David Sills Lower Peters Canyon Park - The two parks are joined by a grassy knoll

The courts are in good condition and arranged in a square, which makes it easy to see all of them from the center. That layout is helpful because these courts are always busy. If I want to hit with friends around 5 pm, at least one of us has to show up around 4:30 to snag a court. If they're full, you just stand in the middle or off to the side and wait for your turn. Most people are polite, but I've definitely had folks walk right onto my court mid-game to ask how much longer we planned to stay. I don't think there's an official time limit since I've seen players start before me and stay until the lights shut off around 10 pm. So, patience is key here -- or a willingness to head somewhere else if you don't want to wait. The courts are often reserved for ITT or USTA matches, which can make things even more complicated, especially in the evenings and on weekends. To make it trickier, only four courts have really good lighting, and those are the ones that are always reserved during peak hours. The park also has soccer fields and a small walking area. It's not the quietest loop since it's right next to a busy street, but it's fine if you're just looking to get your steps in. One thing to know: since the courts back right up to the high school football field and track, the area can get very loud with games, practices, and kids biking, scootering, or hanging out. Overall, it's a solid park and a good free spot to play tennis, but between the crowds, noise, and reservations, it takes a bit of effort to plan around.

This is one of the nicer parks I've been to and then I've taken my granddaughter to. Conveniently…read morelocated on the corner with plenty of parking and far away from the street for safety. It's well-maintained. They're actually cleaning it right now. There are two playgrounds. One is toddler age-appropriate, and the other is for bigger kids, and it's separated by a few trees, and a grassy knoll. This would be a great place for a birthday party, or any other gathering with a range of ages in children. Clean restrooms, and plenty of shaded areas but also plenty of room for pop-ups if necessary. This park also has a soccer field that's being worked on at the moment so it's closed but again very well-maintained. There's even a protective barrier to prevent falls from hitting kids at the playground. Again, I'm very impressed with his park.

My toddler is advanced and can do playgrounds no problem but thing thing is literally for kids 7 and up. Even then it's so dangerous because there's way too many ways to fall off the play set. They do have a "toddler area" which is a small wood playhouse and wood/rope climbing area. And even that I wouldn't let my little one near because it's too easy for her to fall onto wood logs edge and get cut. Just very poor bad "modern" design. We only go cause it's walking distance and even then it's work because I'm constantly watching my daughter to make sure she doesn't fall off. Nothing enclosed at all. Truly dislike this playground for kids under 7. We've gone 7+ times and I never see kids climb to top of this playground or anything. Such a waste. Would rather make the drive to Heritage or Tustin Sports Park or literally any other park.

Once you walk over the play area you can see that they have some really awesome and different play equipment. I liked that. There was some rubbish in various areas of the park. The older kids area is shaded, but unfortunately come 10am the little play area with the yellow and blue structure is right in the sun. There's also an area for very young kids and that was shaded. There are no swings. It's a little out of my way to come here, so I won't be back in a hurry. There are toilets.
