Last night was my first visit without my young guide. I went to secretly purchase a new Nintendo game console for him. Yes. I was the oldest dude in the shop, but the staff saw that immediately and came to my aid. They were informative and supportive of my great adventure. We closed the deal quickly and I was comfortable with the interaction, humor, and compassion. Looking around, I realized that a lot of dads accompany their kids to Gamestop, and we all have the same slightly bewildered looks on our faces. As long as we control the wallet and we are willing to learn, this is a decent experience. Perhaps, they should offer classes for parents. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly by several employees. They asked us to head to one of the counters in the back and they would assist us shortly. They were so enthusiastic about the Gameboy games my fiancé had. It was nice to see them get excited about games that were popular in the 90's and 2000's. We overheard them saying that they typically match whatever GameStop is currently offering in store credit. To our surprise, they gave my fiancé more than GameStop would have if we would've gone there. This is why it matters to support small businesses. We were happy with the level of service we received here and will definitely be back.

The discs I received had come with deep scratches, rendering them completely unplayable. Selling games in this condition demonstrates either a complete absence of quality control or a disregard for customers altogether. It is one thing to expect minor cosmetic wear on used discs, but it is another to receive items that clearly were never inspected and should never have been sold in the first place. A company dealing in video games has one basic responsibility: to ensure the product functions. Kill Screen Games failed at that most fundamental level. Until they establish real standards for product inspection and customer care, I cannot hand them a good review.
