me know ASAP. Worst. Customer Service. Ever. I've had to call "customer service" regarding incorrect billing at least 12 times over the past few years and its literally always a negative experience. This company doesn't appear to train their reps so I always get different information every time I call. Recently I called to cancel my landline (but keep internet service) as as my bill had doubled. The rep told me that she could not subtract services;she could only add them. She told me that I would have to call another number, cancel my account, and start over as a new customer with internet only. WTF?? I hung up and will try to reach someone that knows what they are doing next week. If I knew of other options, I would just cancel altogether. read more

This is probably my first or second one star review of anything on yelp. I only picked them because I dislike Comcast. Comcast is amazing by comparison. If I could give them negative stars I would. I setup an appointment to get internet service in my new apartment. They give me this 12-5 pm windows in which they'll show up. And not only do they not show up, I have to waste another 30 min of my life contacting customer service only to find out I am nowhere in their system. They gave a half hearted apology. It would not surprise me if they started charging my credit card some time down the line. I get better customer service at the dmv. A monkey playing darts could probably make better business decisions than them. Some chick gave then 5 stars by mistake which is why they average a 1.5. Stay away. read more

My household has CenturyLink and we needed to upgrade our service because i had to start working from home. I had to call multiple times because my service was very poor and it was impacting my work. Finally after multiple frustrating calls they sent out a technician who was incredible. We figured that since this is a big house it may be the location of the modem and the wires inside the house that were causing the issue. We decided. That it would be a good idea for me to set up my own private service leading to my part of the house that led directly from the box. I get a brand new router and they come out to connect a line for me. Again it was the same amazing technician. He did a great job. But once I got the router set up I have not had very great service and again it caused me multiple problems with my job. I called to get help and I was transferred several times without anyone trying to help. And now I have been on hold with the last transfer for at least 30 minutes. I am incredibly frustrated and I dont believe at this point that I am going to get the assistance that I need. I am ready to cancel my service and find a new provider because this poor service is hurting my livelihood. read more

I have dealt with so much issues with this provider in the past before I had moved out of a house that had their service I could rarely connect and there were periods of time in the day I could not even stream on Netflix so yeah even had issues in my home a year ago.... so yeah I definitely do not appreciate calling them and asking for help all I get is the representative trying to sell me another plan since mine was not working....they try to come off as helpful but unfortunately fall short. They should of not been allowed to buy out Rio Rancho as the main provider this is not right as internet is needed it is a life now days and they know this so they jack up the prices to everyone who lives out here..... Cable One is the new provider I am with and they are pricey but at least it is better streaming and customer service never thought this state was so expensive for internet 70+ dollars a month not including cable! and I lived in California where internet was not so high ( paid 40 a month in Los Angeles and Long Beach) just the cost of housing.... seems twisted where housing is cheaper you get higher prices services and food..... This is the far WORST internet service I have ever encountered. My 1st bill was suppose to be $134 and it was $237. No rep was able to assist me accurately because they refuse to inform me that they wrongly charge me to purchase the modern instead of leasing it from the second call made. Then the 2nd bill was $297. I was furious. I called and that's when I found out they charged me 99.99 to purchase the modern, an extra 25.00 was added for service fees, 10+ in taxes that weren't suppose to go over 1 buck. I paid 240 of that bill. I called again to ask when my monthly bill going to go to the amount I signed up for at 34.59 and they stated the 3rd bill will be that amount. And oh I will receive a credit of 100 due to the modern suppose to be lease and another of 42.83 for over paying. The 3rd bill came around the bill was 146. I was hot! They disconnected my service without notice stating my service was pass due and the due date 4 days ago. After calling and speaking to a rep that hung up in my face I was transferred to a manager, Myra who then transferred me to an account specialist, Larry so to speak. He notice all these errors: 42.83 over payment was never credited, 100 purchase modern was not credited, since I wasn't enrolled in the auto pay and paperless I wasn't getting the promo discount. Wth!!! I screamed mentally. Fed up with Century Link at this moment. However, after all the calculations my final monthly bill still wasn't the promo rate at 34.59 but the 49.83. This is too much. The adjusted promo was 44.95+ 9.99 lease modern+ 3.99 service fee+ 1.00 in taxes, which the adjusted total was 49.83. If you ask me the math was off. So the total credits received totaled to 150.59 with a credit of -4.55 from the 146.04 bill owed and my service was still disconnected for entire day and half after credits received. I called to get a credit was wrongfully turning my service off and they stated they don't do that. So I cancelled my service. I'm tired of paying all this money and for Internet service I been having issues with since day one of service. I get charged a $250 termination fee for early termination and only been able to use my service for one entire month and a half out of 3 months using the service. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND FOR ANY RESIDENT TO USE THIS SERVICE JUST GO TO DIRECT TV DIRECTLY. It's not worth the headed, time and effort. It's a waste of time and hard earn money to be wasted on such an ungrateful Internet company. NEVER AGAIN!!! I put that an everything. Hope this helps. I know this will be an unpopular review. Internet issues are always such a headache and since the world seems to stop if our servers go down, the subject gets even more passion-filled. This morning I woke to no internet. Having had endless issues with Comcast in the past, I was NOT excited to spend what I expected to be at least an hour on the phone with CenturyLink trying to fix the problem. Endless automated voices, endless questions and extensive security verifications that never seem to make sense when all you're trying to do is re-set your modem. However, beyond the two initial automated prompts..."english or spanish" and "new customer or existing"... I was immediately connected to a sweet woman (Bobbie) who listened to the problem and then... fixed it. Immediately! I was on the phone maybe five minutes and I hung up feeling happy and relaxed. Internet issues are such a "first world problem" in the most ridiculous way, but it's true that spending too much time talking to a robot or someone who makes you jump through hoops before they fix anything is a huge pain and enough to piss anyone off. Anyway, I don't think this is even the correct place to give this kind of review. I called the 1-800 Technical Support line. But I wanted to give praise somewhere. Too often people only make the time to write a review when they're upset, feeling entitled, and wanting to complain. I don't know how CenturyLink is all of the time and I'm sure there are issues. Beware Century Link!!! My bill was never as low as they claimed it would be. The internet service does NOT work. If you call to resolve the issue Century Link will do nothing to fix the problem. They will over charge you every month for a service that they refuse to provide. When I switched providers Century Link sent me a huge bill for an early termination fee even though I never agreed to any contract. Beware- Century Link will over charge for services they refuse to provide, if you call the customer service people will be extremely rude, & they will falsify documents to scam you out of even more money. read more

Worst. Company. Ever. My identity was stolen during a break-in, so my accounts were frozen. All my money was in my account. I called and was told I wouldn't get a late fee, which isn't there, so there's obviously been contact with this horrid company. I was also told that I would continue to get the auto bill pay discount due to hardship. And of course there are no notes (surprise surprise; not the first time). So instead of listening to reason (refering to the late charge miraculously not being on my account), CenturyLink (your representatives are your company and reflective of it) is basically saying i have no proof I called, even though there is because of the late fee, punishing me for something out of my control and charging me money I cannot pay. That's just the most recent issue. There are numerous indiscretions between policy and what customers are being told. I've had to call every month because of an issue I've had with CenturyLink. This is the worst company I've ever had services with. I'd rather be with Comcast, which is saying something because I dislike that company... I just see it as the lesser of two evils. Save yourself the headache and go with a better company who will stand up to any type of positive standards. read more
