Don't walk your dogs in Bonnie Brae Park or neighborhood. The residents of this neighborhood believe they are above the leash laws established by the city of Denver.
A lady throwing a frisbee to her off-leash dog in Bonnie Brae Park meant we could not enjoy the park on our walk because her dog kept trying to charge at our dogs as we rounded the park. She had to call him back several times. So, we were restricted to a small part of the park, which is a public park, not a dog park. We also noticed dogs in people's front yards - unattended and off leash - during our walk. This is something we've noticed several times. People just don't watch their dogs in this neighborhood.
We will no longer walk our dogs in this neighborhood. We were hoping that we could enjoy a neighborhood that seems quieter and less busy than most, but it's obvious that we can't because the residents of this neighborhood are decidedly ignoring the Leash Laws in our city. GO TO A DOG PARK IF YOU WANT TO LET YOUR DOGS RUN OFF LEASH OR LET THEM RUN IN YOUR BACKYARD UNDER YOUR SUPERVISION.
We have reported your neighborhood to the city for its repeated violations of the city's leash laws, which we noted from each one of our walks. read more
