So there's an awesome petting zoo and train that you can pay to enjoy but the rest of the park is just as incredible. There's a shallow creek that runs the length of the park. It's honestly one of the best places for kids to just free play safely in the summer. Lots of great trees for parents to chill under while the kids enjoy the water. It's a perfect picnic spot for sure. Go make a day of it! There's also a traditional playground near the petting zoo and train station. My kids said the water is cold but on a hot day, it's the perfect activity. There are restrooms as well. There's some covered seating with picnic tables but it's just easier to bring a nice blanket and find a tree to camp under (or bring some outdoor chairs). We did the petting zoo recently too. It's $3 per person for the petting zoo for anyone over the age of 2. Same price for the train. You can do one and not the other. Tickets can be purchased on site or online. They give you one token per ticket for each activity. So you can only go through the petting zoo once and take the train once on a paid ticket. The petting zoo has cows, pigs, a duck, goats, alpacas, chickens, etc. It's fairly small, but a good way to expose city kids to sweet tempered farm animals. My kids loved the train! It does a nice big loop around the park. And the best part is the tunnel you go through at the end. The train is also beautiful - pretty green, shiny train. I would say the only down side is parking. I've ended up parking at the Pirates Cove area both times I've gone. There's simply not enough spots. Go early in the morning if you want to enjoy otherwise you might be completely out of luck.

Grant Frontier park gets it's name from the students of Grant Middle school that cleaned up and petitioned that this land be turned into a park and the Frontier part comes from that this was the first place that gold was found along the South Platte River before Colorado became a state. Here, you'll find a nice little stream (I spotted a muskrat, so keep your eyes open), plenty of open lawn, picnic areas, and a couple small workout stations. They ruin the ambience of the whole trail. I miss places that felt safe, id never trust my kids going through this trail alone like I could do when I was a kid which is an absolute bummer. Until it's cleaned and cleared properly I really can't recommend, the smell of human poop alone is disgusting and fowl. 2/10

You'll also find several picnic and grilling areas. I took the paved trail up and over to the road, and the gravel trail back. The full loop was under 15 minutes, but better exercise than some Denver parks as Loretta Heights is on a hill. Nice views of Denver and tons of green space for the dogs. Recommended!

I found this peaceful little park in a quiet secluded section of Englewood. I was able to stop, rest and have my lunch here. Theres a large grassy area for sports or events and a large playground for the kids as well as a pavilion for picnics and a basketball court for shooting some hoops. It's nice to still find places like this inside a large city.
