Outstanding job done by Lloyd Terry and crew. I had several quotes made to remove 4 trees, pruning and removing dead branches, and they where the best price by far. Lloyd is very knowledgeable and passionate about trees. He took the time to explain to me about the care and maintenance of each one. On the job, they went above and beyond by even cleaning the backyard and taking extra wood. They took 4 huge trees down and remove roots, cut dead branches of other 2 trees, pruned tree to clear space for chimney and roof, cleaned the backyard and front yard. All this work was done in half a day, impressed with efficiency and quality of the job. I am very pleased about the work done, will definitely be using their service again and will highly recommend. 5+ stars. read more

Lloyd had helped with several projects on a couple houses that I own. His philosophy seems to be that all beautiful lawns and trees begin with a Healthy Active Soil and I have to agree. Since Lloyd and sprayed our lawn and flower beds with his Magical Compost Tea, wow, they have really come to life. Even as Winter is approaching, my blooming plants still look great. Lloyd has an honest passion for what he does. Some people sell what they do as the best. It was clear Lloyd genuinely embraces best practices. Lloyd notes how hard the ground is when we meet. That means you're lacking microbes in the soil, he explains. I get it. Little critters both add nutrients that feed the grass and plants and also keeps the soil loose. Hard ground is a signal. I'm ready to move past chemical treatments, and Lloyd has sensible answers I'm wholly comfortable with. I've already selected plants by the time Lloyd comes on board and have things layed out in the beds. Lloyd's personality makes it easy to collaborate and am totally comfortable to let Lloyd tweak things. Everything looks just a bit better. We add a drip irrigation system. I learn to not go to Home Depot for parts as Lloyd explains the lines they sell can break. I'm steered toward commercial stuff that won't fracture with a winter freeze. It just expands, Lloyd explains. That's a relief. I like being educated. Parts are ridiculously affordable. As is the labor effort for Lloyd and his crew. I take note that Lloyd wraps the threads with teflon tape to make a good seal from the faucet. Not that a drip in garden bed is a problem. It just speaks to how I trust Lloyd to take care of the details and not leave any worries behind. How do we feed to the bed on the other side of the porch, I ask? I think maybe one of those long drill bits used by electricians is the way to go and to drill underneath the step. Lloyd has a better idea and calls a buddy with the right tool. His buddy is a great guy, too. No charge for the tool or his time. He just shows up and helps me figure out a better layout to a bed in the middle of my front yard along the way. A healthy attitude goes a long ways. Attracts other good people. Helps things go smoothly. Easily. Collaboratively. And also affordably. First of all, managing partner Lloyd Terry is easy to work with from beginning to the end. He is full of infectious (in a good way) and cheerful joy in his vocation. He listened carefully, took in our sense of what we were imagining and made it better. We had real sense of working together to make our vision into reality. As we planned we could go out and see the range former clients with projects he had already completed. Lloyd is a fountain of possibilities based in a deep understanding of his craft. His comprehensive knowledge of materials and plants helped us make tangible the where, the what and the how but he doesn't try to impose his vision. He has the greenest touch with plants, trees and gardens. He attends to the fine details of how to place and orient a plant in the ground. He integrated existing fixed elements in our yard, carefully moved small trees and roses, dug deep to take out invasive Bermuda. We now have a durable framework within which we can garden with plants to invite birds and butterflies. He helped us figure out what we could accomplish within our budget. Giving a detailed contract of work to be completed. They followed through in a timely manner. Just the nicest group of young men, Lloyd and Shaun. Our expectations were met and exceeded. read more

Lloyd gave me exactly the same run-around that he did in Jim A's review below. He came out after a few days (and possibly a follow-up?) to meet me and look at the garden. I told him I was under time pressure to install an irrigation system before I left town and rented out my place, and he told me they could do the job and that he would follow up with a quote. In the coming 10 days, I waited for the quote and it never came. I only got through to Lloyd when he picked up the phone -- he never called me back after I left a voicemail. I did have one follow-up call with him when I got him on the phone and I was able to ask again for the quote, and he promised it. But then, no quote -- by text, call or email. I kept calling him -- even after I left the city, hoping that he could do the job remotely -- but he stopped taking calls, seemingly. He didn't pick up, even when I anonymized my calls with the *67 prefix. I left a few more voicemails, still friendly and hoping to get the work done, and never heard back. So, yeah. I definitely can't recommend Lloyd. How unhelpful. Does he not want money? I was willing to pay what it took to get a good system competently installed. read more

Best Tree Service ever.....! He did an excellent job pruning my tree, clearing all dead branches and repairing branches.....will use again.

After discussing with owner Lloyd Terry on a tree and garden cleanup .. We agreed on a full day cut and exactly what to cut and where. On the day of the scheduled cut .. The three workers finished at 2pm and were well short of what we contracted on. I called the owner to remind him of our contract terms. At 3pm with no return call I instructed the relaxing workers what to cut. They resisted and owner Lloyd showed up at 330. He instructed them to finish after I reminded him it was a full day cut and what we agreed on. They finished the work at 5pm. It was barely acceptable. read more

We bought a house two years ago with 20 year old over-planting-----it looked like Sleeping Beauty's castle. Mr. Terry has helped us tame it with thoughtfulness and knowledge. Last year, his men were trimming a tree and found a nest with little nestlings. They carefully cut the entire branch out, without disturbing the little ones, and placed it in a nearby tree for mama bird to find. And the men were all wearing big smiles! Today, they salvaged appropriate sized branches for a future tree house for our grandchildren. We highly recommend Central Texas Tree & Garden. read more

I am usually very wary and nervous about hiring contractors, however, 30 seconds after meeting Lloyd Terry I knew I had found the right guy for the job. Lloyd oozes enthusiasm and passion for his profession, and the results speak for themselves. I purchased an Angie's List deal for Lloyd and his company to trim our trees. It took a little while to get on his schedule, but once we connected and set the date, it all went like clockwork. He met me at my house on Thursday evening to do a walk around my property and prepare an estimate. I felt very comfortable that Lloyd had the knowledge and skills to do the job, he presented me with what I thought was a fair quote, so I agreed to move forward. On Friday, Lloyd called me and wanted to know if he could come out on Saturday to do the job, I said "Sure!". On Saturday, he and his crew arrived right on time at 8:30am, prepared their tools, did their own walk around with Terry and got to work. Each tree received just the right amount of trimming and pruning. They climb the trees so they can clean each major branch by hand. They also cleared some very large 6-8 inch branches away from our roof. The whole job took about 6 hours, but it went so smooth I hardly noticed. They were surprisingly quiet with only the occasional chainsaw burst. As they want from tree to tree someone carefully gathered and stacked the branches and then raked the area under each tree clean. When they were all done Lloyd took me around my property. We had about 8 large, mature trees on our lot that needed a lot of care and attention. A few were almost 50 feet tall. Lloyd and his team took care of everything just like the proposal indicated. All the trees trunks and branches were very clean, and they sprayed all the major tree wounds. I bet I will be hiring Lloyd and his Central Texas Tree & Garden team again in the future for other tree, garden or landscaping jobs. read more
