So, first let me start with the elephant in the room... COVID-19 protocols: this place is extremely…read moreclean! They are following all COVID-19 protocols from masks being worn by everyone completely over the nose & mouth to disinfecting the stations between customers and allowing a period of time between bookings, so the place isn't filled with people coming'n'going. They only book one or two clients at a time (I even tried to book a couple session, but they were booked, so it was a single session. I say that because some other salons I have been too are fitting people in sideways to make money over fighting COVID-19). Security is the tightest and the doors are locked to limited entry and you have to call from outside to check in and are only allowed in once your appointment time has arrived. Love that these measures are in place! Now, I'm a vet so I've been all over the world and I have to say they earned those and easily are the best stateside nail salon I have been to. The employees are polite and professional. Their touch is always soft and tender; not once was I scratched, poked or sliced during the service. The actual pedicure includes the soaking and exfoliating, BUT THEN THERE'S THIS CREAM THAT IS HEATED AND THEN APPLIED.... BAE-BEE!!!!! I was like "what is this and why have I never had this before at any other place?" He said "we think it's better if it's warmed" At that moment, I was infatuated with this nail salon. It's understood that going to any place that your nails and feet will look better, but I felt like I had reset my beauty life coming here. Especially now, it's hard to feel beautiful after coming out of isolation and quarantine. The attention to detail and customer service is so amazing and the actual service is so relaxing that anytime I'm headed to Pennsylvania, I booked my airline ticket and then book an appointment for a mani/pedi and drive the 4-hour round trip from Wilkes-Barre... Okay, so I'm rambling, but that's only because this place is worth it!!! My gel set and polish always look excellent and last a very long time. The prices are affordable. I've never had to complain or ask they re-do something. I love conversing with the employees while they're performing your service. Oh and on New Year's, they even gifted me a medium size tube of green tea lotion. I use it all the time. I've never been to a salon that treats customers this outstanding. I'll post a pic of my nails next time...

The hairdresser I had (Lisa) did a very basic job on my haircut and it took less than 30 minutes for wash, cut and dry, I was unimpressed. I asked for a haircut but was given a trim. Note- my damaged ends are still there, but she said since it is dyed, it appears more damaged when I can clearly see all the split ends I wanted to get rid of, unfortunately I'm going to have to go to another salon and get an actual haircut. All in all, if you want Pinterest worthy haircut this is not the place. I didn't know what to expect since there are barely any reviews but if you're in a rush and need a basic haircut like a Great Clips cut this is the salon for you

I discovered this place when I was looking for a lash extension deal on Groupon. Even though I'm an…read moreexperienced Groupon user, I forgot to call to see if they'd match the Groupon price without me actually buying the voucher. For an FYI: Many salons if not other businesses prefer you screenshot the deal and then match the price. This saves them from paying out a major percentage of the deal o Groupon. About a week after buying the deal, I called to schedule the appointment. I liked that their timings were pretty flexible. They will take appointments every day of the week, until about 7 or 7:30. As a working person with a somewhat unpredictable schedule, I liked this. My voucher included a lash extension installation with a 2-week fill. I scheduled my first appointment for a Sunday at 5PM. The spa sends text reminders for appointments that you've booked. The one thing I disliked is that the salon tried to push the time earlier than scheduled in the day of the actual appointment. I had other plans, but I was able to compromise and move it one hour earlier. As soon as I got to the salon, they were ready to start my appointment. Like many other lash extension Groupons, there are always options to upgrade the lash types/styles and simply pay the difference from the base cost. Because I am someone who likes pretty dramatic extensions, I opted in to upgrade two levels up from the base lashes. This brought me up to the "Volume" style. The lash tiers go as follows: Natural, Hybrid, Volume, Mega Volume. The additional money you pay is the cost of your lash tier minus the price for the "Natural" style. My appointment took about 2 hours. This is typical for getting a full set installation. After completing my appointment and drying the glue, my technician asked if she can use my lashes for photo/video content. I agreed and appreciate the fact that she asked. The one thing I will note is that the glue they used stung my eyes a little more than usual, but the feeling of irritation went away after about 20 minutes. While this may scare some people, it's typical that most extension glues will sting a bit during your first fill. These glues tend to have higher alcohol content. This is why they do have customers sign waivers before appointments. Once I was on my way out of my first appointment, I booked my refill timing. Most salons, including Viva, require this to be within two weeks of the first fill. Otherwise, they will charge an additional cost. I liked that Viva was flexible in allowing a few days of leeway, as I booked my fill two days after the exact two week timing. To me, retention and quality are the most important for lash extensions. I was extremely impressed with the retention. I happened to go to a much more expensive privately-run studio a few months ago, and the retention was awful. In addition to the retention, I liked the style and feel of the lashes. They didn't feel extremely cheap or plastic-like. I came in for my refill on a weekday evening. I happened to stop in the restroom before my appointment. I was very happy to see how clean and tidy it was. I definitely noticed the cleanliness of this spa throughout the whole place. The refill took just under 2 hours. While this may seem long to some, I was happy that they put the time, precision, and attention to giving me a full fill. I paid my refill up charge for my "Volume" lash and tipped, and I haven't rescheduled since. That's mostly just to not get super costly in my lash habit. Overall, I like this place a lot. While the staff doesn't speak the best English, they are still able to communicate the necessary information and questions. They're also very attentive, clean, and tidy. I would definitely recommend this place to others and go back myself in the future.

The first set was a disaster. Within 3 days they started lifting, I had to glue one on just to buy me time to go back and had them fix. I went back on day 5 to have them all removed and redone. I believe everyone deserve a chance so I set up my second appointment three weeks later Fast forward 3 weeks later, From the beginning she asked me what I wanted and I told her the same thing as the last time as it worked out for me. I explained placing a builder on by itself doesn't seem to work, let's just add the nail extension to prevent lifting just like she had done before. She disregarded my concerns and went ahead by placing the builder on my nail. Guess what? My nails started lifting 2 days later. Mind you I lived 40 minutes away and I pay toll going there. So I went back again for my nails to get fix again. I show her my inspo look and you would not believe the result I got. On top of that she wanted to charge me an extra $70 for the length. Just take a look at the photos. I don't mind paying for good quality work, why does it have to be so hard to find good and reliable people on this planet.

I went to a…read moredifferent nail salon two times just to try it out but I immediately went back to Liberty Nails and I plan on sticking with them from now on. The salon in general I absolutely love. They have great prices and the location is convenient for me. I have always been impressed by their massive nail color selection (both regular polish and gel polish) and they also will do gel polish on toes. A lot of salons will not do gel on toes because they know it will last longer and they want you to have to come back more often but Liberty Nails is honest and they really just want to do the best work for you. They want your polish to last for a while and stay shiny for as long as possible. I have never been disappointed in the quality of their work... I always leave a very happy customer. I have also gotten my eyebrows done here a few times and I was very happy with that service as well. I actually go to a spa for other waxing so one time I tried to get my brows done there but I wasn't as happy with them as I was at Liberty so I never did that again. They do have hot rocks and warm towels to go with their pedis if that's what you're into. They also have paraffin wax and I have seen them do mani/pedis for children if you want to take your daughter out for a special treat. Now, when it comes to nail technicians-- I did a walk in in May 2016 and I was lucky enough to have gotten Debbie as a nail technician. Debbie is soo awesome! She's creative, extremely skilled, very easy to talk to and she definitely knows what she's doing. I have never been disappointed with Debbie's work and I always receive tons of compliments after I get my mani/pedi done. I have seen Debbie three other times since and I plan on seeing her a lot more in the future... she's my #1 choice. She is so popular that you really need to book an appointment if you want to give her a try... trust me, SHE IS WORTH IT! She is such a perfectionist and I love that... she wants to make sure you are happy and that your nails look amazing. You will see why she is so popular once you give her a shot. You will NOT be disappointed. One time I went in there a woman booked an appointment so she could take pictures of Debbie's work and post them on her nail Instagram-- seriously!? This woman is impressive!! Go check her out!! In the past, I have also had Tina do my manicure and pedicure before... she is wonderful too. I know my sister has also used Tina in the past and she really liked her as well. Both Debbie and Tina are very sweet women and a pleasure to talk to. I really enjoy the time that I am in there. I think Liberty Nails is very clean looking and modern. It's definitely not like a snooty spa-type atmosphere... it has a more laid back feel to it but it's still nice in there. If you're looking for QUALITY though, that is where Liberty Nails rocks hands down. To me, quality of the work is more important than how many expensive decorations there are. I will always go to Liberty Nails and I will always recommend them. If you are looking for a nail salon in the area, I think you should try them out. I personally have never had any issues with any of the workers there... I have found them all to be very nice and I have always left a happy, satisfied customer.
