Heard about this place from a coworker and thought it give them a try. Appt was super easy to make online and availability was great. Dropped her off at 10:30 and picked her before 12. Armando did a great job with my monster and cut her hair exactly how we like for this time of year. Cleaned her goods, her paws and her face and followed instructions for her diva hair. She was super happy leaving there which assured me they treated her just right. Definitely my new go to spot, reasonably priced as well. read more

The team at Central Barks Dog Grooming is amazing. Friendly and really in tune with your dog as soon as you walk in, eyes went down to greet Khaleesi like she was my own. And that's what we all want at the end of the day, a trusted place we can leave our dogs/family knowing they will be taken care of and come home looking MINT fresh. Shout out to GIgi who usually grooms her but I trust every one of them there with her hair cuts and brush outs to baths. read more

Thank you so much ladies for taking care of my pups ! I came in as a walk in for a nail trim and grind $20 and asked if they possibly would have an opening in case someone called out of their appointment that I would be more then happy to take their spot I got a call about 3 hours later and they took care of both in a very timely manner ! Thank you so much for your time and service I'm glad I was able to take them to a locally owned groomer We hope to see you again soon ! read more

I was pleased with my first visit to Central Barks. The co-owner was very friendly and took her time to check out my dogs coat before her grooming to let me know what I'd expect in the cost. She also paid attention to small details such as the face shape. I haven't gotten service like this at other dog salons in Salinas, they usually just take my dog in and that's it. I recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for a new salon. read more

The cut was not what was discussed and it was her third time there. There was no response to a question about why the hair was removed from my dog's legs. My inquiry went unanswered. Disappointing. Makes me mad I left a tip before I saw her come out. read more

Great location and service ! Armando is my go to dog groomer and always seems to take care of my dogs ! Great communication and timely service!!! read more

Central Barks is too expensive. They charge a base fee of 55 dollars. If your dog is matted, they charge 20 more. According to the employees, my dog was matted and charged me the extra fee. I beg to differ as my dog is an indoor dog that gets combed and bathed regularly. Since my dog was not "budging", I was also charged extra. Please consider the cost prior taking your dog to a grooming appointment at Central Barks. I only took him there because of availability issues with other grooming shops. I may give Central Barks another try, but I hope I don't spend more than $80. read more

Central barks is such a great location to bring your dogs! The shop is so big and beautifully decorated. I felt like my dog Lady was going to be well taken care of leaving her with Deedee. My dog was nervous when we walked into the shop but Deedee handled her with great care and was patient. The shop is located in a great location where there are tons of shops and restaurants to pick from to grab a bite to eat or look around to keep you occupied while your pet is getting groomed. The shop owner Deedee and Priscilla are very professional, nice and will make you and your pet feel welcomed as soon as you step inside. Lady was a mess first coming into the shop, because she is a hunting dog, and kinda stunk too. She is a yellow lab and her coat looked very dull at first. But after picking her up it was like picking up a whole new dog! Her coat was shiny, super soft, bright and very fluffy. Deedee even managed to help get rid of the bad dog breath lady had. I was embarrassed bringing my dog in at first because I was scared I was going to get judged for letting my dog get this dirty but Deedee was so nice and more than happy to help. Thank you Central Barks for taking such great care of my girl and doing a great job cleaning her up. I'll be bringing my business back here. Highly recommend this shop for your fur babies needs. read more

I used to come here as well but stopped coming due to a nail or two being missed as well. I didn't mind the first couple of times because it happens, but for the price you pay, you really need to do a complete service. My doggie is now with a different groomer who has more patience & understands that my pup needs a few more minutes to adjust & is able to complete the full grooming service. read more

We brought in our 2 year old English Bulldog and 1 1/2 year Poodle mix. Our Poodles hair is curly and about 4" long and had never been groomed before. The tech that helped us was amazing! She walked through step by step how she would be handling the pups, gave us time lines and even answered some other general questions we had and gave her opinion and recommendations. We got a text that they were ready, well within the timeline she gave, and we were arrived we were amazed! The bulldog was happy and the poodle was beautiful! We'll definitely come back and bring our other dog as well! read more

Be very careful. If you are 10 minutes late they will charge you. And they keep your card number on file.

My family recently moved to Salinas and have been going here for a few months. Typically they are very sweet and understanding, and although they are a bit overpriced they do a better job than most places around here. Recently I made an appointment for both of my dogs (one big dog and one little). I rushed over but unfortunately was running about 10 minutes late. My appointment was from 9-2:30. She told me I had wasted her time and she wouldn't take my dogs. She then charged me $125 to do nothing. I also explained to her that one of my dogs had been hit by a skunk earlier in the week and we were looking forward to getting him groomed but she didn't care. For being a regular customer with two dogs that lives close by, you'd think that she would have better customer service skills. She was extremely rude and hadn't explained any of the charges, just took my money and told me to leave. I won't be coming back here. read more

When I walked in to central barks, I was amazed their facility. Everything smelled fresh and it was so clean and everything looked really nice. I thought "man my baby girl is in for a treat!" As I spoke to one of the groomers, she had emphasized that my puppy was a little matted from her chest area and a little bit on the back of her ears as well. and that it would be an extra charge. I gave in, because seeing all the reviews and pictures on their site, I knew they would provide excellent service. I left my puppy there for "3 hours" they said they would call me when it was ready to pick her up. I had mentioned in the notes and in person that this place was new for my pup and that she needed a lot of reinforcement . She had already been traumatized at barks and bubbles so I wanted to try a different place. I have always taken my dog to Petsmart but they're always booked months in advance . Anyway, 4 hours in an I still don't get a call so I decided to call and they told me I could start making my way over since they were almost done with her . When I got there, the groomer told me my puppy was being defiant and it was a challenge to groom her herself and another groomer. And that for that, I needed to pay extra. So I did . I was a little disappointed but whatever . When I see my pup come out.... I was really disappointed . It looked like they didn't even do anything to her . She was all uneven too and I was more pissed off that they had charged me 200 for that. I have never booked with them again. And to think I was going to refer another friend of mine. I have kept with Petsmart and just book my appointments ahead of time now. They have never had an issue with my dog and they always do a great job. read more
