Adventure park is free. There's a booth before you enter with an attendant to sign in your name and how many entering. It's a big dirt space with several areas of giant Lego blocks and a park playground. Two sizes of cement slides and a small area for water to descent into the ground creating a river path. Plenty of picnic tables in the front and cement benches throughout. Restrooms available and a wash station to wash off the sand. Great place to let the kids run around and burn energy. The park playground area is designed for ages 5-12. Be careful if you have littles ones who are not as strong or tall to get off the netted area or can even fall through.

Beautiful nature based park, perfect for kids. This park is a gem in Irvine. It's nature-focused with plenty of things for kids to do: climbing structures, sand areas with trucks, and space to build and explore. Unfortunately they don't seem to have their water feature any longer. The whole playground is gated and there's a sign-in sheet with contact info in case anyone gets separated. There's also lots of shade, making it comfortable to stay for hours. Honestly, kids could spend the whole day here.

Awesome place to go out and play with the kids. Great restrooms nice and clean. Sand box lot for kids to play. Ping pong table and several slides. Very roomy and spacious. Benches for rest time and breaks. Overall very good park.

What a unique park with giant Lego pieces that can be fun for toddlers and even adults. Some of the older kids are pretty intense with grabbing all the Lego pieces possible to expand on their forte! There is also a sandy area with trucks/excavators/other construction vehicles, which are my kiddo's favorite toys right now. The concrete slides are another favorite - but careful that they go very fast and some of the younger toddlers might have a hard time controlling themselves and fall at the bottom.

Parking is easy. You have to sign in before you go in. Restrooms are available. Large area for multiple Lego space building. Nice playground for climbing. Lots of sand and construction trucks and an area for them. There's a water rock that makes a stream. A couple of shaded area for building. Some tables and bench's for sitting. Slides adults can go in too! Ping pong table available.

Irvine Adventure Playground - The Best Park for Unstructured Play! If you have kids who love to run, climb, build, and explore, Irvine Adventure Playground is a must-visit! I take my three kids (all under 7) here regularly, and they absolutely love it. What Makes This Park Special? * Castle-Themed Play Structure - A large, traditional brown playground shaped like a castle, perfect for climbing and imaginative play. * Sand Play - Two large sand pits: one near the castle structure and another by the concrete slides and mud area. Bring your sand toys! * Concrete Slides - Built into the hillside, there are two small slides and two larger ones for extra fun. * Building Blocks - Scattered throughout the playground, kids can build forts, walls, and more with oversized plastic blocks. * Mud Area (Summer Only) - My kids' favorite! Water, sand, and dirt combine for the ultimate messy fun. The water is turned off in the winter months. * Giant Games & Magnetic Play - Large Connect 4, chess, ping pong, and foosball tables. On Magnet Mondays, kids can play with 200+ magnet tiles and build ball mazes on metal storage containers. * Rotating Activities - They recently started Bracelet-Making Thursdays (March, 2:30-3:30 PM). Amenities & Tips * Bathrooms - The ones inside the playground aren't the cleanest, but the clubhouse just outside has super clean restrooms. * Shoe-Washing Stations - Great for cleaning up after the mud and sand. * Shaded Picnic Tables - Perfect for lunch or snacks, and you'll want to bring food because kids can easily play here for 3+ hours. * Fully Gated - One entrance/exit, usually staffed for safety. * Small Garden Area - A quiet, shaded space to explore in the back corner. When to Visit & Parking Tips * Weekdays (Best Time to Go) - Winter and spring months are ideal; sometimes, it feels like we have the whole place to ourselves. * Weekends (Very Crowded) - The small parking lot fills up fast. I recommend parking at University Park's lot (behind the clubhouse), which has more space and shade. Final Thoughts This is hands down the best park in Orange County--even better than the Adventure Playground in Yorba Linda! I love that it encourages unstructured play, allowing kids to explore freely. That said, you'll want to come prepared: hats, sunscreen, towels, extra clothes, water, and sand toys are a must. If you're looking for a fun, creative, and adventurous playground, this is the place to be!

Great place to entertain kids! This was our second time here and, just like the first time, our 4-year-old loved it! We went at 1:30pm on a sunny summer day, and it was pretty empty, which my kid took advantage of. It's a BIG, open, dirt space for kids to play. Tons of hills to climb , slides, and MANY giant LEGOs. Climbing structures and nets - all well-designed and well-kept. BIG slides. There's also a wet/muddy area, so consider bringing kids in swim clothes, or have a change of clothes at hand. And some table games (table tennis, foosball, air hockey) available as well. Nice, fairly clean restrooms. And it's free - all you need to do is sign in. Parking on a busier day can be tricky, though.

Not sure but it seems like this park randomly closes whenever they want. Today on a Thursday at 2 PM they were closed.

There are plenty of wide, well-maintained paths throughout the park itself, so you can easily choose shorter or longer loops depending on your mood. If you're looking for more distance, the bike trail that runs alongside the park is a huge bonus--it stretches for miles and is great for anyone who wants a longer, uninterrupted route. I regularly see a steady mix of runners, walkers, and cyclists using both the park paths and the trail, which makes the area feel active but never overcrowded. Besides being a great spot for exercise, the park is also surprisingly popular for photos. I often see families and groups here taking Sweet 16, quinceañera, and other special-occasion pictures. There are several really charming areas with greenery, trees, and open fields that make for beautiful backdrops. Overall, it's a versatile park--peaceful enough for a casual stroll, spacious enough for a long workout, and scenic enough for a photoshoot. Highly recommend spending some time here.
