From the first call to in person the staff was professional and courteous and seemed committed to their services. I was extremely worried for my dog's first professional grooming as he had a rough start in his life. I dropped him off with reassurance that he would be treated as a puppy and take things slow and kind of on his terms and what he allowed. His groomer Alyssa reported back that he did well and tolerated almost everything well. Not a huge fan of the nail trim, but dealt. I picked him up and he was roaming the shop with a fellow dog friend and had a doggie smile he was ready to go home but seemed content and not overly stressed. He looks great and smells clean and his lil haircut looks great. Definitely A+ for his groomer Alyssa and the environment! Alyssa and Cooper will be friends for years to come no doubt. read more

I'm extremely dissatisfied with my experience here. To start, I was charged $85 for a bath, despite booking an appointment for a full grooming package. That alone was frustrating and very misleading. Before the appointment, I tried calling multiple times to ask a few basic questions, and no one ever answered. That should have been a red flag, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. When I brought my cat in, I expected a certain level of care and professionalism, especially since they advertised that they specialized in cats. Unfortunately, the service did not reflect that level of expertise at all. What makes this even more disappointing is that a friend of mine brought their dog here weeks prior and paid WAY less. Paying nearly double for significantly less makes me feel completely taken advantage of. the lack of communication, poor service, and unfair pricing left me unhappy with this experience. maybe it wouldve been better if he was a dog lol. read more

I have been taking Roxy, Olive, and Shyloh to Jake to get groomed for a couple years now and he never disappoints! He always makes sure to say hello and good morning as I walk through the door and always shows my dogs so much love and attention! They absolutely adore him. My doggies have a great time hanging out with the other dogs, which is one of the things I love for them because they are not stuck in a kennel all day like other places. First off want to thank these ladies for taking my dog in on such short notice. I'm new to town and was looking for a new groomer but I will not be returning. I received a picture telling me she was all done and ready to be picked up to which I responded asking them to even out the areas by her chest and legs. When I arrived, a woman told me that she fixed what I requested but I didn't really get a good look because my dog was eager to go. Her face looked different to me and I couldn't figure out why. When we arrived home I noticed that one eye was shaved way closer than the other and had razor burn. I also noticed multiple areas that were still uneven on her body (I ask for a short body and soft schnauzer face). Cam is a miracle worker! I LOVE that the dogs get to play while awaiting their turn as my Harley gets so nervous in the kennel by the time a groomer gets to her she's worked up and resists grooming of her hind end (previous grooming trauma). This grooming salon is the BEST. The pups are running around having fun and socializing so no one is stressed out. I figured it might be a full day affair since previous groomers would have to work on her til she got too nervous then put her in the kennel to settle a bit, then work on her more. Not here! The results surpassed our expectations. Not only were we able to see her eyes, but we were able to appreciate the delicate bone structure of her face. Cam explained their philosophy about puppy grooming: They will do as much as the puppy will tolerate and no more. They treat the animals with utter kindness. There is a part where dogs can play as they wait. Our Gracie is a people dog not an other-dog dog. Dropped my gorgeous old boy off here the other day to get groomed. My dog is 12 years old and his hips hurt so bad. I immediately knew this was the place I wanted to go when I received a reply on yelp about my concerns. I wanted to know if they would still groom my dog, due to his hips and age. California Groomin' not only assured me it was fine but that they would take extra care with him and they wouldn't even crate him. That way he wouldn't get stiff either. So I dropped him off and when he was done, I received a text saying he was done and how sweet and wonderful they thought my dog was. They even modified the hair trim because they could tell he was having trouble with his hips and if they went a little shorter, the trim would be quicker for him. My dog has very long nails, and other groomers never take a sufficient amount of length off, but his nails are always short and well-trimmed here.
