We needed internet service for a rental property in Arizona, and settled on Sparklight. Everything actually was fine (which is why I gave them two stars instead of one) until we sold the house and went to cancel service. Holy cow, Sparklight really does not want to let you close your account. The local office was closed (the next closest one is hours away), with a sign on the door saying it would be closed all week, so we put the equipment in their drop box and I went to my account to try to cancel it online. The online customer service rep insisted the office was open (clearly she had bad information) and couldn't do anything for me. So I called, and the telephone rep conceded that maybe the office had been closed but told me that it would open the next day (which doesn't help me since I'm not in the area). Both told me that my account could not be closed out until Sparklight had actually received my equipment back. When is that? Well, it's apparently up to them when/if they decide to reopen their office and close my account. So now I'm going to have to call every day or so to see if they have it yet, and/or go through the fun of turning off my automatic credit card payments to the company. read more

Only reason it gets one star is because the employees and customer service reps are nice enough. But the level of Internet service is unacceptable for the price we pay there's been constant interruptions of service or it goes in and out and never works consistently but not many options in the Rio Rancho area and CenturyLink ain't much better. Sparklight needs to get their act together otherwise we will be taking our business to Xfinity when they come to town in May. read more

The service is extremely slow since they changed from fidelity. They have told me five times to roll up in the auto pay. And I'm still not enrolled in auto pay. I did take a shot of every bill they sent me in the conversations we had. So I do have proof that I am enrolled in auto pay. They keep sending me emails that I'm not. read more

I left Centurylink because their service was terrible and their customer service is non existent. I was really happy with Soarklight at first. Now, service keeps dropping and I work from home. My service is so terrible at this point, I had to return to working at the office. I've tried everything they ask for as troubleshooting, nothing works. The techs that I've spoken to multiple times tell me that they can see my service is completely unstable but still say I must be doing something to cause this to happen. Like what!! I finally got them to schedule a service call in 3 weeks. I have to stay home all day and wait for the technician to confirm the appointment or they will cancel. I wish I could move to another provider but options are limited in my area. I can't stress enough, if you have any other choice, don't pick Sparklight. You'll only be disappointed. read more

Yes, this is going to be one of those "If I could give zero stars I would" scenarios. Wow. Where do I even start. We bought a house in Rio Rancho in March and still don't have internet set up. It's now the middle of May. I seriously think I am being punked with the lack of service to find out when they can "bury the line". The previous owner had Sparklight and had it days before we took ownership. Every single time I have called they say, "I see that someone was there on April 6th and that they need to have a new line buried." I say yes but nothing has happened since then and then they tell me they are going to investigate and call me back and they never do. I laughed out loud at Lauren's naive review below mine "golly gee I can't understand why all the reviews of people actually have using the service are so low, I'm just basing my review on the guy coming and setting up my router - 5 stars for me! Wow what an amazing service!" I work from home and run an online business from my house. I pay for the highest tier of service with Sparklight - something like $110/month. Every day, without fail, my internet goes offline. Sometimes it's in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes in the evening. But it will be without fail. Every day. Sometimes dropping me out of my zoom meetings with clients. When it is working I get half the speed that is advertised (they advertise dl speeds up to 940mbps, in reality it's barely over 500, sometimes 450). I wish I had someone to grab me by the shoulders and shake me to warn me of this company. If this is the only internet company available to you for a house you're looking at and being able to work from home is important to you - find another house. This was my only high speed option and I should have kept looking for another rental. Don't think that "oh maybe it's an outlier", don't be like me and assume they must have had improved their service since all of the other negative reviews, READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS - DONT IGNORE THEM. Obviously if this changes and sparklight improves their service - and I hope they will - I will be happy to update this review to reflect this but if you're reading this as I originally wrote it stay far, far away. Sad to see all the low reviews Sparklight has received. My review is just on my initial experience, picking up the router. Antonio was very helpful, kind, explained what I needed to do, and provided a number for tech assistance, should I need it. It was a pleasant exchange. Went home and plugged everything up and No Internet, I called the tech support and again received a very nice, patient, and personable tech named Robert. We were able to get everything working, which is crucial as I work remote. Will definitely provide additional info if the quality of service falls short. For now, I am very pleased. read more

Ever since they (CableOne) changed to Sparklight, the service has been the worse ever. I am talking about the Internet Service, Customer Service and Technician Service. Unbelievable on how much time they waste on top of waiting a week or up to 2 weeks just to get a technician to come out and do nothing. I have been getting cutoff from the internet about 10 times a day at the very least. This is absolutely the worst internet service provider I've ever been associated with. The router must be rebooted frequently throughout the day as the internet connection goes down four or five time daily. I paid for the higher speeds....go figure. They have stated on four separate occasions (on one the rep absolutely promised his word that it would get fixed immediately), Now six months later... "crickets", not once did they come by and bury the cable as promised numerous times. They provide you two connection addresses so they must know that they often go out. I'm certain if and when another service comes in, They will reap what they sow. read more

I can't even pick a consistent time to use anything Internet related it disconnects so randomly. It doesn't matter if it's 6pm high traffic during a weekday use or 2am on a Sunday. Their infrastructure is probably outdated and incapable and they are horrendously overpriced for the pathetic up/down speeds they offer. Don't bother with this sad excuse of an ISP. My wife and I moved into a new home in Mariposa on 7 Jan. We love our home; however, Sparklight totally dropped the ball. They failed to run a conduit and fiber optic cable from the street to our house. So, we have no internet or TV and we work from home. They've sent techs out three times - each came and left telling us they couldn't start our service because there was no line to the house. We've called about 20 times. They never have status and they cannot tell us when we'll have service. This is why having a monopoly as the only provider in an area is a very bad idea. read more

The upload and download speeds remain at a constant abysmal rate and watching any sort of movie will cause you to go over they're lowest package rate. CableOne is the WORST cable service in Rio Rancho. I think they are over priced compared to other cable companies, the internet is exceptionally expensive and if you need your service upgraded on a Friday and don't call before 4pm you are out of luck until Monday. if you have any other choice besides CableOne go with your other choice. The package we ordered was not what was installed and when we called the non customer service department, my wife was met with, "we will review the recording of the phone conversation and get back to you, but we know we are right. I'm sure you made the error, not us." I'm so livid, I don't even know how to move forward with them. ZERO STARS! Waiting 3 weeks to receive my $350 deposit refund. I was told the check was mailed from Phoenix on 4/15. Today is 4/29 and still no check. 15 days for mail delivery from Phoenix to Albuquerque? I am not happy!! UPDATE 5/4/16: Still no check. A phone rep told me today that the corp. office processes refund checks only once a month, and it may have been mailed on the 22nd. I said I was told previously that the check was mailed on April 15th. She said refund mail dates are not entered in the system, and she doesn't know why someone gave me the date of the 15th. The best she can do now is forward my complaint to a supervisor who will notify the corp. office so someone can trace the check. They will contact me, maybe in a couple of weeks. read more
