Best pizza I've had in California. I ordered a Margharita pizza with olives and mushrooms. Both the toppings can only be described as "artisan." There was a variety of olives, a variety of mushrooms, both marinated artfully so they were juicy (but not soggy) and tender and oh, so flavorful. Just wonderful. Well lit, modern pizzeria with a selection of red and white pies to choose from. We ordered the salsiccia and turtufo pizzas, which were both pretty tasty in flavor. Personally for me, I like my crust a bit thicker, so this was a bit too thin for me. As a result, the sauce from the pizza made the bottom part of the dough kind of soggy. Had to eat it with a knife and fork and it was a bit messy. So texture wise, this pizza was not up to my standards. Taste wise, I would say these are some decent pizzas. The pizza was for pick up, about $40 for two. The margherita pizza was awesome! Really fluffy crust, light bread, and tasty cheese! However the toppings did not stay on the bread for the pepperoni, kind of just sliding off as I picked up each slice. If the toppings stuck, for sure this is a five star. Centro Pizza does not have a wood-burning oven! It looks like a woodburning conventional pizza oven, but it is a gas oven. All that said, the pizza is quite good. They do a very nice Neapolitan pizza and they have very friendly service. Prices are reasonable. read more

When I started this review the first time I went here it was actually 3 stars. It seemed like the person doing the pizzas was new, which is understandable, as you have to be new at some time. One person was showing him how to make the pizzas as well as cook but he was busy making pizzas and couldn't watch the baker the whole time. A lot of pizzas were coming out burned as my friend and I sat at the counter and watched. Instead of redoing pizzas, they would simply scrape off most of the burnt crust and still serve it. This doesn't get rid of the burnt flavor. Pizza was just ok...it's also possible we went only a little after they first opened their doors. I just went again today because I knew the wife liked special pizzas and wanted to try the place so I was willing to risk it so she could try it herself. This time it was not all the same staff so the pizzas came out perfect, considering the heat from those style ovens. We were greeted immediately when we arrived and there was plenty of seating since they only opened 30 minutes earlier, within about 40 minutes the place was completely full. The first slice I grabbed some of the toppings, including cheese slid off, no biggie, I've had thin crust pizzas that have done that...just use a fork and eat those little bits. That's why I added the extra sprinkle cheese to bind everything together and after that...nothing fell off again . Pizza was cooked perfectly! Such good flavor combo. The wife's romana pizza, $16, with cheese +$2, was salty but told her what do you expect if you have olives, anchovies, and capers on your pizza. She said it was still delicious though. Came here with my sis and niece for a dinner before my niece headed out to Florida for a year or so. . Came on a Friday night and snagged the last table around 6:45. It didn't seem to be a big deal though cuz I never saw anyone waiting around for a table. Had to say, I thought it was a little pricey but I really did enjoy the pizza. She had the magherita pizza and I had the tartufo pizza. I loovvveee truffle flavor! Honestly my niece and sister don't love truffle like I do so they pretty much ate the magherita pizza and even though they offered me some, I didn't want to take it away from them! I did get to take the single piece home but my son ate it! I think it's safe to say they enjoyed it since it was mostly all gone! The tartufo did not disappoint. When the pizza arrived you could smell the hint of truffle. Yum! My niece made a face and didn't like the aroma! Oh well, more for me! I'm not a sausage fan (I'm a pepperoni kind of gal) but the sausage as smooth and went well with the truffle flavor. The cheese was a great balance too. I am a cheesy kind of gal, but I will admit sometimes too much cheese can kill the other flavors (I just love the goo and stretch of the cheese) but Centro has a good balance of cheese with some stretch but not overpowering. However, as other reviewers have mentioned, the dough is quite thin and not sturdy enough to withstand all the cheese and toppings. Therefore you may end up with a soupy mess. When I entered, I thought we're supposed to order at the counter and my first impression looks like it's a casual place. We order for pickup on a Friday night. When I arrived I have observed the indoor was packed with customers. The indoor sitting looked pretty nice. The staff were nice and the food was ready on time. I always appreciate smiling folks. We have ordered three pizzas. The Margherita and Capricciosa were not good to be honest. 3.5 stars, mostly split opinion between me and everyone else around me This is a pretty local place, also owned by the folks who own the Italian place in town (I think). I've dined in soon after they opened, and gotten take out throughout the pandemic and beyond. The folks who run the place are always very nice, with exceptional service (even as the decor is a little barebones). The pizzas are decent but I found the toppings just ok -- it just feels a bit cookie cutter? It's not that I'm looking for weird ingredients, it's just that I wouldn't be able to distinguish a margherita pie from here. Nothing that makes me go like "I have to have the pizza here". The salads are similar, a bit bland for me as well. That said, the mister and my friends who live nearby all think I'm wrong, so YMMV. Maybe there are good days, and average days. read more

Honestly some of the best traditional Neapolitan pizza I have had in the area. The pizza here is so good. The inside is also very inviting and service is pretty good. You can basically only go here for dinner time since their hours are 4pm-9pm and they close on Mondays. They have a nice selection of options for pizzas plus salad options. Most recently I ordered the Pizza Sapore ($23) and the Insalata Pera ($15). The Insalata Pera I ordered with blue cheese on the side because I don't like blue cheese, but it was still a good salad to have before you get your pizza. It was a little light on the dressing, but I still liked the addition of the pears also. I just can't properly rate it because I didn't eat it the way it was intended to be eaten. The Pizza Sapore was soooo good. The crust had a really nice crisp and I really like their dough. I'm not the biggest crust fan, but their pizzas had me devouring their crust. It comes with mozzarella on the surface of the dough then arugala, prosciutto, olive oil, and the biggest standout which is the burrata in the center of the pizza. It was packed with flavor and the best part is that it's not greasy and you don't feel heavy or gross after eating multiple slices. Would definitely recommend this. I would definitely continue coming back to Centro Pizza because they seem to have a good thing going now after being open for over a few years at this point. Really good pizza. Great crust and really tasty toppings. I don't love the TVs, but I stopped noticing them when I tasted the pizza.

Excellent service from the welcoming staff. I really liked the simple rustic ambiance as well. I had the Insalata Pera made with mixed greens, pear, walnut, bleu cheese, and honey walnut vinaigrette. The dressing was great and vegetables tasted very fresh. For the pizza, I had the Regina Margherita made with tomato sauce, Bufala mozzarella, basil, and cherry tomato confit. The crust was awesome but I found it to have just a bit too much sauce for my taste. It still tasted really good though. read more

I was nearby, so when looking for a pizza place is Burlingame that I have yet to try, Centro with it's 4.5+ rating on Yelp, it got my attention. Another outing with the gf and the pooch, too. Cute place, perfect size, open kitchen -- I liked. The menu, good! Service was a mixture of rude/unattentive (by one), and super nice and caring by another (to save the day). We ordered a Tartufo [$22, 4.5 stars] and Salsiccia [$19, 4.0 stars]. The Tartufo with the cream of mushroom with black truffle, sausage, smoked Mozzarella had a delicious flavor...love the sausage. While the Salsiccia with tomato, mozzarella, sausage, onion, bell pepper, olives stood well on its own, but with the same ground sausage, it proved to be too similar to be fully enjoyed. But my beef is with the crust, as many others have written. Way too soft and too thin. It has a great texture on the crust, but the underlay is just not for me. Maybe neither is Napolitano style pizza as this is common. read more

We ordered the blue cheese salad, which was tasty, and one of their neapolitan pizzas, which was good.
