I did a review here when I first started using CaliPetz but, that changed today! Awful experience for our family. I am very disappointed with them now! It started very well in the beginning early last year. But, today I picked up my dog and she was shaved again! They had her in there for 3hours! Just to shave all her fur! :( I asked for a trim half an inch on the body (I don't want her shaved, keep her fluffy) shave the tummy, clean private parts, teeth cleaning and bath. I had her groomed to be ready for a photo and now she's shaven. I'm so upset! This is the second time they did this to us. And, I can't be understanding anymore. Last time was last November 2025. So she's, ready for the holiday festivities and photos. But, she was shaved! I had to have her wear sweaters all winter because she was getting cold and looked malnourished. And, they offer a free grooming for next time! Why in the world would I bring my dog to them again. No consistency! Both times it was the same person at the drop off. Quality in cuts has dropped and groomers doing the most I never asked for bows in my dog hair and to accommodate the rubber bands you didn't even groom her head or bangs looks exactly the same and as before she went in for a cut. Other dog looks fine. read more

I've been taking my maltipoo, Nugget, to Cali Pet for years! I have always been so pleased with the way he has been groomed and grateful for the love and care he receives. Kristinia has always taken such special care of him and I feel like he is always in good hands. He is 16 now, has lot of skin warts/cysts, he's deaf and blind. Terrible! If you love your dog find another grooming place! I've been a loyal customers bring my 2 goldendoodles for grooming. Every time at least one of them will have a horrible haircut and I will have to be brining my doggy back to fix it. Adding extra time on my schedule and stress on my dog. The owner was so rude to me ever time and speaking with me as it was my dogs' fault they could not do a good job. The last time it happened - the owner blamed all on my dog and said that its my dog's circumstances they cannot be groomed as expected. Terrible survives and terrible animal care. If you are late one or two hours they put your dog in a cage and do not give the dog water and if the dog needs bathroom they just let that dog to pee and poo on themselves. I called in this morning to ask if I can schedule an appt to get my dogs nails trimmed. I was told that they don't take those types of appts but to come and it should not be a long wait. I drove to their location and when I got in I was told it was going to take a few mins to find someone who can do the work. After a few mins I was told the wait was between 30 to 40 mins before they could see my dog. I wasn't told this on the phone the wait would be this long. Had I been told this I would not have gone. Let me give you a tip. Make appts for nail training so people don't waste time and gas driving. I can not recommend this place for any dog services. read more

These guys rock! All my dogs have different needs and these guys at Cali Pet Goodz take care of all of them. Everyone is professional and they answer all my question. And they even do a beautiful haircut on my dog even after I tried to do it my self. On top of that when I finally looked around the store I found everything I needed all in the one shop. Saved me going to two other stores because they had my stuff. Right here by my house. So cool. Other thing I noticed is the employees are long term, they do not come and go. I brought my reactive dog in - he's hard to work with, I get it. I'm upfront about him being on sedatives and what works and I'm thankful they worked with him in the past with transparency about what they do, for that, they get 2 stars. Recently, I don't know if they changed management but it's very evident that they don't even want to try. The last groom, they put a muzzle on and shaved some of the body but not everything, still charged me full amount + hard to work with fee - fair enough, I figured he was being extra feisty and still gave them the usual 20% tip off the new increased price. This time they said that they could not muzzle my POODLE + MALTESE mix dog because of BREED restrictions. He doesn't even resemble a shih tzu or a pug so I don't know where this breed restriction came from. Just tell me the truth that you guys can't handle him, don't give him a half assed bath, charge me and blame his breed. read more

Budro had his first grooming appointment this past weekend, he came out looking handsome as ever. LOVED his Autumn handkerchief, it was such a cute touch. My dog is a big old baby and has to get used to have his nails trimmed. They were able to get some done initially Saturday, but then we came back today to try the duclaws again. SUCCESS, thankfully they were clipped and I appreciate the effort and patience to get it done. Those things were like dinosaur claws so it's necessary we get them under control so he and my 3 year old can play as they normally do without injuries. Overall he came out looking great and it's comforting to know the staff cares about the safety of my dog and won't push him beyond his comfort zone. When we went back into the store today he was happy and wagging his tail so I know it's a place he felt safe (sorry about the puppy piddle, he must really like you). I let him pick out some goods to make up for it lol. Thanks for not making us feel bad about it. I really appreciate the staff taking the time to care about my issues when I had them and make sure we had a 5 star experience rather than a 4 star. If I could give zero stars I would. If you're looking for a groomer with patience and a calm loving gentle demeanor, do not take them here. I brought my indoor Persian cat here for grooming and they said that he was "being fiesty" and I had to come pick him up. Usually the grooming places will work on them and if they get upset, they will give them a bit to calm down. This groomer apparently does not have this kind of patience and/or is not experienced enough. I didn't see what he looked like when I picked him up because he was laying down in his carrier. I was horrified to get him home and see him! Now he's even worse then when I took him there. To make it worse, when I picked up my cat, the groomer was angrily yelling at the dog she was working on. No wonder why my cat was upset. The poor other dogs that were waiting were whimpering. If you love your pet, don't take him here. read more

Found this place on Yelp. I needed a place to take my fur baby Lily for her first grooming experience. I definitely was more nervous then my puppy. We were greeted when we arrived. The lady who approached Lily was very patient and waited for Lily to take to her before taking Lily back. The groomer thoroughly explained to me what was going to be done for her first time and asked permission to give Lily treats. I appreciated that they checked for food allergies and for permission to give her treats. They also explained with her matted puppy hair they would have to shave her so I wasn't surprised when I picked her up. Within a decent amount of time to groom a puppy for the first time I received a call to pick her up. This location definitely gets busy but they did an amazing job at grooming my baby. They provided great customer service and the most important part to me is they took great care of my baby girl. We definitely will be returning customers. read more

We've tried other groomers. Our Border Collie is smart and acutely aware of what's going on. He gets real anxious and trembles when we go to the vet or to the groomer. In the past, just the anxiety of going to the groomers caused him physical distress. But Cali Pet Goodz has an "Express" service where they work on one dog from start finish. So he doesn't need to stay tied up and trembling while other dogs are worked on. This was our second trip to Cali Pet Goodz. "Kev" immediately recognized where we were and started shaking before we went inside. Bless his heart. But the ladies at the place took good care of hime and he was out in a little over an hour. He looks so handsome in his scarf. I actually purchased a dog grooming table and clippers, combs and scissors. I've done the job a half dozen times, so the cost of the equipment has paid for itself. But it's hard, back-breaking work! And there is a surprising amount of skill required. I got better with time. But I'm happy to pay someone else to do this, as long as my buddy "Kev" doesn't suffer. I wish he enjoyed it. But he still reacts with intense anxiety. Shorter "Express" appointments mean a lot to him and to me. read more

Wow so impressed!!! Called last minute the day before a trip to see if I can get a full groom for my pups and they were able to make it happen, and also squeeze in my mothers dog. We normally go to a friend for their cuts or mobile grooming since they can both be weird with other dogs sometimes so have always avoids group grooming places. I'm really upset to rate this place so negatively because not only did they treat our puppies with such care, but they cut their nails very well. They were quick, and our dogs were so happy after getting their nails trimmed. That being said, my dogs are inside dogs and don't come into contact with many people or other dogs. I bathe them myself but they have a hard time with their nails so it's easier to have their nails trimmed every now and then. I decided to try out Cali Pet Goodz and my dogs were happy with their newly trimmed nails but came back incredibly itchy. I thought a bath would make them feel better but they were still scratching. It wasn't until about two or three days later that I found a flea on both of my dogs. Now I've had to buy 2 $70 flea collars, $30 flea shampoo, all because I needed to get my puppies' nails trimmed. What should've been a $40 trip has cost me so much more (I need to spend days vacuuming as fleas can lay up to tens of thousands of eggs per day) and my poor puppies are so uncomfortable(not the mention I have been bitten as well) My boy pup has flea bites on his boys and my girl has fleas all over her neck. Sadly I will not be coming back here as I don't want my dogs to pick up something worse than fleas. read more

Brownie did not bark at anyone which automatically made me feel comfortable (he barks if he doesn't like you lol). I picked him up about a couple hours later and he looked so different!! They did such an amazing job with him Anastasia I believe is the girl who took care of him. I unfortunately did not get the other girl's name in reception area but she was also great!
