What a beautiful place in the middle of a city! My friend is a photographer and we thought she'd get some great pictures here so we booked a day at the garden. Entry was easy and there were so many people but the garden grounds are so big that you never feel crowded. It was a very hot day, I think it was close to 100° so we really enjoyed some of the inside areas as well as the shaded areas. I'd love to visit again when I'm back in Denver. read more

Awesome garden and perfect place to spend a few hours on a sunny summer day. My sister and I visited on Friday around noon and had a fun, relaxing time leisurely strolling through the various gardens/parks, all geographically themed. The water lilies were one of my favorites but I also appreciated the cactus exhibit, a little throwback to my desert dwelling days! We also got an ice cream cup at the Hive cafe which really hit the spot and revived me personally after having walked around for an hour or so in the sweltering heat. We also walked through to Jaume humanism exhibit. Very interesting! For under $20 per person, it's definitely an affordable and high-value experience. Hadn't planned to go here but we had a time slot that this would work well for, so went. After figuring out parking in the deck across street, entry was fine except for a friendly but unwanted solicitation from a Sierra Club environmental activist outside (was that sanctioned by the garden?). Once in, the Garden could help first timers with more instruction. We wandered in & started wondering what to do, so spotted an info stand about 50 yds in. A friendly staffer gave us a suggested route & highlights. Don't miss the large tropical greenhouse with some massive & interesting specimens. Back outside, the sprawling complex covers a myriad of flowers, trees & other plants. The garden might benefit by a few more "you are here" sign/maps in order to keep orientation & help you navigate the different areas. There is no place more calm and peaceful than a garden! Denver Botanical Gardens is a tranquil place to spend the day! The flowers are all in bloom right now [mid- June] and although the parking is free, it's full today but there is street parking that's also free. Inside the gardens there are so many places to stroll that the gardens themselves are not crowded. I love the scents and smells of the flowers! I enjoy the peacefulness and serenity of walking through Botanical Gardens. We were in town for spring break and I read that the Denver Botanic Gardens was amazing. We decided to check it out. We arrived to Denver Botanic Gardens on a Saturday morning. The gardens are located in a nice lush area in Denver. Free parking is accessible in the parking garage across. There's nothing better than starting your morning with a brisk walk through a natural setting of tranquility. I felt that with the Denver Botanic Gardens as soon as we started our journey. Besides the magnificent vast variety of curated plants and flowers, there was themed gardens, harmonious architecture, indoor conservatories, and cultural ponds. The Japanese gardens were my favorite. A cozy cafe is available for small bites and refreshments as well. The property is extensive and immense but just the right size to explore. There were plenty of benches everywhere to relax and rest. I found that to be a nice touch. Beautiful picture opportunities were boundless. Overall we enjoyed our experience at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The staff were all nice and accommodating. The atmosphere was welcoming and family friendly. Price point was fair. We last minute decided to visit Denver. We bought a Groupon CityPass and visited 2 places today and will go to 2 tomorrow. An overall straight path through the part, but with small offshoots where you can take the road less travelled. There were art installations, food in the middle, lots of flowers, a Japanese garden, and lots of places to sit in the shade and enjoy nature in relative peace and quiet. We also found out that members get a special fob to enter through the entrance at the back. Spiffy! read more

This botanical gardens is beautiful! I came here on a summer afternoon so it was very hot. However, the trees and foliage offer some shade. I really enjoyed the tropical greenhouse the bonsai display that was open. I also loved the pond and just walking through the multitude of foliage. I visited the Denver Botanic Gardens at the end of December for the Blossoms of Light! Tickets were $33, which is around what I would expect. Unfortunately it was a very cold night and we only ended up staying for an hour but that was enough time to walk the gardens and see all the light displays. It was very well done! One of my favorite things to do when visiting a city is to check out their botanical gardens. Denver's gardens were spectacular! The grounds are impeccably maintained and the signage makes it easy to find your way around. The fee is somewhat reasonable, compared to other cities. read more

I love the Denver Botanic Gardens. Between the year round events (music, yoga, plant sale, and holiday lights!) there is always something going on here. You can nerd out on botany, or go for a relaxing walk. Over the last couple of years they've also made a number of improvements and I continue to enjoy exploring the newer areas. (The Japanese garden section and the bonsais will always be my favorite though.) It's a great place for a casual picnic date, and I love to bring out of towners here as well. Truly my only complaint is that I wish I lived closer, so I would remember to meander by more often. (I forget to fully use my membership sometimes.) p.s. The holiday lights this year felt extra special. You can tell they went all out for the 40th anniversary and the various settings and musical performances were captivating. I'm actually going a second time in January, and I'm looking forward to it! read more

I love the Denver Botanic Gardens as the city's beautiful, little backyard. Between the actual gardens and landscaping, the annual programming, the lights festival, the concerts, the art shows, the plant sale, the lectures and opportunities to volunteer, the gardens really shine as all the best Denver has to offer! I've had a membership there for years. I enjoy meeting friends for a lovely afternoon. I enjoy taking picnics. I like that it's a quiet space but feels so vibrant and alive. I sometimes go there for my computer work, just to have a change of scenery, get out of my home office, breathe some outside air. Visited the Denver Botanical Gardens on a random Thursday afternoon by myself, since it was all I really had time for before work started. The weather was quite nice, so it was great being able to sit in the gardens and just be outside. The greenhouses were quite nice, if a bit more spreadout then I'm used to with other observatories. The Chihuly exhibit was really cool and the Japanese garden was beautiful. The bonsai garden was bare, not sure if they had moved them inside for the winter? I do think it's much better to visit during the later Spring and early Summer months, as a lot of things outside were still not bloomed or under renovation. read more

The Denver Botanic Gardens is outstanding. This 23-acre park located in the Cheesman Park neighborhood of Denver boasts 7 diverse gardens and also has rotating art shows. During our visit, there was a Bonsai show with locals showcasing their Bonsai trees. The grounds are so gorgeous. It's no wonder there were three different weddings taking place on the day we were there. The different gardens are all so unique and provide such beautiful backdrops. There's just something so gorgeous about the grounds. There are plenty of places to sit amongst the grounds and just breath and relax. There are interactives and it's a great place for both kids and adults. Visiting the Botanic Garden is definitely a worthwhile experience while in Denver. read more

Stunning gardens that I had forgot to write a review about when I was here a little bit ago. The staff here was wonderful, getting us checked in for our time slot to see the gardens of light during the holiday season. It is a gorgeous walk through the gardens with them being all decked out with thousands of Christmas lights on everything! Being able to see some of these gorgeous plants all decked out was gorgeous and the amount of photos I took was crazy! The entire place was very clean and well kept. I love that they had some staff members walking around to answer any questions that I had when it came to some information about the plants here. There is a little kiosk in the middle of the gardens that sells snacks and drinks. I opted for a hot cider and it was heavenly. It had the perfect amount of sweetness to it and wasn't too hot so I was able to enjoy it as I walked the grounds. Many different little paths are here as well but a couple were blocked off due to the event so I will have to check them out next time I visit the gardens in the future! read more

I'd probably give them closer to a 3.5 for now but that's just from the water and animals in there. The water is all stagnant so there is half decomposed and floating dead fish all over. It just feels cruel, if they can't take care of the fish and animals they just shouldn't have them in there. The tropical part that had the orchids was really nice and you can tell the flowers are well maintained. It's a cute botanical garden but they could do better, and probably do, do better in the spring summer months. read more

Wow! This place is gorgeous. We came here because the Zoo was inaccessible (or we couldn't figure out how to access it) due to the marathon. There is a good amount of parking and street parking as well. I quite enjoyed the orangerie, and the dome with rainforest inside, which had a wonderful little treehouse you could walk up. Lots of really cool tropical plants live here, away from the arid Denver environment. Further into the garden, you can enjoy multiple different styles of gardens, surrounding various beautiful water features. The japanese garden surrounds a large calm pond, and there were a lot of bunnies frolicking about. Further in there is a small bonsai garden. There is also a plains garden, an alpine garden, and a few different types of flower gardens including a Victorian secret garden. I really enjoyed the vibe of walking through these areas, and feel very jealous of people who live in the apartments nearby and can walk through this garden in their free time anytime they wish. The garden features two cafes -- one more interior to the garden which has ice cream and a few entrees, and one more near the exit of the garden which is covered and has bathroom access. I recommend heading to the first one to shelter from rain. Loved the hot cider, it was so good! There's also a huge gift shop with a lot of different things you can buy. I highly recommend visiting for people who hare in the area. It's a great place to burn a few hours and relax/decompress in nature! read more

I have come here a multitude of times, and it has always been enjoyable. What fascinates me most is that no two visits have ever felt the same, even when they have been months or years apart. It is amazing to witness the ongoing change and evolution of the garden. I love the diversity, from the beautiful lily ponds to the striking xeriscape rock gardens, the serene Eastern-inspired bonsai section, and the traditional European-style areas. I truly enjoy everything the Denver Botanical Gardens has to offer, and I am deeply thankful for all the volunteers who work so hard to maintain this beautiful place. One thing I especially enjoyed about this midweek visit was seeing the volunteers in action. We visited the Botanical Gardens while in town for the Metallica concerts. Based on this being a top 5 thing to do in Denver we felt we had to try it out. It was $13 per adult which I thought was a very fair price. There were a couple of pretty cool areas but overall I thought it was lacking. We walked through the entire property within a hour and were out after that. I think this was a cool thing to do once while in town as it can be quick and cheap. read more

Denver's number one attraction! Gets more visitors than any other. It's a great venue and a lovely place for a date. The variety of plants and landscapes is impressive. On the center of the Denver city surrounded by building apartments complex and old town houses. Yet it preserved the calmness of a natural beauty . The tropical garden is very nice. Another huge highlight of our Denver trip! There was so much to explore and see here. You could easily spend a long time here enjoying the nature and all the beautiful and different plants. They have such a huge variety including many tropical plants that are some of the largest plants here. The plants are labeled with their names nearby. Also they had many workers who were actively working on new gardens or tidying up the current plants. The price of entry is definitely reasonable for the amount you can see. Also the amount of pictures you will likely take is a lot as well! Perfect for all ages with things for everyone to enjoy. Also if you are getting tired of walking and/or want to relax they have many benches located throughout the different gardens. I would like to revisit sometime in the future due to the fact it's just starting to get warm and you could tell a lot of plants were still trying to bloom. I am glad that I made some time to visit this beautiful garden on my recent trip to Denver. It was a little warm when I was here because it was summer. But I ended up having a nice relaxing visit before my flight out. Denver Botanic Gardens has three locations with this one on York Street being their main location. I tried to cover as much ground as possible during my short stay here. The Orangery, Monet Pool, Science Pyramid and Woodland Mosaic were some of the highlights for me. Denver Botanic Gardens at York Street is twenty-four acres and one of the top botanical gardens in the U.S. The garden features a variety of plants, art and architecture. There are several diverse gardens here that include the Japanese Garden, Dryland Mesa, Shady and Water Gardens. Most of the plants are from Colorado with some being from neighboring states. I spent about 3 to 4 hours at this location. They have some cafés on site that offer food, snacks and beverages. The "Spirit Guides" exhibit was going on here during the time I was here. This exhibit featured fantastical animal sculptures by Jacobo and María Ángeles throughout the garden. Denver Botanical Gardens occasionally hosts events throughout the year. read more
