Did this place even open this year??
Every time we went by, the gates were locked. I know the city is trying to save money, but the flowers were already in there, the same bulbs from last year blooming, why not just open the gates??
It would have saved me the inconvenience of climbing over the chain link fence and ripping my $175 jeans. (Shut Up. I didn't KNOW I'd be climbing a chain link fence.)
Also: Shortly after that lovely rip, the Man discovered a much simpler, wider, less-sharp method of sneaking in.
Sigh.
Anyhow: Last Year (2008) this place was great, a small, landscaped, flowered, paved, fountain oasis in the middle of Urban Metropolis. I took many photographs of tulips, honeybees, waterscapes, crocuses, roses, and more.
This year? Sadly neglected, leftovers from last year, and like I mentioned, HIGHLY inconvenient to have to 'break in' to. read more
