Heritage Community Park is a nice place to come. I happened to be here on a mid Saturday in September 2026. It was an unexpected stop, but it was nice to just chill out and enjoy the Irvine community. I was here at Heritage Community Park for about 2 1/2 hours. After having brunch with my family at the Broken Yolk Café - Irvine after taking the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner from LAX, we ended up here after swinging by the house and picking up their tennis gear and headed here for warm ups and tennis matches. It was nice to just sit here and watching my nephew play tennis and remind myself that I used to play tennis, but never got any good because I never really was good to begin with lol. I just loved to serve hard. In any case, I spent a large chunk of my time here at Heritage Park watching him play 3 matches over the course of 2 1/2 hours. The day got warm, so I found some shade near the tennis courts. I managed to nod off for 10 minutes while cooling off. It was cool to see the park and all the families that was here that morning and me being a tourist. It reminds me that I could still pick up tennis if I wanted to, hopefully I can find my tennis racquet somewhere in storage. It was also nice that there is restroom facilities here at Heritage Community Park too. The overall experience here at the Heritage Community Park here in Irvine, California was good and very nice after a day of travel from Honolulu to Los Angeles, and then a short trip to Irvine. The park itself isn't that large, but it does have a lot of tennis courts. My sister said Irvine community has a big tennis engagement thing and it shows that young people embrace it wholeheartedly. I thought that was pretty cool. The park itself is well maintained by the city of Irvine and there's a lot of trees everywhere to shield anyone and everyone from the heat during summer time and maybe the wind sheer during the winter months. From where I was, there wa at least 4 full sized tennis courts here and I was situated next to the parking lot. There wasn't much sitting areas to view, but I got lucky with a wall and shade from the trees. For the most part though, I ended up drifting off to sleep a few times, because I was jetlagged, but I was awake for most of the matches my nephew was in. Heritage Community Park is located in the heart of Irvine, California. There's also a spot for barbecues and soccer fields too. This park is particularly massive and I just stayed for the tennis matches. It's located in the heart of Irvine, California at 14301 Yale Avenue. Like all municipal parks, there's no admission fee to enter the park. Although there is rental fees associated with some on site equipment and things, majority of the park is free to enjoy with friends and family. As far as parking goes, there's a large and generous parking area for anyone and everyone who wishes to park here. And if you like public transportation, choose the routes that's best for you to get here to Heritage Community Park in Irvine. Never thought I'd be here to see people play tennis while on vacation, but here I was. It was cool and a nice change of pace when I am traveling. If you need that downtime and in Irvine, consider coming here to Heritage Community Park. Definitely will lift your spirits for a day or two. I'm happy that I saw my nephew play tennis. They have basketball, baseball, tennis, pickleball, and soccer areas to enjoy some recreation. The greenery is well maintained. There is a nice sized playground with a splash pad. read more

Located right next to Heritage Park, this location houses multiple camps through the Spring and Summer season. The camps are structured, well organized and affordable. Sign up through City of Irvine website. Cancellations are easy to make too. Plenty of parking. They also have an art building for Arts and Crafts lessons. read more

tl,dr: Huge park. Variety of sports fields available. Likes: + In this park there are courts/fields for various sports, such as baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, and pickleball. Non-likes: - It's always a long walk from whichever parking lot you park at to whichever field you're going to play sports at. - The water bottle refill station closest to the pickleball courts is very weak. Slow pouring water. Pales in comparison to the Hydro Pump of a water station at Veterans Sports Park. - This park has only 5 picklball courts, 1 of which is a hybrid tennis court. What a waste. We know pickleball is taking over the nation by storm. We're gonna need hundreds of courts. Such a shame that the hybrid tennis court wasn't instead converted into 4 pickleball courts. read more

I set up a picnic date in the area after dropping my car off at the dealership. Like most parks in Irvine, there was a sense of peacefulness and serenity. We felt so relaxed when we were there and even took a nap! Unfortunately, we were woken up by the summer breeze. It can be quite chilly in the day if you're napping under a tree. Next time, we'll bring jackets. We felt very safe and enjoyed the view (the ducks)! read more

One of my FAVORITE parks in Irvine! First discovered this park during COVID for fresh air walks, outdoor picnics, & Pokemon Go Pokestops. While I don't stop for spins anymore, I still LOVE stopping by to walk in circles around the pond! There are soooo many cool species of birds - from varieties of ducks to pelicans to black-crowned night herons to armies of geese. Of course... just gotta frogger over all that doodoo on the sidewalk... BUT BESIDES THAT.... WHAT KEEPS ME COMING BACK?! The SCENERY - the floof ball baby DUCKLINGS year round (even in July!) and the orange ball SUNSET across the pond :) The peeping sounds of ducklings with splashing sounds from the fountain are so serene. The park's just such a small yet cozy pretty sight to relax/decompress to after work. I also find it a good waiting spot when there's a long line for restaurants or long wait for DoorDash pickup nearby. Plenty of grass space (watch out for duckie doodoo) and tables for picnics. There's a gazebo, but I hardly ever sit inside it... either occupied or a lil dirty. Super spacious, easy, and ample parking. Overall great spot for dog walks, solo stroll, or catch up with friends over picnic! read more

This park occupies a sprawling area but the central lake area is relatively small but nice. The man-made lake is the center piece surrounded by other fascilities. These include an arts center, a library, 2 children's playground, soccer field, baseball diamond, tennis court, and basketball court. A few shelters, restroom and grills in the picnic area. The aquatic center is close by just across the field. Lots of majestic trees that dotted the walking path provide needed shade for a sunny afternoon walk. At the time of our visit on an early Thursday afternoon, there were not that many visitors. There were however hundreds of ducks, mama and baby ducks on or near the lake. There were duck poos scattered over some nearby paths and makes it kind of difficult walking on the path without stepping onto some. Overall, it's a nice place to visit for a leisure stroll around the lake. Kids would definitely enjoy the playgrounds! I definitely would visit the park again! read more

We came here to take pictures of my son and friends for Homecoming. The venue was in the area so we read this was a good park to go to. I was a little disappointed, I mean don't get me wrong, the views were great, but it was a little dirty. There is a lake in the middle and lots of turtles, ducks and birds hang out there. I believe we saw a crane too but not sure. The kids loved posing in front of it so if you are looking for a good photo op, this is the place in the park. Across from the lake, is a small gazebo which is a great photo op. We took some pics there with the lake in background and they came out great. The playground is right across from it and its pretty big too. Does get packed over there so be cautious. There are two parking lots that are pretty big so I am sure you will have no problem finding a spot to take in some TLC and to embrace nature. read more

Great park that offers a nice easy trail. Came here for their Fall o Ween event. I recommend coming towards the end so you won't have to deal with parking and traffic. You'll also get better photo ops. Overall enjoyed our time here with my two little ones. Highly recommend read more

One of the best parks I've been to. There are many things to do for both kids and adults. Big playground area with sandbox and water play for kids. There is also a nice picnic area for parties, a small lake to walk around and read. Big fields and grassy area to play sports. It has almost everything that you would want to do at a park. read more

Heritage Park is a great spot to eat your takeout and enjoy the cool breeze, the scenery, and relax. The pond is full of all types of ducks/geese including baby ducks! There's a nice paved path to walk around, a good number of tables and benches, good parking, and lots of activities. Watching the ducks/geese and baby ducks walk around is really fun. It was kind of annoying that one of the guys working there kept driving his cart to chase the ducks back into the pond, not sure why they didn't want them on the grass. Every time he came, they flew back into the pond and as soon as he left, they walked back out into the grass and it just repeated. Leave the ducks alone! read more

This is a humongous and beautiful park in the city of Irvine. There are a plethora of tennis courts that are public. Currently there are only 4 pickleball courts with permanent nets and one hybrid tennis court. Hopefully they make more pickleball courts because it can get fairly crowded. All in all nice courts,clean water and restrooms. read more

What a great park! Two playgrounds and a splash pad all next to each other. Love the close proximity of these to give my daughter options and keeps her busy for hours. Convenient seating/tables for parents and to have snacks. Plenty of parking nearby as well. Love the ducks and lake too! Great all in one park. I will say, it would be nice to have shade by the splash pad seating for the parents. Bring a hat/umbrella or else you will bake! I am always on the lookout for a park to take my toddler to and this is a great one! They have plenty of different play structures for kids of all ages as well as a huge park and pond with ducks. There is also a public bathroom and plenty of easy parking. Ideal to have your kids play and tire themselves out. read more

This park has so much versatility. Starting with the treasure island themed playground, you get to emerce yourself into child treasure paradise. Board the adventure ship and go down the tunnel slide. That leads you into a sand pit. If you want to wash off or cool down, head to the splash pad. Once you are over the playground, chase down some Canadian geese hanging out in the shade. Overall, lots to do with your family and kids. It will never leave you disappointed. read more

This park is big! I came here to play tennis. They had 12 lighted tennis courts which is in good shape. The only thing I am not crazy about is parking there at night. The parking area is so dark at night as there are no lamp posts in that area. I'm hoping they'll install lights postsin the very near future. read more

This is a great park, the lake is nice, the playground is fun; my two year old loves it and could do a lot of stuff. They have two little sets of playgrounds-one for the younger kids and one for older. My two year old went back and forth. They also have a small splash pad! Unfortunately it wasn't on when we went. I am not sure when it turns on for the season. My only issue is that there is a ton of goose/duck poop everywhere. I had a stroller and had to wipe down the tires before loading it in the car. So come prepared for that if you bring a stroller. read more

We went there for a picnic and it was an awesome experience. The lake with its birds is so beautiful. Many large trees with good shades there if you wanna seat and have a picnic. I paid $5 for parking on Saturday. It was pretty busy on Saturday but it was easy to find a parking spot and a place to seat. It has a playground, grills, and benches. The staff here usually greet me the moment I walk through the door, and I see them greeting *almost everyone as well (* sometimes they get busy and miss one or two, busy). I like this for two reasons. First, it's cordial and professional. Second and EVEN MORE importantly, it keeps the place safe for people who come in for classes, activities, etc. One advice for management: because this place has no safe enclosure or trained security, only regular staff, I suggest you equip each staff with a clip on pepper spray they can attach to their belts. read more

This is a review for the park, not community centre. I don't know why Yelp won't change the listing title. The park is huge. There is an awesome play area with a splash pad for summer. There's a pond with a lot of ducks - so watch out for poo! Deducting one star for the poo. I know it's not their fault, when you gotta go, you gotta go, lol! My friends and I come here once a week to chill on the grass with our babes. There's always a nice breeze, even on the hot days. It's fun to watch the high schoolers running track. read more

I came here for the Bulbasaurs, and I got them. They are usually around the baseball field or parking lot and spawn very frequently. I spent a couple days grinding the bulbasaurs out and had my Venasaur in no time. There's about ten or so Pokestops. The lures are very active after 5PM and you'll usually find a herd of trainers also walking around, also catching those cute bulbasaurs. There also seems to be a good amount of Pikachu hanging out in the parking lot. Oh, and there's a park. There are a lot of geese everywhere but thankfully, their poop tends to be on the grass. Surprisingly, the place is very clean despite all the geese and duck. Even the water is so clean in their artificial pond, which has a fountain in it and a large gazebo nearby. There is a very upscale, semi-fancy children's playground that has a sandbox, swings, and a water play area. The recreational areas are also very extensive and emaculate. There are at least 4 tennis courts, a basketball court, two baseball fields, two enormous pools, and a lot of spacious grass area which are perfect for picnics and tai chi groups. There is also a very nice library at the front of the park. But I'm here for the bulbasaur grinding...and so are about 20-30 other people on a daily basis. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. For one it offers great activities for kids as well as an after school program for children. Only thing is, I think it's more suited to older children more than younger. There are more older (3rd grade up) children and sometimes, those children tend to pick on the younger children (1st graders). The center hires college students which is great when it comes to doing activities. There is homework assistance available too if your child needs it. They will pick your child up from school if needed, they offer snacks (all for a small fee) and you have until 6pm to pick your child up. They DO have good programs for kids, but you do have to keep abreast of the situation because sometimes the staff can be scatter brained. read more

Hey, look, a Snorlax! Now that I have your attention, I can start writing about something other than a rare spawn in the park. My friend wanted to play Pokémon GO here, so I brought her to play here, and not surprisingly, it was a lot like watching that episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles where everyone was brainwashed to walk toward a specific point. That, and it was because there were turtles in the small pond in the park, so there were actually some turtles to compare to. Everyone kept gravitating toward locations with uncommon pokémon, specifically all the Bulbasaurs, and at one point, everyone stood around a specific location looking for a Snorlax and coordinating with each other. The only problems we had at the park were that there was a lot of goose poop on the floor and we had to avoid it. There are plenty of drinking fountains and bathrooms if one needs water or to wash off anything one walks over. Respectively, not in the reverse order. Don't feed the ducks, the sign says. Quack quack! By the way, the pond doesn't show up as water in the game map, so no water-types spawned in that area. read more

Since I was raised in Irvine, I do have fond memories of this place. There's a vast pond by the library, where you can take a stroll with your loved ones and friends. You can also -whisper- feed the ducks if you can! It's quite fun! Also, there's a nice cute gazebo by the pond - a great place to be with your loved one. :] There's plenty of playground for the kids to run around. There's tennis and basketball courts, where often times summer classes are held. Both courts are also available for the public to use. One of my favorite things about this place as a kid is the SUPER TALL tower slide! You get to climb up the tower via the stairs and slide all the way down. It's so much fun! There's a humble little gazebo at the end of the lake, perfect for stretching and getting some headspace. This place is so clean and awesome! A beautiful pond to walk your dog around! A library to check out if you love reading. A great place for a bathroom break if needed. This community center was a big part of growing up for me in the mid 80's. They had concerts, and teen events that provided a safe place to be, where you could be without your parents and still have fun. They had concerts here and casino nights, and pool tables and ping pong. The employees/counselors here really took care of kids. I haven't been in there in a while, but I see that it's still functioning. They also hold summer classes for younger kids there, and my daughter took a few of the art classes. I would rate this park higher if they did something about the duck poop that is CONSTANTLY around here, and the pond wasn't this icky green color. It's almost impossible not to step on it while taking a stroll and I constantly worry about my dog rolling in it. Otherwise, it's a great park and great place to play Pokemon and walk my dog. The tennis courts are nice too. I miss the big metal slide. But please do not come here to feed the ducks bread. That's junk food. read more

Came here for the splash pad just now, and the water wasn't even on! A lot of parents with their kids in bathing suits sitting around the park now! So sad that they claim they have a splash pad, and we drove from far to see this one due to all the "good reviews" and this is what we encounter. And also, we tried calling all the number listed on this Yelp page and their website including this one 949-724-6752 that was posted by the splash pad and NO ONE ANSWERS! I will encourage all these other parents to post a bad review as well since today it is over 95 degrees and they're all just sitting around in a hot playground. read more
