There is an ongoing alarm that goes off at the clubhouse for weeks on end in the Umbria apartment complex within Cypress Village. I've put in over 10 maintenance service requests which all get closed without this alarm being turned off. I can hear it all night beeping through my window windows. read more

Cypress Village Park is located just off the 5 freeway and Jeffrey Road in Irvine and encompasses about 18 acres. While you can't reserve the picnic tables outside, you can reserve the multi-purpose room, exercise room, and kitchen for a fee. They have two baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, a kids playground, lots of grassy areas, and a walking path around the exterior. It's a big enough park that you can find a quiet part and is good for picnics. Bonus points for having tons of parking in the parking lot. read more

This community park is fairly new and has a lot of amenities for the surrounding community. They have a basketball court, baseball field, volleyball court, tennis courts, tot-lot playground, lit walking paths, low-cut grass, charcoal grills, picnic tables, public restrooms, doggy bags, and a staffed community center. The parking lot has ample parking, albeit can be crowded when there are games going on, but there is street parking in the surrounding area. My coworkers play basketball here every week and they decided to invite some of us to stop by for a BBQ. I brought my dog, Suki, to the park and she had a great time sniffing around. We walked around to check it out before meeting up with my coworkers. We grilled up some burgers and hot dogs on the charcoal grills. Bring your own charcoal. The bathrooms at the community center are clean and there are water fountains with cold water nearby. You can rent sporting equipment too. They have recycle bins for you to separate your trash as well. The park is a good size if you want to go for a walk, run, or people watch. It's just nice to be outside. This park is located off of Jeffrey Rd. and Roosevelt near the 5-FWY, but you don't hear the street noise which is great. read more

This is a super excellent park in my neighborhood I don't really want to share with the masses, but I'm posting this review anyway. It feeds into Jeffrey Open Space Trail @ Roosevelt for biking/walking and is the anchor / sports park for the Cypress Village neighborhood. It has a lot of tennis courts which are popular and 1 basketball court. It has two full-featured baseball diamonds, which are often used for high school / club games or tournaments. Diamond #2 also has a soccer field attached (these two can be combined to play cricket, which I've also seen). There is a walking path encircling pretty much the entire park. I haven't clocked it to see how big it is, but I'd guess just over 1/2 a mile. Many people don't walk in circles here because it's adjacent to JOST which is more fun and better exercise than just walking in a circle. They have a really cool tots playground which is amazingly fun for little ones. Not really cut out for kids 7+, but there are other parks in this village for that. There are a fair amount of bbq areas which are good for pop-up tents if you want shade. There are a few picnic tables, but not many. I think you can reserve a spot if you call ahead if you really really want to do a group bbq. Dogs are allowed but PLEASE put your dog on a leash! There are other dogs, children, bikers, etc. around. I already saw two dogs off leash last time I took my dog here, and he (and I) were none the wiser and almost got jumped. There are also various park & rec fitness / knowledge going on during the week which take up quite a few parking spaces so be aware, the lot is not huge. Then on weekends when they have many baseball or soccer games (and tennis and playground visitors) there is a severe lack of parking. Be aware if you park on Visions and park close to the crosswalk, you're likely in a no parking area. Park across Roosevelt or in the middle school parking if all the spots are taken and you need to park. Pro tip: This park is about to get overrun with a lot more people because they just built low-income housing right next to it that is poised to open August 2015. This a huge park, adjacent to Jeffery Open Space Trail, so you can get to it from the trail, or park in the car park. There are shades over the play equipment. I didn't go during midday, so I can't say how much of it that it covers, but for sure - the slides get super hot. Overall it's a decent park - it has swings for bigs and littles, a sandy area, a rock climbing area for the more daring and of course, play equipment for 2-5 & 5-12 year olds. I'm always bummed because the equipment is always just a bit too big for my 17 month old to safely play on alone, but that's not a problem unique to this park. read more

I would love to give six-star!! I used to love love love this park. My family and I used to have a walk after dinner in this park. However, I don't remember since when the lights of the basketball court were always out. It made the basketball court, the office building, and the parking area totally blackout. It looked scary that I don't want to walk around there with my kids anymore. My friends are also concerned about the situation. I hope the park management would be aware of this issue as we all so enjoy walking in this lovely park! read more

The park is close to my brother's place but extremely far from me. I can't believe a park like this doesn't exist in LA, but that seems nearly impossible at this point. The park is HUGE, has great open fields, a full (and I mean full!) basketball court, grills, and clean bathrooms. There is abundant parking and the place looks like its well kept. I just wish the park was closer to me. read more

A solid example of a well-planned park. A little more shade around the soccer fields and a better parking lot would make this a 5 stars park. Other than that, it has everything you could want from a public park. A huge plus is the clean, well-maintained bathrooms. They are located in the community center. The community center also has, among other things, air conditioning and some comfy leather furniture to relax on if it gets too warm outside. read more

Now that my squad consists of adulting a 2 and 4 y/o at various community parks, i can say that this is one of the more traditional parks where toddlers can basically be toddlers. The majority of new parks being created are a cross between American ninja on astroturf for kids. This park at least has some sandboxes thrown in. And there's bench seating around the perimeter. This park is large and beautiful. It has two large baseball field and a fun playground for kids 2 to 12 years of age. The main problem at this park is all the dog poop in the grass area. Pet owner's do not pick up the poop despite the bags provided throughout the park. Also many dog owners have their dog's off the leash. We can't use the park when there are unleash dogs. Sometimes dog owners also have their dogs go on the kids play area. One person put a dog on the kid's swing. read more

Beautiful facility and I love the variety of classes. Especially Mrs.Karen's Kid's Love Music infant class. There aren't a lot of classes for babies and one's where they are having fun the whole time! read more

This new park is lacking ample parking for all the week night games/classes they have going on here. The parking lot is crazy. I guess they assumed local residents would walk on over. But that's a crazy thought when most of the kids/families have to bring chairs/balls/bats/etc/etc.. America's too lazy for that. Just sayin'...Hopefully the next round of rec classes I can get my daughter into a different community center. read more

Since its a new community park, everything is in good condition. Also has sand lot for kiddos to play along with slides, swings, climbing wall....etc. Full basketball & tennis court also next to the kiddy park. Also has covered patios, bbq grill, and lots of green grass area (hard to come by now in CA). read more

The atmosphere is very safe and the place is clean. It's a great place for a family picnic or for little kids to run around.
